The Xiaomi Redmi Pad is a mid-range tablet that at under 300 Dollars, does a lot right. We get a premium-feeling metal body with four great speakers and a bright 10.51-inch LCD screen. The performance is not outstanding but good enough for most games like PUBG Mobile and Asphalt 9 - but Fortnite is not supported. I think the Redmi Pad is a great entertainment tablet for watching Netflix, RUclips and Prime Video.
Sadly, it has one major downside because the 3GB RAM version does not support the split screen view.
What do you think of the Xiaomi Redmi Pad?

Viewers might get the wrong impression about the product in general because you reviewed the 3gb variant instead of the 4gb or 6gb. Very few people use the 3gb these days and both the 4gb and 6gb variants are the ones being heavily promoted by xiaomi anyways. Plus, these two would be better comparisons versus the S6 lite.
I agree, it's kinda unfair
Ya right variant gb with verity price
Region might not have the 4/6gb available. My reagion only has 3gb models.
S6lite and redmi pad are almost similar , but S6 has better speaker and low stylus latenchy
This very VERY CLOSE🤏 to being perfect since I have a Redmi Note 11, but it's so sad to see no multitasking, a pen and a headphone jack, those are the 3 things that killed it for me, you're detailed review is amazing!! Keep it up !
Thank you for reviewing the 3GB ram version, I believe there are no other videos on this base model. From what I gather, if you are going to use the tablet for Netflix/Disney/Prime/RUclips and some very light browsing, 3GB is enough. If you can afford more RAM, ofcouse go for that, better for futureproofing the tablet. By the way, the reason I got interested in the base model is because the price for the 3GB model is only USD100 in my country now!
Damm 90Hz! On a tab of this price range
Update from one month later: alright, about that multitasking, the Redmi Pad received an update, and now you can multitask by pressing on the application then dragging it to the side or pressing the app then click on the multi window button, I think the initial software is based from the mobile phone since the scaling is a bit odd but similar to my Redmi Note 11, so yeah it's all good now, even though it still lacks a headphone jack which I still miss, the sound fromñthr speakers is passable to more than very decent, though I'm still not used to USB-C audio which I still personally hate
Got 4GB - 128GB for like $175 ($200 with Tax)
Trust me.. this Pad/Tablet is extremly good, especially for it's price..
it's better than Samsung A8 which have worse CPU & have old TFT- Screen with 4GB - 128GB is 1.x5 the price compared to Redmi
3GB of RAM for Androids feels laggy.. 4GB & up will serve U well ATM (probably will perform good up to 2-3 years)
Does that version 4gb/128gb support multitasking?
@@Escape3005 I bought 4GB - 128 as a gift, didn't try it
But as far as i read in reviews, 4GB have multi tasking, also people say the 3GB also have multi tasking after an update.. but 3gb won't perform well (4GB is the sweet spot & value king)
Does the ram extension help the 3gb ram version?
@@fightnight14 probebly.. but Android phones now are 4GB minimum for smoothness.. 6GB for gaming.. 8GB for multitasking.. anything above 8GB is kinda of waste.. maybe after 2 yeears the 12GB will become the sweat spot (8GB is the king since 2018) and will hold up to 2025 mostly
i got hyperOS update on mine
The multi screen issue is such a pity. Even the much cheaper lenovo tablets handle a small bit of multi tasking.
Really? I think whoever gets a 3gb ram android tablet in 2022 is not interested in multitasking.
@@lmartins2797 Well maybe someone would be. We sometimes open multiple apps on our small 6 inch phones. If the processor is well capable for handling light multitasking and the feature is not given just to promote the higher versions it really seems mean.
I don't care about the refresh rate. I'm good with keeping at 60. I need this only for content consumption and as an E-reader on the go. How good is it performance wise for downloading movies, shows and ebooks?
I have been using it for the past 5 months and it's been amazing for media consumption and studying but I would suggest going for Xiaomi pad 6 since it's a bit expensive and has way more features,if you have the budget or just go for the past it is absolutely worth it ...
Hm, S6 lite 128GB is 386€ and Redmi Pad 4/128GB is 234€ currently on Amazon - how come you say they are competitors? It's not even close...
Why the hell did you review the 3gb version.
S6 lite is Twice The Price where I live. So, not a good comparison for everyone 🤷
Which tablet would you recommend - this one with 4GB of RAM or Realme Pad?
Redmi pad also got 6gb ram version that too less than realme pad.

