It's marketed as cardarine, it's an illegal ped and causes cancer.
You know someone’s going to patent it and sell it for 6 million per pill
We already messed up mate don't you worry.
Exactly what I was thinking - a la the "V" drug from "The Boys"
We will for sure as usual
*A pharmacist has entered the chat* GW501516 is called cardarine (sometimes also called endurobol) it was developed sometime in the 90's by GSK but then dropped before it was brought to market. It's become fairly popular in the fitness industry in the last few years. One of the biggest benefits I've seen on paper and anecdotally is the increase in HDL (high-density lipoproteins) which are generally considered cardioprotective. I'll also mention that the doses of Cardarine that were given to mice that increased cancer risk were astronomically high and far above the minimum effective dose. That study was most likely establishing the maximum tolerated dose which is a very standard practice in drug development and design prior to human studies because you don't want to put a lot of money into developing a drug that is going to kill people and/or get you sued for causing cancer.
This drug is no magic pill though and while it does seem to be very effective and the side effect profile very low it probably won't be brought to market for just those reasons. Treating chronic disease is a huge market and currently the money is in the treatment not the cure unfortunately. Couple that with the fact that at this point it is fairly easy to obtain cardarine online already any company that wanted to patent it or a similar version would probably not make much money.
If you are interested in how Cardarine works Ryan Russo has a pretty in-depth analysis of it on his channel.
I haven't heard of compound 14 before unless it goes by another name but the way it works sounds similar to glucose disposal agents which are also pretty widely available now. It also seems slightly similar to DNP (2,4-Dinitrophenol) which is a very toxic drug used to lose weight so hopefully that's not what it is.
I looked this up and found that the moment they dropped the ID name. This video seems very under-researched and even misinformative :/
This comment should be at the top
Your comment and the video you mentioned were very useful, thank you!
@@theodora_pilates you're welcome!

I bet he had a great time. Who doesnt love Medellin?
I would love it as a booster. The worst part of getting into shape again is getting the initial activity and fat burn going. I know once I've been at it for a month or two, it will be easier, but starting is rough. If I could loose weight quicker at the start, it would be a strong motivator.
I'd actually recommend the opposite, since it's already easier to lose weight in the beginning don't take it first and then take it when weight loss gets tougher
Pure laziness

@@Juggernaut-fg2up if that's your opinion. It's the start that can be the hardest part cause your body isn't used to the activity. I'd say 'lazy' is a better descriptor for someone who stops trying completely after a couple weeks.

This is what it says about this one..."Cardarine may be a potential carcinogen and its effect on humans has not been systematically investigated."
I don't think you can imitate all the benefits exercising has by just taking certain pills, since the movement in itself I believe gives a lot of benefits. But if there will be a pill that can do some things that can be achieved with exercise for people who aren't able to, then certainly this could be a good alternative.
You dont know PEDS, it's scary how efficient they are
@@seymur7422 not to mention some of the side effects, depending on the PED in question.
Why couldn't we imitate exercise? There isn't anything special about the physical process of doing exercise. It's just our roundabout way of triggering the production of useful chemicals. If we want to lose or maintain weight, for example, we need to physically exercise because byproducts of energy _use_ (exercising) have this effect. We want the byproducts of the energy use process. As of now, the only way we know how to get those byproducts is through exercise. And also, as someone else mentioned, a rudimentary approach is performance enhancing drugs (PEDS).
Side note: I think such an "exercise pill" is still well in the realm of science fiction, but like any good sci fi, it's not theoretically impossible.

I am morbidly obese and have worked hard to lose weight. I have lost 107 pounds but still have more to lose, but my extreme weight has damaged my knees and heart, so a lot of activities are difficult or impossible for me. If this pill works, I could get to a healthy weight and do more exercise- I miss the activities of my youth- hiking, climbing, rafting, etc. and would love to get back to those activities.
I lift, and the major thing about lifting isnt the end game, its about the journey. I personally wouldnt take the pill, but its nice to see being an option for those who would need it. Cant expect someone over 400lbs to just start exercising without major obstacles
If it’s safe I would personally love to take it while continuing my normal lifting just to see how quickly the gains can occur. Alas I will stick to my normal regiment for now
I'm a former body building enthusiast and self proclaimed workout addict. A not-at-fault auto accident in 2010 left me disabled and in chronic intractable pain. I developed fibromyalgia and CFS. I DREAM of and still fight for a higher degree of mobility, not because I am able, but because I can actually FEEL my body dying from this sedentary lifestyle I've been forced to live. Night and day from who I was before. Depression, suicidal dips just trying to deal with so much pain and loss of enjoyment of life. Then add weight problems to the mix due to inactivity 🥺 that's where MANY chronic pain/chronic illness patients exist. Medicines like this would benefit our lives in ways we have only dreamt of! I hope they can roll out something affordable and attainable for those who need it most.
i have cfs and fibromyalgia too but I'm only 14 so i miss out on so much of the physical activity that i should be doing even in pe class. i really really hope that a medicine like this becomes accessible for people like us because it would genuinely make my life 100 times better
One minor correction, the "recommended 150min" is really the recommended minimum. There's strong evidence suggesting more than 150min is better, but 150min is sufficient to confer enough benefit. To say "recommended" can give the false impression that 150min is the optimal amount.
I immediately understood that "recommended 150 minutes" meant minimum. language is quite ambiguous, so I wouldn't say they were wrong, just could have been a bit clearer.
This is really interesting...people with severe obesity could take this drug as a last resort to burn fat fast. That could help to reduce their weight and as a positive reinforcement towards being more active, since they can see the effects of their training sooner

