I think he is one of the few reviewer that says about the ideal volume to listen on each devices that he reviews . Its very important because it can prevent hearing loss !! thank you so much for patiently ans all my questions .😀
Really doesn't make a difference, his measurements are on a DAC/Phone's inbuilt DAC that is specefic in it's ability to drive the IEM. Your phone might be worse (higher volume for same result) or better (lower volume for same result).
I quite liked the way the product was reviewed. Very professional. Loved the bit on the microphone review as well. It makes it very clear what to expect. Keep up the good work. Hopefully we will get more and more reviews on wider range of products from you.
Your presentation is impeccable. Nothing that's too technical, all concise and delivered clearly. Kudos to mentioning the volume ranges - a lot of folks miss these details. Tangent- if you already have a review piece of the 7hz Zero lying around, could you please listen to that and the Hola back and forth and describe the differences ? Thanks 😊
hi sir great review i was confused between moondrop chu 2 or truthear hola , looking to buy my first pair of iem what would you recommend for daily music listening because in the studio i use byerdynamic dt990 pros , need your recommendation
I haven't yet tested the Chu2 but quite like the Hola. For the price they're great sounding and have good detail too. Don't expect DT990 Pro levels of energy, staging and imaging. But I would recommend the Hola. It's well built too, apart from sounding fun.
Hey Paul, great meeting you at the Bangalore Audiophile Meetup from Headphone Zone. Your review helped me get the Truthear Holas and I absolutely love them. Keep up the awesome work and looking forward to many more awesome videos from you. 😊
Hey paul i have Oppo enco M31 , don't know why there discontinued them but please can you make a detailed sound comparison video of them in every aspect like LDAC and Hi-res and put them against the IEM's under 2,000 rupees , please buddy it will be awesome to see this please
Thanks for the great review, As most of the budget IEMs don't last long due to build quality. Do you think it can survive 1+ years? & Have u tried kbear ks1 ?
They sound pretty good. In fact, I did a comparison of the iFi Go Link vs the ddHiFi DAC, and the Hola was surprisingly transparent for a set of IEMs in this price range.
@@PaulsPOV Thanks, i tried the Ti Kai 7hz Zero Blon 03 coffee bean and 10 pro and none of them sound good with the ifi go link, Ti Kai sounded ok with Twitch but that's it!
Hey brother I'm looking for an IEM with well balanced top notch sound signature and with a little bit of bass (not heavy enough to drop the vocal clarity). I'm a casual listener. Listening to music is my Main priority. Could you suggest me one. By the way great video. Thanks in advance
My favorites in this price segment are the KZ ZSN Pro X, Blon BL03, Tangzu Wan'er, CCA CXS and if you can stretch a little, the Simgot EW200 is a terrific set to listen to. Feel free to give my review on these a look if you'd like to.
Oh really? I need to try and listen to them back to back. I remember the 7Hz being more bass enthusiastic. But I do prefer the Hola's. They've had a more lasting impression on me.
I've seen more hype for qkz x hbb in audio communities, I like this product aesthetically, actually the one I mentioned before is even less pricey than hola 😂
@@PaulsPOV nah, that's KZ PR2, Qkz x hbb is a 1.5k set, qkz x hbb Khan is a 2 DD drivers... 3.5k I've seen many PPL really hyping the cheaper one qkz x hbb lol
I have cca cra as my first iems and loved the bass in that unfortunately one sided got drop in laundry and stop working after that so is truthear a good upgrade for me? I LIKE BASS, EDM GAMING
I quite like the ZSN Pro X and think it'll do great with these genres. It's soft around the edges in detail, which I prefer to sharper detailing. Sometimes, very sharp detail can tend to feel like it's piercing.
Hi brother..u doin great work Just need to ask with you..I am new to this iem section and am planning to buy one I prefer listening more soothing or melody peaceful kind of music...is there any iem which suits my preference ( my budget is around 2000 - 2500..as of now im thinking of buying tangzu waner SG)
The Tangzu is a great set! I quite like it. The others I'd recommend are the KZ Acoustics ZSN Pro X, 7Hz Salnotes Zero, and I've found these Hola's to be a terrific all-around beginner set to own as well. They all have slightly different "flavours" in sound. So feel free to have a look at my reviews on them to see which one would suit you better.
Want to get into IEMs (I've been using SoundMagic E10C since 2018, not sure if those count as IEMs). What would you recommend: these ones or KZ ZSN/KZ ZSN Pro/X?
Yes, yes, they are considered IEMs. I've tested the E11C and quite like them. I haven't tested the ZSN, but I have tested the ZSN Pro X, and it left me quite impressed. It's a set I really want to own myself, and the only thing keeping me away from buying it is that I'm not sure how much time I'll be able to commit to enjoying it. Feel free to watch my review on it if you haven't already. I go into detail about its sound, which is quite impressive for the price.
@@PaulsPOV Yeah, I've seen the vod of the Pro X and the E11c as well. The E10c was something that I liked a lot back then, so I bought the same pair again when it stopped working. But now I think it's a good time to move on from those, haha. Pro X it is.
I haven't tested the Red & Sonus, but amongst the others, the EW200 does carry over a little more detail. For my taste in music, I quite like the EW200. Feel free to watch my review on it.
these hola seems like they are made for me , but if i were to increase my budget a little higher ? which one do you suggest? i like the audio/sound to be energetic and i like to have a lil bit of bass
I quite like the Simgot EW200 that I reviewed recently. It's not bloated or as heavy in the bass that some people might like but has good definition there.
@@PaulsPOV watching your hola in depth review now , and loved the way u explained every aspect in your POV and also how something’s might affect us . Will check out the Simgot Ew200 , i really watch movies and stuff more and play games and music too
My favorites have been the Truthear Hola, KZ ZSN Pro X, 7Hz Salnotes Zero, Tangzu Wan'er, and Blon BL03. All of them are great to listen to with their own "flavours" in sound. Feel free to have a look at my in-depth reviews on them to understand them a little bit more.
hi sir , Like you I have tried the volume setup like u said ( Sportify 80 % > Windows 45% > DAC 15% ) like u said … volume is low but after listening to some time my ear are fatiguing or make me feel uncomfortable. I m currently using SteelSeries TUSQ with DAC (The E10 Olympus 2 by FiiO ). what do u think is the problem ?
Dear Sir, Thanks for your videos and the best part is Phone call testing👍. One request can you please do comparison between One Plus Pro , Pro 2 and Pro 2R. Which is the best value for money for ANC and features. Thanks in advance ❤
Could you suggest an IEM between the KZ ZEX and the Truthear Hola?? I enjoy watching movies and listening to music, and my sound preference is a balanced profile with a slight emphasis on bass and treble to make the listening experience more enjoyable. I also need them to be comfortable for long hours of use to avoid any discomfort in my ears. Please help me choose between the two options...
I prefer the Hola to the ZEX any day. The ZEX tends to be a little too bright and sibilant happy for my taste. Over longer listening sessions, that accentuated crispness can cause hearing fatigue. The Hola is a very safe and enjoyable set to invest in.
@@PaulsPOV also could you tell me about Kz X crn (zex pro) cuz it has same sound signature. Is it worth it to upgrade with them or what is the difference between truthear hola or kz x crn...
Sadly, I haven't yet reviewed the KZ X CRN, so I wouldn't want to give you any wrong information. It's worthwhile connecting with the guys at HeadphoneZone.in for more details about how they'd stand up against the Hola.
I quite like both of them, but the ZSN Pro X left me with a more lasting impression. I quite liked it and think it's the most fun I've had with IEMs for music.
As much as I like the Salnotes, I have heard of some build quality issues. I'd recommend the Truthear Hola. It's got a great build and a sound to match.
From this lot, the ZSN Pro X and Hola are my favorites and have healthy bass for IEMs. They won't be bloated and heavy like wireless earphones carry this range. I found the 7Hz Salnotes Zero to have prominent bass too which should be nice for the genres you've mentioned. The Hola is the best built and should be more of a long term investment.
I've been buying my stuff from them since 2018 but haven't had any issues with any of my products. I think they do offer some after sales service. It's worthwhile calling and speaking to someone there if you're nervous about it, but I think you should be in good hands.
@@PaulsPOV better won't be correct word, more like which one shall I go with considering the genre of music I mentioned. It'd be my first IEM, so I don't know much about them. I don't want my iem to sound too base heavy though
