My Entrance Welcome Cottage Garden tour for September is so much fun to see, things are doing great and yet changes are swiftly occurring. We could get a freeze early in October so I am relishing every moment in the garden and prepping for next season! What are you doing in your garden this month?

Hi Pamela, September is my favorite time of year in the garden as well! Saying Hello from the Northeast. Rhode Island. It has been so hot here. Heatwave. I will be so happy when we get some fall weather! Thank you for sharing. I really enjoy your channel.

I am so glad you hear you are getting a cool down, I know many in the midwest and east have endured some pretty intense heat this summer. We have been so cool most of the summer and September has been about 25 degrees cooler than last year at this date. I don't really feel I had much of a summer but there is always next year. I love the warmth of summer and dread the cold of winter but other than moving to somewhere tropical 😉I don't have much choice but to ride out the cold season. 🌴

So true, I am getting more wire to make the cages. I start to get lazy and I shouldn't!

I'm always so amazed at how well your garden is doing even though, I think, we are both in zone 8. Texas has been a real challenge this year with no rain and triple digits temps. Love all your roses. I, too, put catmint in front of my roses to hide their bare legs. My Mystic Spires is maybe 3 feet tall. I think I'd like them shorter because of their naked stems. Yours looks so fresh. Happy gardening!

Yes, zones only tell you what perennial plants will survive your winter temperatures and not anything else. Your local growing conditions have much more of a bearing on things than the zone. I need to do another video on growing zones as so many really don't know what information they tell you and get too caught up in knowing that rather than all the other factors that really help. Yes, your zone 8 is widely different from mine. And my friend that lives up in Seattle, also zone 8, has much different conditions than both of us.