The number one reason for obesity is because of their diet. Nearly everywhere you go, all the garbage food Americans eat are always high in sodium and high in sugar and greasy as hell. Everything is supersized to the point where they want you to consume more so you can become obese. It's just so bad. And people don't like to eat vegetables a lot of time because they don't know how to cook properly, as it's always either boiled or steamed peas or some crap. I wouldn't want to eat that either.
love this!
As someone with severe ME, I would be very interested in something like this (once it's gone through the necessary testing). Exercising isn't an option for me as even light physical activity can cause a crash.
I do worry about it being pushed as an alternative to exercise because the weight loss industry is predatory.
I was just thinking thinking the same! It would be awesome for ME as a treatment to be able to regain back your life and then at some point, being able to exercise on your own!
Try Wegovy if you intend to lose weight. It works and FDA approved, not like Other no evidence Products. Building muscle I don’t know there is a product would that .
What is ME if you dont mind me asking?
@@Sepear305 Myalgic Encephalomyelitis .... most people are more familiar with the name Chronic Fatigue Syndrome but that name is used less nowadays because it trivializes the symptoms. Because the impact exercise has on mental health has been proven countless times.
Just start somewhere. Just go for a walk, maybe only a few minutes. Or, do some easy self care at home, like yoga.
If you actually stay in bed, you can do things like leg lifts or even just conscious breathing like in shavasana (yoga).
There are ways to improve. Don't compare yourself and remember progress looks more like 📈 than a straight line. Be nice to yourself.
Also make sure there are no medical reasons (like thyroid problems) that can make you feel this way.
These ideas are amazing, especially for people with various disabilities that make any form of exercise difficult.
Personally I don’t think I’m the first candidate for a drug like this, but the idea is still exciting to me. I had a couple traumatic events happen when I was 18 and in the span of about 2 months I gained a substantial amount of weight that has affected other aspects of my health since. I’ve lost most of the weight but our bodies fight weight loss so even though I’ve been trying for a long while the last 20 pounds or so has been the hardest part. I know I wouldn’t cary my extra weight if not for my ptsd spike so something like this would be great to help finally shed my reminder gut.
Don’t recommend. Take an actual study advice.
Hell yeah, bring on the exercise pill! I have worked out most of my life and would enjoy continuing even with the pill. The pill would ensure the benefits are not as easily lost with age, as I have a multitude of conditions making exercise more difficult and less impactful as I get older. I am working more than ever so I have less time. I work long hours that is mostly sedentary. I try and diet well, but eating when and what I want isn't always an option... Also I love delicious foods 😋
Check the comments here; its actually a well known drug that body builders have been using for some time.
I would take the pill but I wouldn't stop moving. The psychological benefits of challenging yourself and moving out of your comfort zone are equally important for me.
I have taken cardarine for a cycle and when you start noticing the increased performance and results it significantly increases ur motivation to keep progressing and pushing yourself not to mention what it does for your confidence and mental health but agreed without working out alongside it theres no point. It only works as hard as you do!
I'm so excited for this!! I'm disabled and unable to exercise due to a rare autoimmune disease, and I gained a ton of weight from being on high dose steroids for a year early in my treatment. Even though my Dr stopped the steroids, I haven't been able to get the weight off due to not being able to exercise. And it sucks because the extra weight has caused so many more problems along side my other diagnoses. A pill like this would be freaking AMAZING, and would absolutely improve my quality of life, even just a small amount. Hopefully I'll still be around by the time something like this is approved for public use!!! 🤞
I've got severe headaches that cause me to fall over when I stand up for too long. I can relate to the inability to exercise.