You can't go wrong with either of them, really. I've heard if some complaints about the Blons cable giving up in a matter of weeks and the 7Hz face plate popping off for some people. I'd you want a no-nonsense set, the Hola seems very well built. Sound wise, the Hola I term as being the "Goldilocks" set. They do everything just right. If, however, you want sharper detail and you're not sensitive to higher frequencies, consider the Tangzu Wan'er.
I have similar fit issue with left ear, Pixel buds A causes pain on left ear. Which IEMs would you recommend among TruthEar zero Red, Simgot EA500, TruthEar Hexa? Or if you have anything better around 5-6K range. Would love to hear back from you.
I am yet to review the IEMs you've mentioned. I do like the Simgot EW200 I recently reviewed. It can cause a slight discomfort for my left ear, but when I shift its placement slightly, I'm able to sit through longer listening sessions without any issues. Feel free to give my review on it a look.
@@PaulsPOV yeah i saw that too, I am just checking my taste first now. I wasn't happy with DT 770 pro, way to harsh for me so will sell them away, so now experimenting with cheaper IEMs first. Testing if I like Crinacle's tuning or not. As for dac, just to see what's this hi res hype is about, which one would you consider under 8k? portable one.
I've recently reviewed the iFi Go Link. It's a great little dongle DAC. I plan on expanding my audiophile reviews soon, so I should be getting my hands on more hardware.
Hey Paul can you suggest me an iem I'm a bit confused between these iem's Tangzu waner, hola,Chu,salnotes zero,kz,CCA etc I'm a guy who uses earphones like every hour more like Listening to music watching movies etc Is there is any iem that can give me a great experience in music genre like pop edm rock jazz and some times theme music of some great movies So what's your answer sir Edit: and one more thing currently I'm using realme buds 2 And Sony xb550 ap
Of the few you've mentioned, I quite like the Wan'er and Hola. The Wan'er may not seem as bass happy as the Hola, though. But a set I think is an all-rounder is the KZ ZSN Pro X, which will keep you quite happy. It's the one set that really left me with a lasting impression. Feel free to watch my review on it.
It is an older set, and there's never really any guarantee that these will last for years. With some people, it's lasted for well over 2years and, for some, less than a year. There's no saying, really. It depends on how well it's kept, etc. Many factors involved. If you're not sure about going for an older set, consider the Hola. It's a new model and pretty well put together. IEM sound wise, it's a well tuned, all-rounder.
could you tell me how it performs ingames, maybe some random clip of valorant game would be enough to test how directional sound is on holas. like if they got enough stage and can sense the distance and direction of the footsteps well. eomething like for example waner's have ultra compressed sound stage you can barely use them for gaming, while my old kz zsn pros got spaciousness and directional sound even tho it doesnt sound as good. i got this holas they still havent come so i would like to hear about this and maybe a bit more insight about how it performs with spinfit/any spinfit type tips(maybe long eartips aswell?). if you have those tips could you please check if it goes snug and well and mitigates the problem of wanting to place the earphones deeper in ear canal.
Staging with these is very similar to the Waner's stage when the wider bored tips are on them. Spatial presentation does have it limits with this, I'm not quite sure if it'll be better than the KZ, but something tells me the KZ will do a bit better with this and gaming. I dont have a set of spinfit eartips, but something tells me they're worth trying out.
@@PaulsPOVyou are probably the only reviewer who has put up the mic test sample ,which helped out too. Thanks i will go for the holas. Altho i love the waners packaging 😂
I quite like the Wan'er and wouldn't really say it's better or worse than other IEMs. It's got its own "flavour". I like to listen to it when I'm listening to choral or orchestral music. It's terrific with detail recovery. Not that the Hola is lacking, it just handles those genres of music better. The Hola is a nicer all round package with fuller bass and a little more vertical stage, so it should be better when it comes to a gaming sense.
@@PaulsPOV @PaulsPOV Yeah agreed. I have read one to many times reviews considering the 7hz too flat or boring for their taste & the waners similar to 7hz but with a better bass response. All of these are sidegrades to each other not so much of an upgrade. Love the waners in white color , so clean
I've found these Hola's to have a wide stage and can sometimes present a slight vertical stage as well when playing back well mixed tracks. Most other IEMs tend to be a little more restricted. Plus, it's the nature of closed IEMs and headphones to do that. Have you ever tried a set of open back headphones?
@@PaulsPOV Hey Paul, I have never tried those ones. I have used ZSN Pro and CCA NRA. And found ZSN a bit more wider, though both are very sharp in the upper range of the spectrum... I think I should consider an open-back. Can you suggest some?
@@PaulsPOV And for the mobility purpose, Hola seems like the only viable choice for me. Except for the fact it does not have USB C cable. I use Venture Abigail as my DAC. Is there any way I could get an cable replacement with USB C for HOLA?
A USB C cable for the Hola? I honestly don't know if that's a possibility because I haven't looked into it. I've only ever reviewed one set of open back IEMs, which was the CCA-CXS. I quite enjoyed it. Terrific build quality on it, too. Feel free to have a look at my review on it. I haven't tested the IEMs you've mentioned, but I did test the KZ ZEX. It was WAY too bright for me, this, as well as the CCA-CRA.
@@PaulsPOV Indeed. CCAs and KZs are way too bright to listen warm music. I think they missed the point and went for the details, where they completely messed up the character, a sound needs. That was why I was a bit sceptical about CXS as well. Also, I found the solution to the USB C cable. Venture Electronics - SPC-P. Comes with an inbuilt DAC, becomes very convenient to carry along rather than the extension USB-C DACs. I think I'll go with Truthear Hola, along with this cable.
Hi Paul, I am a beatboxer and I have been trying to get into more of noticing clarity and sounds which I am not able to achieve with my normal earphones, So want to buy my 1st IEM, and my love to bass is a bit more as I listen to such sounds a lot so which would you suggest me!?
Wow, that's pretty interesting, and the first time I'm seeing something like this in my comments. Honestly, every IEM I've reviewed so far in the affordable starter price range has blown me away when it comes to detail. Bass wise, perhaps the 7Hz Salnotes Zero will do well, but my favorites are the KZ ZSN Pro X and Truthear Hola presently. Feel free to have a look at my reviews on them. Hope this helps.
Can u suggest good pair of iems around 2k for long listening. I have small ears, so fit and comfort are very important. At present iam using using oneplus bullets z2 but i want to enter into audiophile segment. So, Please suggest iems with punchy bass with no compromise in mids and highs.
These Hola's are the latest ove reviewed, and they're well tuned. They've got a very nicely balanced sound with bass that's got a good kick when listening to a well recorded track. Apart from this, I've also liked the 7Hz Salnotes Zero, KZ ZSN Pro X, Tangzu Wan'er, and Blon BL03. You can't really go wrong with any of these, but if you like more bass, avoid the Tangzu. All of these have terrific detail and will be a great intro to the world of audiophilia. Hope this helps.
Hi, basshead here, I like bass a bit but not so extreme though and with bass I like bright sound too with some treble. Can you suggest between these - 7hz zero, hola, cca cra, csx, Tangzu wan'er, blon bl03 or if you can suggest out of these options.
CSX, I haven't gotten my hands on yet. I found the CRA to be a little too bright. I've quite liked the 7Hz, Tangzu, Hola, and Blon. But the most fun I've had has been with the KZ ZSN Pro X. It fits your description quite aptly, actually. Detail wise, the Tangzu Wan'er is my absolute favorite. It's not too strong in the bass region, but it's adequate and perfect for acoustic instruments. Feel free to watch my reviews on these.
@@PaulsPOV thanks for replying. Can you say the bass in Tangzu wan'er is clean and punchy? As I've said I don't like that extreme overpowering bass but rather clean punchy bass with some treble that make music fun and detailed.
It's well defined but it's a bit withheld. No bloat, no exaggeration. If you're listening to EDM, it won't be fun. Jazz, blues, anything natural sounding, the Tangzu is my preference to listen to. The Hola does have more of a bass presence than the Tangzu for sure. The Hola does have more body and if you like bass, you'll prefer it to the Tangzu. It's got good shine and sparkle in the highs too. Hope this helps.
Hello, I am going for hola but I'm debating between mic or without mic...it may sound stupid but i used to have Sony mdr xb55ap before I moved to Bluetooth ones...after an year or so the mic would stop working and then the side that has the mic stop working after that. All my wired earphones were damaged in the same way...so Im thinking no mic means one less point of failure 😅 was this even a case for damage, was this because of my usage..i have used it to the fullest everyday but never roughly... I don't know
It's a valid reason to he skeptical. If you're on a fence about it, you may as well get one without a mic to avoid this potential letdown in the future. To each his own.
