This dance is inspiring to everyone who sees it. I am a dancer myself, and recovering from knee surgery that has put me off the stage for 4 months. This dance everytime I watch it makes me want dance more and more, and makes me want to work harder toward dancing again. This is such a talented group and every dancers dream of being champs, I will never forget this dance!
Once again, Karl Mundt does not disappoint. I always look forward to seeing what he has created. My students are fortunate to have had the chance to work with such an amazing artist!
This is so much better than the 45 degree , zoom in shots, ...flying overhead camera view when presented by Varsity TV, or ESPN before them. When will they ever learn?? Choreographers, directors, talk to them, enlighten them .
In my opinion, last year's routine was better, just from a raw passion and getting the crowd to feel it kind of perspective. But this is still a beautiful and technically brilliant routine from UMDT and a very well deserved first place win for it.
Camera used was a Canon HF S21. The audio on this camera is not the best so I purchased a shotgun mike this summer for better audio. I am still trying to figure out the best settings for youtube for 1080i footage. There seems to be some smearing when viewing on highest viewing settings when youtube pushes video to be viewed at 1080p.
@cassthedancer its illegal for MSHSL dance. part of the lifted dancer's body (leg or something) needs to be at waist level or below the lifter for it to be legal in mshsl
@0liviaaax3 Sorry, can’t help identifying that move. I’m just a martial arts instructor with 2 daughters that were in dance. The moves I learned in father daughter dances before my daughters were in college were not even close to anything the U of M girls are doing. I am sure there is a dancer out there that can answer your question.
There are no words good enough to describe this...
