Expert singing teacher, specialising in teaching children and young adults in singing and musical theatre. She has worked with the likes of The Saturdays for MTV, on shows such as Just the Two of Us for the BBC and many more. Throughout her years of teaching she has judged in many competitions, judging Lucy Spraggan, George Samson, amongst others who have gone onto succeed in the business.
I am the founder of Vocaltutor, (founded 2003) the UK’s largest vocal and singing tuition network and now The New Foundry Studios which opened in 2013.
I have worked with BBCTV on Just the Two of Us, with many celebrities including Natasha Hamilton of Atomic Kitten, plus has worked for ITV on many children’s TV programmes including The Worst Witch, as their vocal coach.

Yes. An ascending kind of scale. She the only one singing there. And the final three notes.
Idina was out of tempo towards the end there. Her voice sounds strained at some points. But this is a hard song to sing.
But Aurora was MAGNIFICENT, she's got the voice of an angel. I love her.😍❤

Let's face it, Aurora's skill level puts the others on that stage to shame.
At 4:50 The cracking was intentional, I think it was used to make the song more scandinavian, because it is used in many old nordic folk songs. Unfortunatly the crack wasn't controlled very well in this version.

Yeah the cracks didnt really fit there, it just sounded like her voice cracked, thats unfortunate
What I dont really get is that Willemijn Verkaik (who is amazing) got the most easy part to sing. While some less qualified singers got a more difficult part - with belting or high notes - and screwed it up...

Kidding aside, I think it's more of stage arrangement? If she sing the belting part she'll be placed at the side of the stage which in theater is not really nice lol. She deserves to be beside Idina, after all she was a Broadway star.
I feel bad for Idina. She did hardcore musical songs for years that damaged her vocal cords. As a person who sings I can see what those notes and cords can do to person's voice.
I don't hear a problem with her voice but with her synchronization with the music, she is going so fast...
Aurora deserved more attention!
AURORA is so goood plz her music is so inspirational, so emotional, so deep ,so like you listen it and you become a different human , a different person and when the music stops you have to choose between be that human or go. I wish she had a part into that song like not as a background sound

Maria Lucia is the one that voice cracks a bit, but you can't really blame her, because she is pregnant, and it takes a lot of energy. You should listen to her version of into the unknown, she sounds gorgeous and live aswell.

I am Polish and I'm so happy to finally see some Polish accent on your channel, which I love, I must say!!!! We are so proud of Kasia Łaska - our Polish Elsa!❤ She did great job and she was amazing! I also liked other Elsas and I think it was cool idea to invite them all and feature them with Idina and Aurora!!!! Adventure of a lifetime! And I'm telling this as a musical/dubbing actress and singer as well!!! POLAND!!!❤❤🇵🇱
It's such a shame that many people in Poland don't know much about dubbing and don't recognize people like Kasia. Dubbing is a difficult thing and some translations might be bad, but we have such an amazing lines in iconic movies like "Shrek", where cast and production made some scenes better than original.

Idina was a bit fast at the end. This happened also when she performed Let It Go, also have a bit of issue with timing.

Idina often has problems with the timing - which is surprising me since she is a professional musical artist.
Willemijn Verkaik who sang the German and Dutch version and also did the Elphaba in Germany, London and on Broadway is honestly the better vocalist! I adore her vocal abilities - she is just incredible.

Maria Lucia Rosenberg, the one who sang the last "Into the unknoooown" line, also plays Elphaba! She's Danish and she's an amazing singer. As much as I love Idina and Willemijn, Maria Lucia is definitely my favorite. Check her out if you haven't yet :)

I agree but they probably wanted everyone (other than Idina and Aurora) to sing equal parts. She probably did the German because it's a better known language and she's also stated that the German version is easier to sing.

Yeah the old inear card. You can always take one (or two) out. Just not the best live singer. Lots of Let it go performances of hers have sketchy timing as well.

I'm surprised you only noticed she was too early at the end. She was off tempo for the most part. I'm guessing it has something to do with her in-ears.
Should say that Russian version is so much better just because in every live performance of this song she NAILED IT. And she put so much more emotion to her singing and so in control of her voice, it's incredible. Her name is Anna Buturlina btw, very recommending hear her version. Of course Ibina is original and no one will replace her, cos she's a qween, love her.

Aurora was the best singer than any of them, Disney should have let her sing the song in her own unique way, the others sounded like they were in a singing competition, you yourself had a better voice than them, maybe I'm a bit byes but to me Aurora is just the best, big thanks for this 👍💕👋

It's good to appreciate variety of languages and versions. I love that they invited people from all over the world.
I would love to hear Aurora's full version too, but I want it to be recorded in the studio so we can hear clear vocals.
As much as I love Aurora and thought she was perfect, the other singers where singing a much more difficult part of the song, while she has an effortless angelic voice. So yeah, she was probably the "most consistent", but the others did very good and have some amazing voices. Some of them are vocal monsters (in a positive way), Idina used to be one too before she damaged her voice (but still is a very talented, yet nervous ad insecure vocalist).
But I have to agree, how cool would Aurora be as a Disney Princess?
Unfortunately I don't see that happening since she has a very particular pronunciation which may not be ideal in a worldwide production (or she would only dub the Norwegian version) and we don't know about her "acting" skills :c

I feel like Idina was struggling with her breathing. She was going in an other tempo than the music was from the beginning. Can't blame her with her astma. Still one of the better performances I've seen of her. Just thought they should have given Willemijn a different part of the song that showcases her voice better.
But if you were struggling with asthma, wouldn't you be short of breath, causing you to be late, not too early because you need time to get your breath in? She may have been too eager to sing her lines since not only her singing but her first steps forward towards the end started too soon.

I heard that there were audio issues that night with several performances including Eminem. There were a few spotty moments but it did feel like the song was sped up a bit which I think added to Idina's pacing. When it comes to Carmen Sarahí (Latin America) vs Gisela (Spain), I Iove both their voices in Let It Go (Libre Soy in LA and Sueltalo in Spain!, but for Into the Unknown (Mucho Más Allá for both), I think Carmen Sarahí has the stronger vocals and more emotion but the live performance wasn't her best. Gisela did a bit better this time around.
Yes it's correct. Carmen's performance was not the best, however, Gisela's voice especially loved the end she gave her part.