Considering there are a load of IEMs in this price range, I'm sure there will be. But a set I really liked were the KZ ZSN ProX. It's not tuned the same way but is a very enjoyable set to listen to.
I prefer these over the Air Pro 3 any day. These have better dynamics, detail recovery, and stage for certain. When paired with a good DAC/Amp, they're even better performers. I've tested these with the iFi Go Link. Feel free to give my review on it a look.
Sir , I'm using android phone with C type output. Using rs 1,000 DAC is worthy and improve listening extension or use only rs 300 C to 3.5 connector ? Please suggest me . I have low budget.
Usually, converters or sub 3k DACs aren't the best sounding. You can buy one if you have a budget constraint, but consider picking up a better one in the future. I've found the iFi Go Link to be superb value for money even when compared to higher end gear.
Both are good! They have different "flavours" in sound. I found the 7Hz to be a little more bass focused, so I prefer the Hola. It's a little more balanced sounding.
Holds up well. It's got good detail but not quite as sharp in imaging. Where the Tangzu lacks in bass, this makes up for with a healthy amount of it. These are more enjoyable to listen to over all. If you prefer classical or only acoustic music and you're okay with a flatter bass response, the Tangzu is a nice set to own, otherwise, this is a great set if you want more depth.
@@PaulsPOV thanks for the very swift reply. I have ordered the wan'er for my friend as it was slightly cheaper in the sale. I'm also looking forward to try it with him. I currently have the blon Bl-03s. I'm wanting to to upgrade as well.
Ah, I quite liked the BL03 when I reviewed them. The Tangzu won't be as warm sounding, and it's not as excitable in the bass. The Hola is a nice set but I wouldn't call it an upgrade from the Blon. Rather, it's got a different "flavour" of sound. Have a look at the Simgot EW200 I reviewed recently. I quite like those.
@@PaulsPOV I also ordered the wan'er because I wanted to experience a different signature as well . I was looking at ew200 as well as ea500. Also eyeing the truthear hexas, zero:red,7hz sonus, tin t3+. I wanted to go the olinas but they're slightly out of budget.. the main thing I am looking for is good technicalities and a slightly warm signature.. thanks for the suggestion..
How is the sound quality comparing to Oppo enco air 2 pro. i wanna try IEM as a beginner so lil confused, does it worth buying while having enco air 2 pro ?!
It's a step in the direction of hearing cleaner details. I did a comparison between IEMs and TWS. Feel free to give that video a look for more information. It's worthwhile trying out to see whether it suits your pallet or not. Considering IEMs go for the prices they do now, it's easy to get into this Hi-Fi hobby. Mentioned video linked here - ruclips.net/video/jiPVuxs86MI/видео.html
Both are great with imaging, but overall, I do prefer the Hola. I found the Chu to be a little too bright sounding over longer listening sessions for my liking. I've spoken to a few other people who share the same experience. If you prefer bright sounding IEMs, the Chus would make more sense over the Hola. The Hola is a nicer all rounder when it comes to its presentation. It doesn't offend at all. I do prefer the Hola because of its character.
Again, both are great IEMs to own but do have slightly different "flavours". Of all of the IEMs that I've reviewed, I quite liked the KZ ZSN Pro X quite a lot. It did leave me with a lasting impression more than any other one. Feel free to watch my reviews on them if you haven't already. I go in to detail about them there.
Can you suggest me an iem my requirement are 1. It should be sound clear i.e great vocals 2. Great sound stage 3. I dont like too much bass but no bass makes listening music experience boring it sounds boring so medium bass is necesssary 4. My budget is 2000
I was planning to buy an IEM and I'm glad I came across your channel! Your videos are really great, veru detailed and well presented. Keep up the good work!🥳 Coming to my confusion, I'm a beginner audiophile with a strong intrest to EDM. I like bass heavy songs like Illenium's. But I would not like it if the bass is overpowering. I would like to hear as much as details the song have, vocals are also important. I'm not the most gentle usee, so it'd be better if it have a good build quality. I'm confused between this one (Truthear Hola) and KZ ZSN Pro X. What would you suggest!? Currently I was planning to buy the KZ ZSN Pro X along with a Venture Electronics - Avani DAC from Headphonezone.(one of the few dongle DACs I could find in budget.)
I dont have the KZ with me to do any A-B testing, but between the two, the KZ ZSN Pro X left me a lot more impressed when I tested them. I'd say they'll more likely quench your taste for when it comes to the bass delivery compared to the Hola. Usually, these IEMs aren't bass heavy like TWS earphones. Their priority is clarity. Accentuating bass can eat into that, so don't expect bloated bass. Rather, you'll experience a tighter and better structured bass delivery.
@@PaulsPOVDamn that was fast! Thanks for your response!! Yeah, I'm not expecting the kind of bass that TWS's provide. I've tried some TWS's but never owned one because I didn't like the way any of em sounded. I'd like good clarity and tight bass, so I'm gonna go with the KZ. Thanks again!
@@PaulsPOV Already saw it! Even before asking here, it had a big impact on me leaning towards the KZs.😁 And I ordered em just a while ago. Thanks for all your help! Have a good day mate!
Sir, I've 7hz salnotes zero but tell me which is better option between these four 1.7Hz Salnotes Zero 2.Truthear Hola 3.Tangzu Wan'er 4.Moondrop CHU 2(two) NOTE : Also let me know , if there are some better options than above mentioned IEMs under 25$
I haven't yet tested the Chu2 so can't really comment on it. Between the other 3, I quite like all of them, but they all have slightly different "flavours". Feel free to have a look at my reviews on them to get a feel for how they sound. The Hola seems to be the best all-rounder for me. It's not offensive in any range and has great detail. The Tangzu leans a bit more towards lighter music like classical etc and the 7Hz is great for detail and bass.
@@PaulsPOV Sir, Your reply seems confusing to me and presently I'm new to audiophile and I also don't have additional DAC/Amp. So can you tell me a clear winner 🏆 amongst these contestants ?
There isn't any "winner" in my books with these. They're not "better" or "worse" than one another. Each of them have their own characteristics in sound, so it'll help to know what it is your preferences are. Do you like bass? Do you prefer detail? Do you prefer wider staging? They all handle these areas differently, which is why it's worthwhile having an idea of what you like. It'll make things easier for you and someone else to guide you better when you have an idea about what you want. I go into a lot of detail about them in their reviews so you can give them a look and see which one you'd prefer.
hi sir , I'm a beginner audiophile. my friend recently gave me his old DAC (FiiO olympus 2 ) . it would be very helpful if you can answer few questions . 1) should we keep the volume high on DAC or Windows for best audio experience ? 2) what is the ideal volume to put on DAC and windows and Spotify (Windows app) ? (I mean whats the right combination of volume levels between them, for Example: 100% Volume on Windows and 10% on DAC and 100% on Spotify or vice versa.I want to enjoy music at safe levels and prevent hearing damage ) 3) what is the IEM that u would recomend under 2K ? ( looking for balacnce sound and comfortable in ear) 4) whats the max SAFE volume that we can go on SAMSUNG GALAXY BUDS 2 Pro without hearing damage ?
It's great to see you're concerned about hearing damage and loss. It's a very real problem being faced by many people today, even in very young age groups. The ideal way to set up your volume is to set it right from the source primarily. 0-20% is too low an output, you might get hiss and not much detail in the lower mids and bass when you increase the volume from your DAC/Amp. Set your primary source, not any higher than 80-85%. Try 90% and see how it sounds. If it's distorting or "clipping" go back down to 80%. Primary source feeding at 80% should give you a good and strong signal, after which your DAC/Amp may not need to go any higher than 30% or so. If you're listening to audio on speakers, you can download free app that show you the decibel levels in the room or the area you're in. Anything above 85db or 90db over 30mins of listening time can cause hearing loss in the long run. So it's best to be careful with your ears in loud environments. With regard to the Galaxy buds, I haven't tested them yet but usually I don't go above 50% volume with any TWS earphones so that should also be around that area. For IEMs, consider looking at these few that I have reviewed. I've got indepth reviews on all of them. KZ ZSN Pro X, Truthear Hola, Salnotes Zero, Blon BL03 and the Tangzu Wan'er. I have quite enjoyed each of these and all have slightly different "flavours" so it's worthwhile watching my reviews on them to see which one you'd prefer. But as per your description, I think you'd like the Truthear Hola. Hope this helps.
