Was this built in Maryland from the old Martin yard?. I think there is still and airport in Baltimore called Martin Airport.

      Built by Consolidated, not Martin.

My father Arthur Hollingsworth flew a plane like this in WWII in the Pacific too! Just saw one at the National Naval Avaition Museum in Pensacola Florida. One big plane! He would have been so proud.

Bill, my Dad also flew the Coronado in the Pacific during WW2. They may have known each other. Dad's copilot is still alive and well living in Huston. My Dad, Commander Roger Wolf, died in 1955 in an F9F crash. He tested the first jets for the Navy after WW2. It would be fun to correspond. I can be reached at alynwolf@gmail.com.

My dad, Warren B. Matthew, flew this plane (PBY Coronado) in WW11 as well. He flew it along the west coast from San Diego to Seattle on sub patrol during the second half of the war. During the first half, he flew the PBY Catalina in the South Pacific.
