    He left to get a ring, and he got it. Throughout the season, people have said even if he wins it's an illegitimate ring. Some people will think the win vindicates his move, others won't. It's that simple.

    • @TJaeSpeaks
      @TJaeSpeaks 7 лет назад +41

      Well said.
      It does not vindicate it. He joined a 73-9 team he had down 3-1. Weak move. Exceptional player.

      It is weak. The walking definition of "If you can't beat them, join them".
      But like the original poster said, some will think he is vindicated and others won't.

    • @VJBILL1
      @VJBILL1 7 лет назад +14

      Da Man How is their pressure when u jump on a 73-9 team that o boot? Lebron's Miami team was not a 73-9 team. What Durcant did was 10x worst than what Lebron did because he joined a team that was 1 min removed from the 2016 championship (which was also the team that he had down 3-1 in the western conference finals in 2016). By the reasoning of Durcant supporters, Lebron should have joined the Warriors in 2015 after they beat him in their first finals match up lol. Imagine how much hate Lebron would have gotten if he decided to do just that right after the 2015 finals in order to chase rings. That's very hypocritical.

    • @VJBILL1
      @VJBILL1 7 лет назад +4

      Da Man I bet you are also one of those people that shat on Lebron for building his own super team yet praise Durcant for his "selfless" move to the Warriors who were the most winningest team in nba history. Such hypocrites.

    • @100sickness
      @100sickness 7 лет назад +12

      Ur TheDuke. What Do you mean "what pressure?" Literally everyone wanted to see this man fail because of his decision. People hated on everything he did and now he lead GSW to a championship. He basically is just as LeBron was when he went to Miami.

      No one will ever hit anywhere close to 400 threes in a season EVER. Curry still the deadliest long range shooter PERIOD

    • @_DK_22
      @_DK_22 7 лет назад +2

      Antonio Armstrong and doesn't have his silky handles.

    • @Ant0ni00
      @Ant0ni00 7 лет назад +1

      I don't disagree with any of you. He probably won't ever get close to 400 three point shots in a season, especially now that he plays on the team that shoots ALL of them. Also, at his height, getting to the rim or close enough to turn on his aim-bot for automatic points is a much easier task. And no, he doesn't exactly have Curry's handle, but at his height, he doesn't need them to be at that level of precision. But lets look at the handle he does have and think about all the guards in the league and then think about how he's arguably better than 80% of the guards in the league at ball handling. The obvious exceptions are obvious, like Kyrie, Curry, Lilard, Conley, Wall, etc... But outside of the obvious, he's basically a 7ft guard. Of course, he's much more versatile because of his height, being able to play multiple positions reserved for bigs, and having a natural defensive advantage on height alone. However, he's athletic, which improves his defense even more.
      If Curry was KD's height, they'd be the same player. Both their game are nearly identical now. That's why a KD/Curry pick-and-roll is impossible to defend. Next season, I'd love to see a KD/Thompson pick-and-roll. Klay's like 6'7" with an eye-blink release. Going under or over the pick will not change his shot and you're never going to get to it in time. It would be like practice.

      Even so, the Cavaliers were pretty good. The main problem to me is that the Cavaliers depend too much on isolation. They wouldn't even have won a game in this series if Irving hadn't made a ridiculous amount of contested shots in game four. But LeBron's style is to iso and create, so there will probably never be too much movement in a team he's on.

Kyrie is good but barley a top 5 pg in the league. The benches are even slightly mismatched with iguodala being easily the best bench player and would start on other teams. And the only thing the cavs really have going for them off the bench is Kyle korver

But he also probably knows that and a) either doesn't care which is his choice or b) is viewing it as a learning experience and then he'll try to apply his championship experience elsewhere, and people like myself will then consider him truly a champion if he wins for a different team.

    All this Talk, If KD went to the Spurs Nobody would say a word and he would still be a Champ this year if he was on the Spurs if they were healthy. Lebron did the samething. He could not get passed KG and Paul Pierce in Boston He bounced to Miami after getting Embarrassed by Dwight and the Magic. Bosh was not going to Miami until he knew Lebron was Sure. I dont disagree with there moves I just dont like the hypocrisy. If they wanted to really make a impact change from east to west. Hardly nobody complains that LBJ doesnt come to the west. Why would he leave a straight shot to the finals. KD still stayed in the tougher Conference.

    This was one of my favorite undisputed takes. As a Cavs fan I wanted the Cavs to win, but it kind of warms my heart to hear the positives of the warriors that Skip and Shannon talked about. It opened my eyes to see a good side of a team that I no longer like and reminds me of why I enjoyed watching the warriors a few years ago.

  • @quintonlovett
    @quintonlovett 7 лет назад +7

    It's funny that they use this narrative about KD IN OKC, but the media created it with Russ and KD. They tried to do the same with wall and Beal in DC!! Okc doesn't play like the warriors, stop blaming Russ for everything. KD and Russ played together. They didn't design the team nor coach it!! It was built around them!!

    • @quintonlovett
      @quintonlovett 7 лет назад +2

      Skip's narrative on Russ doesn't even make sense. They reward steff, but Russ numbers were lower when KD WAS on the team. He won the scoring title before when KD was hurt, other than that he averaged lower numbers except in shot attempts.

Did winning change any previous conceptions of him? The answer to all these questions is no. This really doesn't change his place in history except to the idiots that place all the value on rings. zero maybe nope, but he still wins it easy as 123 and everyone knows that , even you, his ring is still the cheapest, like bill walton said, I don't care how you been there. what matters to me is how you get there, KD is like Kim K

    Big shout out to Skip. He's the only person I've heard really give Steph credit for what he did ON THE COURT during the Finals. Yes, his "decision" to aid in the recruiting efforts of the second-best (I think he's become the best, but that's a different argument for another day) basketball player on the planet should be lauded and appreciated. But this guy damn near averaged a triple double in the Finals too. What's even more impressive is that he averaged EIGHT rebounds in the Finals...as a 6'3 POINT GUARD. Best point guard in the league, no debate, and anyone who thinks Kyrie outplayed Steph in THIS series is out of their mind. Now, on to the main topic. Kevin Durant himself proved why his decision to join THIS team was the right one. He plays with Russell Westbrook for NINE YEARS and has ONE Finals appearance. He goes to Golden State and wins a ring his first year. And for all the naysayers who bring up the "Oh, this Golden State team is WAY better than ANY team Oklahoma City had" copout, You're damn right, this team is better. Wanna know WHY it's better? Because Stephen Curry is a better point guard than Russell Westbrook. If you took Klay and Draymond to Oklahoma City with the team they had before Kevin left, Klay and Draymond (more so Klay, since Draymond isn't really there to score per se) wouldn't be as good as they are. And I'll take it a step further: who do you think is responsible for the unselfish superstar culture in Golden State? Sure, Mark Jackson started that, and Steve Kerr took it to another level, but it's ultimately up to the players to buy in. Steph Curry bought in, so naturally, everyone else had to follow. You think Russell Westbrook would've bought into that culture? Doubt it. Big ups to KD; I would've done the exact same thing you did. You made the right decision, for yourself most importantly, and that's why you're probably gonna win the next three or four championships.

    Kevin left to win a championship and be more happy. He got both. He admitted he wasn't really close with Russ, they were more teammates than friends. Kd wanted to be apart of the warriors organization because they are more of a community. I'm sure his life changed for the better living in the Bay Area and being around great people. It's a win win for him. And on the court, being around 3 unselfish all stars in a great system is a win.