@@PaulsPOV thanks for the reply. Sir when u said " source " you mean Windows volume or Music player app volume (Sportify) or DAC volume ? I dont use speakers for my PC , I use IEM for my pc. sir, is there any software that show how much decibel that I am listing to ?
I use a sound meter app to show me the noise levels in areas. Decidlbel levels won't work digitally, it'll have to be after the noise occurs from a speaker or earphone. The apps on phones won't be able to tell you what dB your earphones are playing at as far as I know. When I say source, I mean, wherever the music is coming from. If you're playing from your computer, it shouldn't be more than 80%. If you also have volume control in ur fiio feeding your iems, it should be adjusted after you've set your computer to 80%. If you're playing from Spotify, I presume you're playing from your phone, this will be the source. It can be at 80% before your Amp stage. Whatever is amping your IEMs should ideally sit between 30-40%. If you're listening to volumes above 50% with IEMs, there's a possibility you've lost sensitivity, and it might be worthwhile going to meet an ENT specialist and an audiologist for a hearing test.
@@PaulsPOV no sir , I was talking about sportify app on windows PC ... my current Volumes are WINDOWS - 60% , DAC - 37.5 % , Sportify on PC - 50 % are these levels safe for ear ?
Between the two, the KZ ZSN Pro X left me a lot more impressed than the Hola. Both are great sets to own but I'd buy the Pro X if I had to choose between the two. One thing to keep in mind since you're coming from a set of TWS earphones is, these will not have a heaviness or bloat in the bass. These are tuned more toward having a more neutral sound and for clarity rather than thump. If you decide to pick up a set, I'd love to know what your impressions are between the TWS and IEMs, post 5 to 7 days of use. I have made a video on TWS vs IEMs, if you'd like to have a look at it, feel free.
Yes, sadly, Truthear has discontinued the Hola. Hopefully, there will be a newer model coming out soon. Meanwhile, in this price range, I quite like the KZ ZSN ProX, Tangzu Waner, Blon BL03, and CCA CXS. Feel free to give my reviews on these if you'd like to know how they perform.
@@PaulsPOVthnx bro for ur so quick & helpful reply Bro i already own blon bl03 & kz zsn pro x, is there any better one except these two, under 2k or 3k ?
I've only reviewed the DSP variant, not the one you're referring to. But I suspect it should sound good. Simgot has been doing some terrific stuff over the last year for sure.
Bro suggest me an iem With flat frequency response. I'm a music producer And i preffer the actual sound no color... Budget is tight 2.5k bdt throw the name of the durable one... Love from bd❤🎉
If you can stretch a bit, consider the Simgot EW200. I quite liked these. Otherwise, I quite like the Tangzu Wan'er in the more affordable range. Most others do have colour here and there. Feel free to have a look at my reviews on these if you'd like to.
Considering it has a 3.5mm output, I'm sure it'll be able to drive these since these have a low enough resistance. I'm not too sure about how it'll sound though, considering Light is going for a minimalist approach, the DAC/Amp is most likely not the best in it, like most phones. So that'll most likely be your bottle neck for audio consumption.
@@PaulsPOV Thanks for responding. That's a relief. The light phone downsamples all audio files to 256kbps mp3. Not exactly hi-fi I just wanted a nice chi-fi iem to present my low-fidelity music pleasingly! 😂 Great video, btw. I subbed!
I've tried these IEMs with low bit rates, too. It does a good job with it. It's not overly transparent, so the experience won't be ruined. Should you decide to pick up a Hi-Res player some day, they're bound to sound richer and fuller with your music.
They're all quite similar when it comes to their imaging, but I think the Tangzu Wan'er might be the sharpest with its detail recovery. It's very crisp and clear when you play audio from a good source.
@@PaulsPOV Does having more drivers like DD+BA or DD+EST mean more detail retrieval.... Or is it a myth? I used blon bl03, looking an upgrade. It's very good except detail and separation is lost in busy tracks.
There is some truth in this. More drivers don't necessarily equal more detail retrieval. It boils down to how these drivers are tuned. Having more drivers does take the load off one driver having to do everything, so this can lead to a better sound due to budget constraints. Having multiple drivers can give you a different experience compared to just having a dynamic driver for certain. If your priority is detail recovery in this budget, the Tangzu Wan'er should suit your pallet, but it's not too bass happy a set of IEMs. So, as expected, there's a trade-off with something or the other. If it had heavy bass, it would eat into the imaging a bit and mid range.
I haven't tried the qkz hbb yet, so I wouldn't want to give you any wrong information. I think the guys at HeadphoneZone might be able to guide you better when it comes to this.
Imaging from a set of speakers or earphones is the ability to be able to pick out specific nuances in the audio you're listening to. Speakers or earphones that aren't tuned or made well tend to have a very muddy presentation when it comes to this detail presentation, so you won't be able to listen or pick out the finer details in your audio. It's called imaging because you can visualize what you're listening to if the sound is clear and detailed. Soundstage is the space the audio sits in. If you're listening to two earphones, in this case, left and right, you can hear your audio from two sources, but you'll also hear your vocals from the center (phantom channel). It's called a phantom channel because you can hear from a source that doesn't exist. Much like this phantom channel, sound can appear to come at you from around a set of speakers or from further out of earphones/headphones. This leads to a wider soundstage experience. Usually, this is observed when listening to audiophile grade audio equipment and when you listen to high-quality audio files. Being able to listen to your music from within this bubble of stage gives you a more immersive audio experience and is usually more prominent with higher end equipment. Hope this helps.
@@PaulsPOV I hope we expect dedicated video on these terminologies which can helpful a lot to misic lovers like me.The definatiins of these terms may get from internet but dedicated video should really helpfull.
Both are nice IEMs with slightly different flavours in sound. I've heard of the Blon giving some cable issues after some time, so I'd rather point you in the direction of the Hola, which seems to have a better cable build.
@@PaulsPOV thanks a lot for replying. Can I drive the hola easily with my mobile or do I absolutely need a dac? Also am I going to get a similar sound stage in hola like we get in blon?
Your phone should work fine. With a DAC/Amp you're bound to get slightly better imaging and stage and better amping as well. The Hola has left me a little more impressed than the Blon03 when it comes to its staging as it does have a slight vertical stage when listening to good recordings.
Both are great sets, really. I do prefer the bass on this. The Tangzu left me wanting for bass but is terrific with imaging. I'd say the Hola is a nicer all-rounder.
I am using ccz coffee bean under rs.2000 (v shaped iem) I don't like bass . I like balance signature. Confused between HOLA, 7HZ ZERO, tangzu wan'er. *Hola i doubt the cable quality & does it fit any 3rd party cabe as the 2 pin connector is in a hole *tangzu wan'er i doubt the build quality & kz type 2 pin connector *7hz zero has too bad eartips choice compared to previous two. So which one to buy? Any suggestion?
Between these three, I've found myself preferring the Tangzu for imaging and the Hola as an all-rounder. The build quality of the Hola seems a little more premium. No glue visible, and cable is well made, too. I'm not too sure about what cables will fit it, if you're into cable swapping. The 7Hz build is at par with most IEMs in this price range, but it didn't leave me as impressed as these two on a sound and build front.
The few IEMs I have, none of their cables fit the Hola. The Hola needs a cable with two pins that extend without an outter casing. All the ones I have, have this outter casing. So if you want to cable swap, this is something you'll have to keep in mind.
If you're more into detail and you're okay with a thinner bass response, the Tangzu is great to own. The Hola performs pretty well as an all-rounder but isn't as pristine with its detail. I'd go with the Hola for a more fun filled listening session and the Tangzu for more classical, jazz, blues sessions.
I'd say if you prefer more focus toward imaging and detail recovery, the Wan'er is the one to go for, whereas as if you prefer a little more emphasis in the lower frequencies, the Hola is more fun to listen to. Both perform well with imaging, but the Wan'er seems to be a little more militant with its approach toward it compared to the Hola.
hi , do i really need a DAC if my smartphone has 3.5mm jack ? also im going to purchase pixel 7 , will there be any issue with connecting DAC to pixel 7 ? the DAC im going to use is venture electronics abigail pro
You don't "need" a DAC if you have a 3.5mm jack because there will be one feeding an amp chip that feeds the 3.5mm. Having a better external DAC or dongle DAC will most likely improve detail and amping for your IEMs or headphones. You shouldn't have an issue connecting one to a Pixel. The Abigail should do fine.

