I have used this bass in metal, pop, rock, dance, and now a busy touring blues band. The variety of sounds you can get out of these is amazing. Mine is older so I have Ovankol which I love. I cant imagine playing anything else!
I'm a junior high school student in Japan. My hobby is playing basses. Now I'm not good at playing basses. But I really want to be a great bassist. And I really want to order a Warwick bass in future.
+Valta77 Go for it man! They make some of the bast bass guitars I have ever played.
Just play your favourite songs and you WILL get better, trust me.
まずはベーステクニックについての本を読んで、いっぱい練習したほうがいいですが、あなたの気持ちよく分かる(笑)。。。非常にきれいなベースな。でも高すぎると思う。
cut end paper listen to the notes just don't play ur favorite songs
cut end paper get solid on fundemantals
Yeah! "Wrathchild" at 1:03! Love this Bass, it's next on the wish list.
Obscenely good tone and nice playing by Andy Irvine. Tight, warm and punchy. Never heard a bass sound good in so many diffierent EQ configurations.
The video actually does it no justice! I bought one over a year ago and have all but forsaken my other 3 lol
Awesome explanation Andy. Well played. All the details that make this instrument stand out are shown. killer instrument. So whatever you play...... You'll be heard. And hey bass players..... That neck is even better when you feel it..... It really is one of a kind.....
Update: The Warwick ProSeries Corvette now comes in a variety of pickup, preamp and wood configurations. including active pickups in conjunction with active alectronics if desired, or the classic active electronics with passive pickups.
Original Comment:
Hi there! I hope I can give some helpful information: Our humbuckers are passie and only the electronics are active. With the correct winding of the coils, the single-coil hum is reduced to an absolute minimum, so there is no need for an extra buffer. Thanks for watching!
Hello, Warwick! Just curious, if I select both pickups to the single coil position, do you think the sound would be similar to a streamer model? I am a big fan of both models, but I think I could get the streamer sound combined with the versatility of the $$ bass in one bass, do you think this is possible?
@@leonamferreira8053 Hi there! Both yes and no. You are correct in the assumption that if you split the humbuckers to two single coils it would create a sound that is close to a J-Style bass or specifically a Warwick Streamer with two single coils. However the deactivated coils from the humbuckers will still effect the electromagnetic field and it will not be quite the same sound as if you had two actual single coil pickups. On the other hand, the on-board preamp can indeed shape the tone and emphasize frequencies that actual single coils produce and having an additional EQ in your signal chain or DAW and targeting the right frequencies can really get you very close to what you are looking for. Hope this was helpful!
@@FramusWarwickOfficialThank you sooo much for your clarification!!!
Just love this guys sound and his lessons are really well done as well.
this is my weapon of choice! Been playing one of these for a couple of years now in a variety of styles; black metal, death/doom metal, funk, jazz... It really is the most versatile bass I've had the pleasure of playing AND owning!
Chris Davies I´ve got the 4 string Version of this for about a year now and I agree 100%.
This bass is simply a killer Instrument. :)
chris have you had any problems with the strings popping and scratching on the pickups creating noise?
I've never had that issue myself. When I first got the bass, the pickups were set-up quite "loose" and elevated, so there was only a small gap between the strings and the pickups. I tightened the small screws in each corner of the pickups to increase the distance and have kept them like that ever since. It all depends on preference and playing style, but maybe give that a go and see if it solves your problem?
If you have a low action and a heavy hand, definitely lower the pickups. I learned this lesson first recording on a stingray but it can be even worse when you have a neck pickup that isn’t adjusted
Awesome Wrathchild cover, I'm seriously loving that tone.
I wanna get this but I'm afraid I won't play my other basses anymore
I used to have a $$ 5 string and it was my favorite bass I ever owned. Unfortunately I lost it to a pawn shop when I was going through a rough patch in my life. I recently ordered a $$ 6 string and I can't wait for it to get here.
How are you liking it these days?
@@12to3Guitars I'm loving it. Just as versatile as I remember. Totally my favorite 6 string I have ever played.
Sitting here pondering this: 1) I've heard of Warwick, why did I wait this long to check them out? 2) I (not bragging at all), thank The Lord, can afford one of these.3) Why the hell don't I own one yet?
4) My Thunderbird classic pro will always be my favorite bass, (even above my Gibson T-bird) but tomorrow morning is Warwick shopping day!
Jared Bauer I know this is old but i get mine tomorrow just a newer model!!!
Sounds freaking beautiful!!!
Simply perfect review. Good job. You Just showed this bass at its best. Thank you.
Love the textured wood grain in the finish, also being a satin finish, it probably doesn't show fingerprints too bad. What a beautiful bass.
This is definitively the way to do reviews.
By far one of the best, most in depth commercial reviews i have seen.
