    ABOUT SEW HEIDI
Heya! Nice to meet you, I’m Heidi. I teach fashion designers like you the real world skills you actually need to learn to succeed in this cutthroat industry.
(You know, all the stuff you don’t learn at fashion school.)
I’ve worked as a contract designer for over a decade and run SuccessfulFashionDesigner.com. I’ve been able to make a healthy living doing work I love in fashion.
But I got started just like you, one step at a time. It began with some embarrassing hand sewn dresses and fashion sketches that would make a 3-year-old’s artwork look like a masterpiece.
Then, things changed. I learned how design was done on a large scale. I learned how to get things into production. And I learned all the skills I wish I knew when I was first starting out.
Now, I dedicate most of my time teaching you all of that. This content is hard to find anywhere else (because in fashion, people keep secrets), so I decided to create it...and give most of it away for free.

.let me just start by saying THANK YOU!!! I'm happy that I found you on my journey as a designer. You have clarified Soo much and made me feel more confident.
I started my journey 3 years ago. I learned patternmaking first (why?!?! I didn't even know how to thread a machine or what actually went into garment construction) and now 3years later I own my own sewing service. I started my business in March 2020.
I've read all your helpful guides which lead me to Invest in the AI program (the entire cloud series),last week!!! I was thinking of taking classes because I NEVER USED ILLUSTRATOR before but wow! After watching your videos I feel like I can do it on my own. I never went to school for fashion and have learned everything from working with many startups. But your direct approach is sooo much more appealing.
You changed the game, I appreciate you for it.
    With love from JERSEY!
    MARILYN

Hi Sew Heidi, I just wanted to say that your videos are a massive help to upcoming fashion designers like myself and I really appreciate your work. I was wondering if you would consider making a Tutorial on drawing men's Flannel Shirts. Designer Fashion Brand AMIRI makes some really nice ones and I'd love to learn how to design some like that and create that pattern.

Thanks Heidi. I'm reading your book and accessing all of your resources you make available. One question: should I get a laptop, say a Microsoft Surface Pro? Currently working with a 2013 iPad with current OS, and a not great laptop. I'd like to know your recs for a laptop that's great for AI. Thanks

What is a good iPad pencil drawing app for kids that has these similar features? My niece is not using computers yet but is getting good at drawing.

You are so kind to offer Dick - and thank you so much! I appreciate the offer but I know how much work and money goes into this sort of thing, so please save your products for your paying customers! 💖