also the only one i found that bothered to demonstrate microphone quality.
@@PaulsPOVhow it is for gaming
Good wide and slight vertical stage makes it more immersive. It'll be fun.
Thanks 😊
Sadly, I don't have a 7Hz unit lying around.
@@PaulsPOV That's a bummer. Will you be reviewing the new Moondrop Chu 2 ? Be interesting to see if you prefer that one over the Hola.
It's part of my plan, yes. But most likely, in the month of November.
hi sir great review i was confused between moondrop chu 2 or truthear hola , looking to buy my first pair of iem what would you recommend for daily music listening because in the studio i use byerdynamic dt990 pros , need your recommendation
I haven't yet tested the Chu2 but quite like the Hola. For the price they're great sounding and have good detail too. Don't expect DT990 Pro levels of energy, staging and imaging. But I would recommend the Hola. It's well built too, apart from sounding fun.

As most of the budget IEMs don't last long due to build quality.
Do you think it can survive 1+ years?
& Have u tried kbear ks1 ?
Yes, I think this should last longer than that, provided it doesn't go through any rough use. I haven't tried the kbear ks1.
How did these sound with the ifi link go? I subbed on this review alone👍
I have hola and 7hz salanotes zero, and i always pick the hola’s, comfortable, smooth and fun listening experience
What's your take on the bass response between the two of them? Is the 7Hz fuller, and does it have more of a kick?
@@PaulsPOV 7hz zero lack bass, hola are more fuller
Isn't the KZ X HBB a planar magnetic driver set of IEMs? I thought that sits around 4-5k?