Great editing, Great sound quality, Great lighting, Great VID!
At 1:03.....Wrathchild!!!
Tim Moore Up the Irons!!!
UP THE IRONS :)
he played the riff from wraith child from iron maiden
Ommi god i love you thanks first thing on my mind was what iron maiden song it was i immediately knew it was a stevey boi riff
The Best Bass Guitar in the whole universe! Petty I can only dream about it...
Excellent review. These new and revised clips are near perfect. They're making me want one of each of Warwick's instruments!
1:24 idk why that bass tone reminds me of a heavy breathing old man
Love this Vett!.
im in love with this...
The sound and the tone is incredible. I would love to have one of these basses.
Tom Sisson
I can't tell you how many times I've watched this video. I'm a broke third world student looking at a warwick bass, the same way a poor kid looks at the expensive chocolate bar at the candy store.
Now I'm in love with Warwick
I thought $$ means super expensive bass
$2,300 on average if it's the German Pro Series like mine. And I'm pretty sure this one is as well!
That technically isn't wrong lol. I looked at these basses both through the internet and at guitar shops, and they are pretty damn expensive.
And now they're $3500 two years later.
Glad not to find a slap fan bass player, good job man!
I have been wanting to get a Warwick for over 20 years and I just ordered this exact bass. The wait is out to March but I know it will be well worth the wait.
IRON MAIDEN! Awesome, Andy :D
My dream bass
I have one. Its a '95 and to me it sounds better than the new ones. The old ones have a better or more authentic growl in the bridge mode. Love the fretwork.
Does your bass only have 3 knobs as well?
I love this video. I love when in a demo the instrument is actually played. I know it should be normal, but it isn't
it sounds so nice, I want one!
Huge tone.
Great job Andy. Thx for Wrathchild😉
I am not talking about single coil or humbucking mode, but more specifically series vs parallel. Doesn't the impedance factor in to how the pickups load each other, so having a passive blend control means that depending on whether a humbucker is in series or parallel it will interact with the other pick in a different way?
Even with an active or buffered blend there'd be hum in single coil mode. What I'm wondering is how the pickups load each other if one is in series humbucking mode and the other in parallel humbucking mode.
I got one of these last month. (a 2019) It's fantastic!
My love Warwick Bass my is brasil
Yes I just got mine a week ago and I'm totally blown away by the sound, build the look.. just everything! The 2019 version it's by far the best bass I've ever played. And I've played many great basses!
The king of basses. Tone fer days
hello like to know about the regulation of bass arm warwick corvette basic 5 strings made in China. some people say they have problems with the tensioner to adjust the strings. thank you!
I love my Spector Euro5lx but this does sound great
It's so nice and I got one
man those low strings are out of this world!
I love those humbuckers.
b string sounds wicked
ha i own the 6 sting fretless version of this bass. 2008 model so no wenge neck but whatevs. I got it for a sweeeeet price
+DaveSwag I don't know what Warwick wouldn't cut through...it's a Warwick. They have that presence that slices through everything, at least the German ones. The only gripe about this model, is the restricted upper-fret access.
Proud owner of a bubinga corvette std 5. great axe if you can get one.
War-Wick War-Wick War-Wick! You like that Greg. I also like that cool When-Geeeee neck
When are we having a corvette taranis (the rockbass series one w/ emg soapbars)? That bass looks nuts in that nirvana black finish and also w/ a monster tone w/ those emgs...
Very nice tone !
what is the difference bettween the proseries and the Teambuilt series??
A neck-through active made in Germany I've seen for $3k +. A passive, bolt on made in China I've seen for about $700. From what I read, they share many features.
Best bass for modern metal IMHO
orgasmic im buying this bass soon just gotta order it from my local guitar shop but dont know if ima get the 5 or 6 string version i really want a 6 string bass but im so comfortable on a 5
UPPER POSITION IS PARALLEL. NOT SERIES!
Any reason behind not using Ovangkol as a neck wood on bolt-on Warwicks anymore? I love my Corvette STD's Ovangkol neck.. it feels amazing and the wood looks a lot better than wenge in my opinion.
best basss
that groove you used for the tonal comparisons, what song it is? its an awesome groove!!
I love to, own a bass like this one.
very nice great
Hi, how do you switch to passive? Thanks
Frig that sounds nice dude.
What is that opening groove?
Luv the sound at about 1:29 That's what a bass should sound like. I hate it when basses have the highs turned up so much that they sound like banjos.
Love that Maiden type lick around 1:10
i want to get into warwick and feel like a corvette would be a good start but frustratingly my roommate has a 00 thumb 5 and you just cant compete on the sound difference so ive been spoiled on the good stuff
Do these have a buffered active blend or passive blend? Wondering how the pickups interact if one is in series and the other is in parallel... wouldn't there be some sort of loading effect on the pickups?
