When Founders first opened in Grand Rapids Michigan years ago, I worked at a printing plant across the street from their brewery. They weren't nearly as big of an operation as they are now. They didn't have a dependable forklift to unload deliveries. One day, one of the owners came over and introduced himself, and asked if he could borrow our forklift for about 20 minutes to unload a truck. I agreed, and told him to park it in our warehouse when he was finished. At the end of the day, I went into the warehouse to lock up, and make sure the forklift had been returned. It had....along with 6 cases of assorted Founders beers. That's a good neighbor.
when DB came out I worked at a party store in MI and it was great ! Now - it's in very few places here. even though Founders is based in MI. good products !

I actually think this beer is better after ages a few months. The alcohol tastes hot to me when they're fresh. It doesn't have much hop character or anything like chocolate or coffee, so there's nothing that really fades in this beer that would make it better fresh.

I am a fan of this one, never saw it in a can, but quite like it.
Classic beer. It’s pretty easy to drink for a 8.5%. Scotch Ales are an underrated beer in my opinion. Cheers 🍻!
I've had the bottled version, which I love, and I've certainly never before seen those stovepipe cans, for this one.
I had it in the bottle. Not bad! My favorite was their breakfast stout. Haven’t had Founders in a long time, may need to grab some soon!
