Thanks for making this video! I know I probably should play BO2 before Defiance but I just can't wait that long to get to it. The cliffhangers in these games are insane.
Nice. People seem to forget about this game in their summaries. This is first blood omen I've played since I couldn't get my hands on the first one back in the day. I have such fond memories of Kain as protagonist. Him changing outfits for missions and gaining new powers was peak game design for me😂 I've tried replaying it and it definitely doesn't hold up to my memories still pretty good imo but I'm used to playing old games
There was gonna be a whole thing in Defiance about Umah being a vampire cultist and bringing Vorador back from the dead but it got cut. Incredibly sad. However, Frank is a hilarious name for this castrated version of Vorador.
Very interesting! That could have been great if executed properly, that is-without opening the whole can of worms on the idea of bringing back vampires who have already been killed in general.
Perhaps that could have been the intended case, but Kain is confirmed to be the last remaining vampire at the fall of the pillars as a result of his assassinating king William in the past, so that wouldn't work with the timeline.
@@kludayen5066 That's true of course, but it wasn't until the end of Blood Omen 2, that rumors speculated that there would be a conflict between the two, which would lead Kain to sire a better Vampire army than the ones Vorador had made, but this time it went better than he nor his sire, Janos Audron had expected, and that set the stone for Raziel's role, not out of jealousy or spite, but as a way to challenge what Fate had envisioned for him in his Youth.
@@kludayen5066 for what it's worth you're both right. kain is the last when he refuses the sacrifice, as in previous timelines. then, in this latest timeline, vorador bounces back to life and is the one who raises the army. It's one of the changes that sprout from the paradoxes. People say BloodOmen2 messed up, but really they just dropped an unexplained mystery on us and left it for future games to explain. Amy was going to, but it got cut from Defiance. It was a Raziel scene, but now it'd probably have to be a Kain scene, as he's the new presence in the timeline after the last paradox, the one who could add a Vorador resurrection to history. The other problem is Kain would need to get creative with his method of raising vorador, because his usual way of raising vampires makes them dead things, whereas Vorador and his offspring army are, historically, living blood-gift vampires of a different sort from Kain. So that's why fanfics are bringing in a human Umah or such to actually perform the rite. Chao.
Vorador's death could have been re-written when kain was watching history re-write itself at the end of soul reaver 2? we don't get to see what changed, just kain looking around lol
I had thought that to be possible when I first played Blood Omen 2 myself, but Defiance pretty heavily suggests that the changes to history don't save Vorador. I talk about it in the summary for Defiance- sorry it took me so long to release it!
Who started the ancient war between the vampires and the hylden? The vampires did because the hylden wouldn't worship the elder God and adhere to the wheel of fate. So also yes, the octopus (the elder God) had a pretty direct hand in why the war started.

@13:08 - "Ah-ah!!" You wrong for that!Ha-ha!😂😂
Haha! Janos said it like that so clearly, it felt important to quote him accurately!
Nice one with the Sesame Street Count vibes. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Your disdain for this game is hilariously poorly concealed. I love it.

Kain isn't absorbing the boss' blood. He's absorbing their veins.
I like how you call Volador Fred. Also, spice it up once in a while.
The vampires in BO2 are all Vorador's offspring, not Kain's. Kain didn't get any army until Vorador made him one.

I admit I get kind of lost with all the lore of this franchise: I don’t know if the creators thought we wouldn’t notice
Frank, Fred, Ted.. xD
Who started the war between those two that octopus thing

It was actually Vorador who raised Kain's army before his defeat.
Thought it was a great game though the story is weird, feels like a stand alone side story.
Ned rules
Just like anyone…he’s just like anybody…just like anyone…he’s just like Frank!
The story hardcore sucks...the steampunk gothic attire and weak story repetitive combat