Hi there! I hope I can give some helpful information: Our humbuckers are passive and only the electronics are active. With the correct winding of the coils, the single-coil hum is reduced to an absolute minimum, so there is no need for an extra buffer. Thanks for watching!......This is the answer Framus & Warwick
gave.
the specs are cool, but the playing examples sold me on this thing
how much are one of these?
Gimmee Gimmee Gimmee Gimmeee!!
they originally used wenge but when it became scarce they switched to ovangkol because it is tonally and structurally similar. As of this year wenge is officially plentiful enough again for them to return to using it for their primary neck wood.
What are those strings?
I own a 2006 $$ 5er and refer to it as my Swiss Army Knife of Bass tone and the only other Bass I use is a active Single Bartolini Quad coil pup Music Man Stingray 5er for it's powerful punchy bottom and mids that I use for covering old electro funk stuff
contra baixo perfeito!!!
Hello Andy I really love your demo and your playing as well. Can anyone please tell me the difference between the 2008 model and this one? How does the 2008 model sounds like? Does it have the same sound like this one. There one I want to purchase but it's 2008 model one. Any idea will appreciate it it so much. Sam
Eric Kamanzi I have a 2009 model. It sounds great, really versatile and beautiful.
The differences I noticed though this video :
- The Just a Nut is a teddur model on the 09 (I assume yours is the same) where it's a brass one is this video
- The neck is in ovangkol and not wenge, the fingerboard remains wenge like this one.
- No side position marker, but who cares ?
- The MEC pickups are a little difference, on the previous models, the screws of the pickups are integrated in the pickup plastic cover, which is a good point from the previous model IMHO
Maybe you already bought your bass, maybe not, hope that helped. This is a great bass anyway.
Attn. slappers.. I have black gaffer tape covering the faces of both pickups with a strip of 1/2" UHMW over the gaffer tape between the poles of the neck p/u. This allows me to slap as hard as I like without the strings clinking out on the poles. Anyone else have other solutions?
How much is a Warwick Corvette German Standard 5?
How can i buy this Corvette hh 5 in India?n what is the price?
I own a stingray HH and it sounds badass but always wanted a double buck so bad. It doesn’t sound nothing like a Ray to me.
Can I get the intro song name please 🙏🙏🙏🙏 please
Can someone give me any tips on How to convert a bass like that into a 6 string guitar?
blasphemy
So it doesn't have a mids knob?
I have the 4 string version of this bass and I'm getting this weird overtone kind of sound on the low open E string. It sounds kind of like a wobble, I've had the bass set up at a music shop with new strings and the sound is still there! It's really irritating, any advice what I should do?
Hello, can you please send the description with audio sample of the problem to the service@warwick.de , we will try to figure out what the problem might be
A very late reply, but try lowering the pickup. Having the pickup too high is known to magnetically constrain the string movement.
What are the main differences between this one and the Rockbass corvette $$ 5?
Build quality, woods used, and electronics. The German $$ version has active pickups AND active preamp.
I got an active Warwick rockbass 5. Could somebody tell me it this model is a low-end, or mid-end bass? Considering Warwick's high standards of course.
That's a mid-range bass for most, but those are quite low-end for Warwick.
Edwin Fields Great low-end though mind you!! 🤷🏻♂️👌🏽
this are the masterbuilt series isnt?
what about bubinga body
?
I never knew why things cost money until right now
Sorry, I know this is gonna be a dumb question but...when the control settings are shown (like 0:41), do I have to visualize the instrument as I was looking at it from the front and someone else was playing it? Seems so, given that the PU switches and the knobs look the opposite order than it would be holding the bass to play it (in that case it would be balance - treble - bass - neck pu - bridge pu)
Thanks
It’s definitely not a dumb question I had the same thought. The diagrams in the user manual are from the perspective of the player looking down at the bass
where are the Pro Series made, Germany or elsewhere?
Hi, our ProSeries instruments are made in Germany.
Where can I buy a 6-string bass like that ... Someone help me with that. I live in the USA. Thank you.
HI there, you can contact our distributor in the US: info@framuswarwickusa.com ;)
Hi Framus & Warwick i have a Warwick Corvette $$ just like in the video. i bought it second hand. It was made in 2007 but, i would like to know if it was made in germany?
www.warwickbass.com/en/Framus---Support--Serial-Number.html#current_site_id

is this nirvanna black or antique tobacco? i cant tell
Wrathchild! Yeah! Can't wait to see this guy in Ukraine on May 31!
The riff at 1:05 is. BADASS!!!!!
ruclips.net/video/qgqVmAyTvIA/видео.html
gostei da regulagem pestana
The 4 examples starting at 3:41 are half high strings half lower strings.. did you even watch the whole video?
Nice demo Andy. Passive tone was a killer to my ears.