Redmi Pad Wifi 6GB/128GB Tablet vs the m10 plus 3rd gen 4gb/128 please guys need help 🙏
Redmi pad vs honour pad 8 which is best??
Depends if you want a 12-inch or 10-inch screen
I love your videos and your voice accent where you from im in colorado
I’m searching for a secondary tablet for streaming (RUclips, Netflix, DisneyPlus, Prime Video, etc.) and for reading Kindle e-books. The one I’m currently using is kinda overkill for that, so I was thihking to “downgrade” a bit. Which would be better for that among this Redmi Pad, the Honor Pad 8 and the Xiaomi Pad 5? I know the latter is better than both, but it would mean stretching the budget quite a bit so I’m hesitating.
its been a long time, what did you decide to buy at the end?😅
@@malekyounes35 None of those actually. 😄 I ended up going with a Galaxy Tab S7 FE.
@@LucienSabre Oh congrats😅👍 which version and variant did you get?
@@malekyounes35 The 256gb wi-fi model.
Does this tablet have a better display compared to the Huawei T10s?
how long it takes to fully charging the battery?
It supports fast charging, my tab full charge within 1hr 30min with fast charger.
@@wrong_dimension thank you
Where are you from? You accent is so different.
What is the difference between eu rom and global rom .... Kinda confusing
kinda sad Xiaomi pad 5 isn't at store anymore

Do a review on the TCL tabmax
Is the lcd panel of this tab dim or better?
It's a bit brighter than the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite but darker than the iPad 9 (500 nits).

Damn that multitasking issue is a deal-breaker for me. My Lenovo tab e7 does it using a few commands but I'm not sure I wanna do that process again. Gonna look for another cheaper multitasking tablet
Also the 3gb ram version is expensive for me due to importing costs
get the 6gb version
@@mbahmarijan789 can't I need a cheaper one. Gonna try the iPad 9th gen
@@Qwerty-uiop how much the 6gb version vs the ipad?

does this pad have an micro sd card slot?
Redmi pad or Tab s6 lite for mostly web surfing, RUclips, netflix and occasional gaming? Which one would you go with since u have tested both?
I would get the S6 Lite because of split screen view, S Pen, and I like the UI more.
As your preference is Entertainment, then go for Redmi pad 4/128 varient. I am also using it. As it also has multitasking in 4/128 varient & better 90 Hz display & battery backup at cheaper price than s6 lite.
But, only drawback is it doesn't support smart stylus till now.
@@FarraginousFactZ which stylus pen are you using? And does it have palm rejection? Also please how does it work when comes to taking notes and writing stuff!
@@Higgsboson6862 pulm rejection is a software based technology which Redmi didn't include in redmi pad.
So No pen will support pulm rejection on redmi pad until redmi give an software update on it & launch a Bluetooth enabled stylus for it

watch this comparison Redmi pad vs pad5
does it support third party active pens?
Only the generic ones made for capacitive touchscreens. But they're pretty terrible
Can I draw animations with Redmi Pad? 😊 Which pen is best for it? Thank you!
No because it doesn't support an active pen
Sad No Gyro...
It's perfect until you update to hyper os! Afer that It's a mess and laggy..
Active pen support??
No
no thnx, I am happy with my tab s8 ultra
Lousy pad. How can this be a near perfect pad? Obviously this is a sponsored review.
It's just the title (with a question mark) and I'm recommending another tablet at the end^^ None of my videos are sponsored and I buy all the tablets myself ;)
For under $300 this is great. Far from lousy. This clearly isn't meant as a heavy workload tablet. There are plenty of better options if that's what you're looking for.
All those chinese brands don't do long term software updates and have skins ripped off apple. if that isn't enough to avoid these brands like a plague then i dont know what is.
I've been telling myself this but lately I'm drawn towards the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 compared to the iPad 9 even tho I own an iPhone.
Xiaomi is a big player now. Have been for years. They update their devices just at regularly as any other android provider.
Had a xiaomi redmi note 1 2014 and a much newer ipad 2017 and 2018. Last time i checked that xiaomi is still working with 0 replacements. Both ipads are dead. really makes you think. I wont be buying any apple produxts anymore
@@northernswedenstories1028 however very poor rollout, and the UI is clean but feel like Apple rip off
I have a Xiaomi phone, it's 4-5 years old now and still gets updates..