The exercise pill will be a ground-breaking discovery ! However, I believe it will be a trade-off between the benefits and of course the side effects that will indisputably come along with it. As such, it will be thoroughly regulated by physicians and only be prescribed as a short-term solution to help towards better levels of physical activity in populations who can't get there without.
Also, taking a pill will never bring the social aspect that physical activity has. Working out in a crowd motivates quite a lot of people, like with group classes
controlling drugs it's harder than it looks like, there's going to be a black market.
I have always enjoyed your videos and vlogs; they are entertaining, but also educational. Thank you!😀
as someone with chronic fatigue this could actually revolutionise how we approach recovery - at the moment pretty much all you can do is rest and very very very gradually increase exercise by tiny intervals, but if you push too hard you get a set back and if you don't push enough you also are set further back. A pill that could give the benefits of increased endurance, muscle tone, and weight control without posing the risk of further exhaustion would be life changing for those of us with Chronic fatigue and related conditions like POTs - definitely would be super helpful for chronically ill folks like myself. As it is, I take vasoconstrictor to help increase my blood volume to reduce my heart rate to increase my capacity for exercise quicker, but its still extremely slow and in summer I can barely move at all. If it was proven safe I would absolutely consider medication like this
Lol that contrast got me:

Great videos, thanks 🙂
As someone with major depressive disorder, after I give any exercise regimen a chance, I really benefit from it and love doing it.
But finding any motivation at my lowest, along with those unexplainable aches and creaks.... It makes it nigh impossible. This could be a short term or as needed boost that would be revolutionary.
For people with diseases like MS and ALS this type of medicine could change lives- especially when it comes to athletes that suddenly can't do what they love anymore. It's not just about losing weight; it's the benefits of exercise that people with illnesses can't necessarily get due to severe lack of mobility.
Exactly! I received my MS diagnosis at 21. Then a few years later I started noticing I could do my normal workout routines. Then when I was remitting I would do the normal routine and it would take it’s toll later. Now I’m being told no more working out for long stints or the regular number of days a week.
Edit: As soon as I wrote this I heard about the side effects. Nope, no way 😂. The benefits do not out-weigh the risks in this case.
Unfortunately, this drug won’t help either patient with MS or ALS since the first one is an autoimmune condition and the second one is a neurological disease

One thing to keep in mind is that dosing equivalents in mice and humans are very different due to their metabolism. They require much more of a drug to receive a similar effect. So the study that showed cardarine to have rapidly caused massive multi-organ cancerous tumors should be more than slightly concerning despite the high doses.
as someone who is 50% disabled and has a hard time working out because of chronic pain this would be very helpful!!
i can see this being really useful for people who really cant lose weight without drastic measures because their body just Clings to it; people whove had any sort of eating disability in the past, or a lack of access to good food if any food at all, or recent ancestors in the same boat, all tend to have gene expressions that make it much harder to lose weight. and also for people with disabilities who cant move around much, or even if someone just broke a leg, regaining thay muscle after it heals would be much easier.

I get the feeling a true exercise pill would also cause the same distress exercise causes, there are a lot of neurological adaptations to exercise, exercise triggers stress signals and you get adapted to stress mentally, that's how it kills anxiety and depression; exercise throws lots of hormones afterwards; a true exercise pill would cause distress upon consumption, maybe your muscle fibers tear up too. Y’all, please keep in mind that weight loss is not the benefit of exercise. Like, yea, exercising can be a contributing factor to weight loss, but the reason that exercise is good for you is not because it reduces weight. Reducing weight just happens to be a side effect sometimes. But exercise is soooo good for you for other reasons, and it doesn’t stop being good for you if you aren’t losing weight if you’re gaining weight even. Exercise is for everybody regardless of weight!! It’s probably the best thing you can do for your overall health other than maybe quitting smoking if you smoke. Please do not be motivated mainly by weight loss if you’re trying to get into a new exercise routine. Weight loss is very difficult and if you’re trying to measure your success with a new exercise routine by how much weight you lose, you’ll probably struggle more than you need to and you might burn yourself out just because you aren’t seeing the results you want, meanwhile you’re missing all the other benefits going on. You can improve your health with exercise and still stay the same weight or even gain weight at the same time, and exercise is STILL good for you. Weight loss is not the definition of improving health

This pill will be great for clinical depressed people. Since exercising is so hard for us, but not exercising makes our condition worse and exercising helps.
Using it to give someone the strength to actually exercise would be really helpful!! Like same with antidepressants, medical prescription is the best way to not use it too much but get the benefits that could help people to have it easier exercising!
I wonder if this could be used short-term to help people (like me) who really hate exercising partially because their endurance is so low. So maybe something like this could help get into a rhythm and then you can be taken off the drug

