    I read an interview of David Ellefson of Megadeth, he talked about studying Adam Clayton’s style for use in his own music. David is a bass virtuoso so for him to say that is just huge compliment.

    Here lies the perfect example of a bass player supporting the song. No need to fiddle and solo everywhere. Love Adam and his playing

      @LechTaczka Год назад +4

      He doesn't solo because he is not able to. He is a less than mediocre bass player lucky to be a member of the band U2. There are lots of musicians like him, another example would be the bassist of Coldplay (don't even know his name). Dude just hit the jackpot. Good for them, but let's not overestimate them as musicians. They are boring.

      @@LechTaczka There's room in music for every kind of bass player. There's no right or wrong on my opinion. If you dig through the U2 catalog you'll hear plenty of cool basslines. Two Hearts Beat As One and Some Days are Better Than Others. Not everyone has to be a RUclips friendly bassist.

      @@LechTaczka If virtuosity doesn't lead to something that people actually want to listen to then what good is it? Plenty of great players are completely un-listenable, they have the chops but lack the ability to create and capture something. To them the song is there for them to demonstrate their abilities, not to serve the song and produce great music.

      @@LechTaczka absolutely ridiculous comment. Adam has numerous iconic bass lines. His bass lines always fit and support the song. Just because each song isn't a tour de force of virtuosity doesn't mean he's a bad bass player. He's actually an excellent players to understand what is required to perfectly support the song.

    Adam is an absolute legend. The consummate gentleman, articulate and humble. So cool and laid-back, but make no mistake, he leaves it all out there on the stage when he’s driving home those big U2 stadium-fillers. This vid is a great example of the magic that happens when the four lads play together. We recognise those familiar bass lines, but it could be anyone playing them. It’s when the four band members are on stage that the magic happens and they bring each other and the audience to another level of bliss.

    As much as Bono and Edge are the most instantly recognizable members of U2 to most people, the backbone of the band is Adam and Larry. When you have two performers like that as a vocalist and lead guitar, your rhythm section has to be so dialed in. Otherwise it would sound like a train wreck. Adam and Larry are two of the most underappreciated musicians in the history of rock..
    Having said that, the silver lining is Adam and Larry can walk down the street in broad daylight and only U2 fans would recognize them. Whereas if Bono and Edge walk down the street pretty much anywhere they would be surrounded by crowds of people. I would rather be Adam and Larry in that situation.

      Dude, me too! I already got mine! Thank you so much Fender for making a LEGIT BASS Combo amp for gigging musicians. My back thanks you! This replaced my Ampeg SVT rig for gigs. I just can’t swing heavy rigs anymore. Isn’t practical. I still can’t bring myself to go all digital, so this Fender AC Combo will do just fine!

    • @HLinc.
      @HLinc. Год назад

      @@mykanoname9012 it’s exactly how Adam describes it. How about that, huh? An amp that lives up to the “hype.” For me, I love that “driving/overdrive” tone… so I love it! You can still get plenty of lows. So don’t worry. The good thing is, if you’re in a loud band and want to cut through, having the mid range option really helps push your sound through in a rehearsal room or on stage. It is it’s own beast. If you want the SVT sound, buy a SVT. Let’s not forget that it’s 50lbs!! Too many Pro’s(verses cons) to not give it a shot. I honestly can’t think of any cons. Just know what you’re buying. It kind of reminds me a bit of Mike Dirnt’s Bassman head..if that’s any help.

    Fender never disappoints. I’ve owned Gibsons, MTD, Moollon, Modulus, pretty much every bass. I dumped all of them because I always go back to Fender. I have 11 Fender basses from Vintage to modern and nothing matches them. My first bass was a Squier P bass in 1990 and I’ve never looked back. Main bass now is a Pino Palladino Signature and JMJ Mustang for the stage and a vintage 1964 P and 1974 Jazz for the studio. Fender for life.

    That sounds pretty good for a Fender amp. I have two Rumbles(a 15v and a 100v), but like what Adam said, they’re too low-end heavy and don’t really have any midrange. But this amp intrigues me for sure. It seems to actually have decent midrange, but you couldn’t tell without a little bit of overdrive. I’ll wait for the reviews to come out, but nice job Fender. This almost makes up for the Gold Foil basses(recall those, seriously).