Would you recommend these or the KZ zsn pros if one listens to mostly metal, rock and instrumental music
I quite like the ZSN Pro X and think it'll do great with these genres. It's soft around the edges in detail, which I prefer to sharper detailing. Sometimes, very sharp detail can tend to feel like it's piercing.
Hi brother..u doin great work
Just need to ask with you..I am new to this iem section and am planning to buy one
I prefer listening more soothing or melody peaceful kind of music...is there any iem which suits my preference ( my budget is around 2000 - 2500..as of now im thinking of buying tangzu waner SG)
Pro X it is.

these hola seems like they are made for me , but if i were to increase my budget a little higher ? which one do you suggest? i like the audio/sound to be energetic and i like to have a lil bit of bass

Hi Syed. I dont have any plans to review OnePlus products in the near future just yet, but I'll try and get my hands on these products for review.
Super review ❤️🔥
@PaulsPOV kz zsn pro x vs hola which one is best
I quite like both of them, but the ZSN Pro X left me with a more lasting impression. I quite liked it and think it's the most fun I've had with IEMs for music.
Should I buy Salnotes Zero or Truthear Hola? I don't listen to music alot, mostly I use it for gaming or watch movies.
As much as I like the Salnotes, I have heard of some build quality issues. I'd recommend the Truthear Hola. It's got a great build and a sound to match.
Truth hear hola vs moondrop chu 2? Which one is better for neutral sound, because i am a drummer and want a flat response headset
I haven't heard the Chu2 yet, so I wouldn't want to give you any wrong information.
Shall you post the review about moondrop space travel
Which one is better for latest Bollywood rock music, kz zex , truth hear hola, kz zsn pro x, wan'er sg.? Or any other?
From this lot, the ZSN Pro X and Hola are my favorites and have healthy bass for IEMs. They won't be bloated and heavy like wireless earphones carry this range. I found the 7Hz Salnotes Zero to have prominent bass too which should be nice for the genres you've mentioned. The Hola is the best built and should be more of a long term investment.
Will it be safe to buy from headphonezone? I'm specially concerned about after market service ...
I've been buying my stuff from them since 2018 but haven't had any issues with any of my products. I think they do offer some after sales service. It's worthwhile calling and speaking to someone there if you're nervous about it, but I think you should be in good hands.
1 doubt the item showed in headphone zone says without mic. And the one you reviewed showed mic?? Where can we we get the one with mic?
They may not have stock for it right now. Worthwhile asking them when it's in if you want a set with a mic.
Truth hola vs zero which one you choose
is blon 03 better than Truthear Hola and Salnotes zero? I generally listen to shoegaze, indie, country, jazz and blues. Which one should I go with?
What do you mean by "better"? What are your priorities?
@@PaulsPOV thanks a lot Paul, really appreciate your feedback.. seems like I'll have to get my hands on Hola!