I think I would take a pill that complements my exercise. I don't think any pill could every replace what you gain through effort and sweating. So I'd be ok with a supplement to my exercise, but I would never abandon exercise (gym, inc. cardio and weights) completely
As someone who struggles to START an exercise regimen, this is great news :D
@Contingency IBCT not every comment on the internet is to be taken with full seriousness :)
stop fapping everyday and you will find yourself in the gym more

I'm disabled and almost entirely bedbound, unable to exercise - I would love a pill like this
I was so ready to scream "take my money" then Mitch had to tell us about the downside 🐭🐭
Wouldn't even think about it, helps if you're sedentary but I imagine it might help even if yo do exercise, as it pushes a little extra or you're just at a different baseline because of it so you could do more, maybe all you can do is walk at 3mph but then because of this pull affecting your baseline you manage to go 4 or 5 or 6mph which would in turn have greater benefits (obv up to a point). I assume diminishing returns on the truly very active but yeah, for the cat majority of the people who sit at work at day (drivers, bankers, factory workers, corporate people) this would be I think a great development
Basically this, I already have a structured exercise regime and active lifestyle however no side-effects and the effects adding up alone is a good reason to consider it. Or post surgery (got some health issues) to make the recovery easier and a less jarring prospect. However, it's very important what the risks and side-effects are, there's hardly ever a magic pill, just a lesser evil.
The point of exercise is not only for physical health but mental health. The feeling reward after finishing a marathon or tough workout. A pill doesn't replicate that feeling. A pill could be a supplement but certainly not a replacement for going for a brisk walk or physical activity.
Wrong drugs can have all kinds of effects ever get high? A pill can definitely give you the high of finishing a marathon thats for sure.
This sounds nice. It could be used to make up for lack of time. For example, if I had the option to use such a pill (ignoring the side effects) I'd probably still work out but I'd lower the amount of time spent working out with the pill. For people that barely have time for anything much less working out this would help them keep their health in check too. Overlal it sounds interesting and the possibilities seem pretty nice.
Hopefully testing, modifications and all that shows it doesn't have super averse effects. It's nice to imagine a future where I can take a pill or pills to makes up for lack of time to exercise but them again an argument can be made that we should set up the world so everyone has enough time to do stuff like that.
This would definitely be most beneficial for people that physically can't exercise. Im sure there are plenty of people mentioning their own stories down in the comments.
This is going to be essential for space exploration

Yeah, given your points in the video, I think it's a reasonable idea in theory, so long as we workshop it thoroughly, and distribute it ethically and equitably. Prescribing it for someone post-surgery for example, I think is a great use for it. And it seems like it would be very helpful for some disabled folx in the comments open to it.
Just I think we also do need to pair this with creating infrastructure that lends itself better to movement. Paths that center cyclists and pedestrians, for example. Prioritizing workplace accommodations. Honoring treaties with indigenous nations so they can freely exercise their right to roam. Having healthcare systems that give people access to the mobility devices they need and want.
If it could ever be made without the scary side effects, hell yeah I'd take that in a second! I had VERY early onset congestive heart failure (we're talking diagnosis at 14) that makes tolerating exercise very hard, but something like this could be literally life changing.
I have chronic fatigue syndrome. I can barely move at all, haven't left my home in months, and my muscles are atrophying. A miracle pill like this would be a game changer for people like me. Nobody cares about that, though, they just want to be skinny, and there's more money in appealing to those people.
Many people who have CVS are helped by ADHD meds like Adderall, Vyvanse, and Ritalin. Find a doctor open to that kind of treatment

This is huge. Many people are stuck in their diets or lifestyles, and this pill could be the key to helping those people transition to happier, healthier outcomes.

As someone who suffers from hypothyroidism, this would be a game changer.
As someone with chronic depression something like this would be awesome.
I think that double decker bus illustrates the issue perfectly. The problem really is work. We have invented a world where everyone spends most of the day working, and most of this work in the west is sedentary. It's much easier to get your daily exercise of it involves movement than trying to get your exercise in after a long day's work.
And thus issue is increased by the commute. If you have the opportunity to walk, bike or bus yourself to work you're going to move more than if you're forced to drive your car.
One thing that needs to be understood is that the main reason for most people in the US and Canada not being fit is due to a city design that exclusively promotes cars, often at the cost of lives.
*Cardarine has been out for agessssssssssss, bit slow on the video upload here lol. Really helped with my breathing when my asthma was bad* 💪👍
