The song was written at the request of rhythm guitarist Paul Landers. He had suggested to singer and lyricist Till Lindemann that he write a song about Benzin/gasoline because he liked the word. Previously, Lindemann had asked his bandmates to suggest lyrics so that the entire responsibility for the Rammstein lyrics would not lie with him.
That's really interesting! The lyrics seem to be listing chemicals that rhyme with Benzin. Till makes any lyrics sound epic!
They decide everything together and they also share the revenue. They do not distinguish who writes the music or the lyrics
Till in private is very quiet, shy even... but on stage, within his persona, he can be a demon!

Firstly: I believe the burning fan was actually a stuntman dressed in fire-resistant clothing and secondly: when it comes to Rammstein, it's not a treadmill, but a SHRED-Mill (I love wordgames). Greets from Germany and Rush, Rammstein and Babymetal forever!

Well, with "Grandpa Till", you are also correct. He is a Grandpa since he is 45!! He turns 60 in January, so since a while. Actually in this show, he was already a Grandpa. 🤣 He became a father by the age of 22, so that what can happen, when you a parent at young age (which is not too terrible of course). Thanks for the reaction.
Being young parents was normal in the East germany. My mother was 23 old when she was giving me birth.
@@claudist1263 I know. I am not from the former GDR, but one of my Grandfathers are from the former USSR. It was in their concept. Although everybody should do it as they like it. If you are happy to be young a parent, just go and do it. If you want to wait, please do the same. Just mentioned it, because he was talking about Grandpas and he was right. 😉