Of the few you've mentioned, I quite like the Wan'er and Hola. The Wan'er may not seem as bass happy as the Hola, though. @@PaulsPOV hey Paul I just brought salnotes zero today,
Now should I invest my money on truth hear hola too ?
could you tell me how it performs ingames, maybe some random clip of valorant game would be enough to test how directional sound is on holas. like if they got enough stage and can sense the distance and direction of the footsteps well. eomething like for example waner's have ultra compressed sound stage you can barely use them for gaming, while my old kz zsn pros got spaciousness and directional sound even tho it doesnt sound as good. i got this holas they still havent come so i would like to hear about this and maybe a bit more insight about how it performs with spinfit/any spinfit type tips(maybe long eartips aswell?). if you have those tips could you please check if it goes snug and well and mitigates the problem of wanting to place the earphones deeper in ear canal.
How did u like th holas for positional audio bro? I am thinking of getting this for comp gaming too. Confused btw salnotes waner and holas
I've found the holas to handle placement pretty well. Vertical staging was more prominent on the Hola's than the other two you've mentioned.

Hi. I am looking for buds that could be wide and airy in their presentation. Which one would you suggest under 2k range?
Hi Paul, I am a beatboxer and I have been trying to get into more of noticing clarity and sounds which I am not able to achieve with my normal earphones,
So want to buy my 1st IEM, and my love to bass is a bit more as I listen to such sounds a lot so which would you suggest me!?
Wow, that's pretty interesting, and the first time I'm seeing something like this in my comments. Also I heard Tangzu Wa'ner SG has good bass! Is this recommendable?
It's sensitive to recordings. So, if you're listening to a bad recording, it won't perform well. It depends entirely on its source.
Hi I am back asking if this Truth Hear Holla is recommended by you based on my previous comments?
@@PaulsPOV between 7hz , blon bl03 and Hola which one you will suggest?
As much as I like all of them, I'd go for the Hola. They all have their own "flavours," but I quite like the Hola.
To each his own.
can you please suggest a portable dac & amp for Hola ? not much costly.
I've been enjoying using the iFi Go Link. Would reccomend. Feel free to have a look at my review on it.
i couldnt find any website in india which sell truthear hola. from where did you buy this? is there any website selling this iem?
Very sadly, they've been discontinued, so there's no new stock coming into India. There's talk about a newer version coming soon though.
@@PaulsPOV that's unfortunate. is there any iem which come closer to truthear hola's tuning?
Considering there are a load of IEMs in this price range, I'm sure there will be. But a set I really liked were the KZ ZSN ProX. It's not tuned the same way but is a very enjoyable set to listen to.
How do IEMs like this compare to TWS in this range or slightly above, like the Oppo Enco air 3 pro in terms of sound?
I prefer these over the Air Pro 3 any day. These have better dynamics, detail recovery, and stage for certain. When paired with a good DAC/Amp, they're even better performers. I've tested these with the iFi Go Link. Feel free to give my review on it a look.
Sir ,
I'm using android phone with C type output.
@@PaulsPOV thank you for the reply!

Sir please suggest me best IEM under 2000 with a good bass
Bro comparatively which one is good? truthear hola or 7hz salnotes zero..???
Both are good! They have different "flavours" in sound. I found the 7Hz to be a little more bass focused, so I prefer the Hola. It's a little more balanced sounding.
Thank you so much bro🫰🥰
Just ordered some to go with my ifi link go thanks👍
Enjoy your new IEMs 😊
How does this compare to the Tangzu Wan'er?

I'll try to get my hands on these for review.
hey what will you suggest bw moondrop chu v hola , i want good detailed audio ,not much bass but not low also.comfortable for long hours
@@PaulsPOV thanks for quick response also what is your opinion on KZ ZSN and 7HZ salnotes compared to these two
Again, both are great IEMs to own but do have slightly different "flavours".
It should be sound clear i.e great vocals
2. Great sound stage

I was planning to buy an IEM and I'm glad I came across your channel! Your videos are really great, veru detailed and well presented. Keep up the good work!🥳
Coming to my confusion, I'm a beginner audiophile with a strong intrest to EDM.

1.7Hz Salnotes Zero
2.Truthear Hola
3.Tangzu Wan'er
4.Moondrop CHU 2(two)
NOTE : Also let me know , if there are some better options than above mentioned IEMs under 25$
I haven't yet tested the Chu2 so can't really comment on it.
Tangzu Wan'er OR Truthear Hola

Tangzu, for if you prefer sharper detail and crisper highs, Hola for if you want slightly softer highs and slight vertical stage.

hi sir , I'm a beginner audiophile. my friend recently gave me his old DAC (FiiO olympus 2 ) . it would be very helpful if you can answer few questions .
1) should we keep the volume high on DAC or Windows for best audio experience ?
2) what is the ideal volume to put on DAC and windows and Spotify (Windows app) ?
(I mean whats the right combination of volume levels between them, for Example: 100% Volume on Windows and 10% on DAC and 100% on Spotify or vice versa.I want to enjoy music at safe levels and prevent hearing damage )
3) what is the IEM that u would recomend under 2K ? ( looking for balacnce sound and comfortable in ear)
4) whats the max SAFE volume that we can go on SAMSUNG GALAXY BUDS 2 Pro without hearing damage ?
This is how it's feeding then...Spotify>Windows>DAC/Amp - ideal levels should be 80%>80%> % that's is comfortable to your ears.
zsn pro X or truthear hola ?., I’m someone trying to switch to iems from AirPods Pro .
Hola vs cca pla 13 is it worth investing 2k more

How these are as compared to KZ ZEX..?
I prefer these over the ZEX. The ZEX is a little too bright for my taste.

If you prefer heavier bass, the 7Hz should carry that with more enthusiasm. The Hola is more balanced sounding. I prefer the Hola.

Can we use this one as normal earphones i mean day to day normal use?
Absolutely, yes!
Is it good for metal , heavy metal?
Detail wise, yes. Bass heaviness wise, you might want to tweak it slightly for a little more body.
I don't have a smartphone. I have a light phone 2 that isn't compatible with dongle DACs. Can I get away with driving these adequately with my phone?
How will they perform when used for gaming?
Good detail, good stage, quick response time. It'll work well. Better than any TWS for sure.
What are the most detailted/hi-res IEMs around 2k price?
@@PaulsPOV Thanks Paul!

I haven't tried the qkz hbb yet, so I wouldn't want to give you any wrong information. I think the guys at HeadphoneZone might be able to guide you better when it comes to this.
some terminology you used is unknown to me.can you explain those terminology which helps us to understand them .
Hi Arjun, what terminologies would you like to know?
@@PaulsPOV the terminology like sound imaging, sound stage, ect
That's a good idea for a video.
Can I expect good quality of sound without dac through these?
Yes. A DAC will improve detail and roundedness in the sound, but it'll have diminishing returns.
Blon bl03 vs truthear hola. Which one is better?

Confused between HOLA, 7HZ ZERO, tangzu wan'er.
*Hola i doubt the cable quality & does it fit any 3rd party cabe as the 2 pin connector is in a hole
*tangzu wan'er i doubt the build quality & kz type 2 pin connector
*7hz zero has too bad eartips choice compared to previous two.
@@PaulsPOV sir will u please check that hola can fit other 2 pin cable?
Sure, I'll check and let you know in a few days time.
@@PaulsPOV thanks sir
The few IEMs I have, none of their cables fit the Hola. The Hola needs a cable with two pins that extend without an outter casing. All the ones I have, have this outter casing. So if you want to cable swap, this is something you'll have to keep in mind.
This vs Tangzu wan'er?
If you're more into detail and you're okay with a thinner bass response, the Tangzu is great to own. The Hola performs pretty well as an all-rounder but isn't as pristine with its detail. I'd go with the Hola for a more fun filled listening session and the Tangzu for more classical, jazz, blues sessions.
Now comes the ultimate question... Hola or wan'er ?? Lol
