Anything Kuro Game does is an absolute masterpiece. Considering Punishing Gray Raven is a mobile game and even so, surpases the quality level of lots of AAA games, just imagine how this would do, being a PC new generation game. More adult, more dark, even the atmosphere and combat feels closer to dark souls than genshin impact. PD: By the way Punishing Gray Raven is gonna be soon on PC, seems like the perfect moment for you to fully experience it.
That what I love Vanguard, they know how to hype through their music. What I love about this Flow, is you can actually hear the "waves" that forms this song, all of them move with harmony. AND MAN, THE CHORUS dropping with their chanting, as if many voices were calling out through an destroyed world, and you, the Rover, hear their plight. And by that moment, you know why you are here and what is your goal.
I'll be honest, though correct me if I'm wrong. PGR and Wuthering Waves have music that strikes me as minimalist, but godly epic. Like few tunes and rhyme alone could convey hundred dozens
From what we know so far Wuthering Waves gameplay and maybe even story will be deeply tied to the concept of sound, which is fucking interesting on itself 💕 I honestly can't wait to see how the game will turn out because I'm just so hyped 🙏
The music gives me feeling of Solitary new beginning. Sense of vengeance over something that has disturbed the natural flow of life. Second music: A music of sacrifice... Violence and rage.
I am really happy to see Wuthering Waves getting some love! Especially after their gameplay release in september I don't know if Marco will see this but i hope you'll react or at least listen in your free time to Crescent Moon from Gundam:Iron Blooded Orphans, anyways, keep up the good work!
Vanguard studio is just that good overall. You should also try Aether Gazer, Girls Frontline, and Annomutationem. They worked on them too Or maybe try listening to their calm & emotional tracks
I'm so there day 1, minute 1 for Wuthering Waves. One of my most anticipated games to come out. I'm interested in how the story will unfold, and how the music will sound in the areas. I have faith that they'll do a great job based on how PGR in China is doing; it just keeps ramping up in how utterly cool it is!
@@peacechan4500 yeah, I was there when it all happened. But I'm very glad I stuck around with pgr. Even if it's not great I imagine I won't have as much animosity towards Wuthering than something like Genshin game wise. But I'd have to wait and see.
You reacted to so many Vanguard Sound musics... I wish you also react to the ones they made for Girls Frontline too ! I would really like to hear your thoughts about it
Kuro is as talented as Hoyoverse It really sucks that, only now, they're doing marketing (lack of marketing was kinda why PGR didn't become as famous as Honkai despite the combat and OST, plus the Global release controversy over $1 increase in prices for in-game purchase) Everyone has to learn about these games
As far as I know, they didn't market pgr well since their first game "Twin Tails Rising" failed. Kuro was tight on money unfortunately and put most money into development
The menu for Wuthering FEELS SO CINEMATIC LIKE TO MY EARS. I dont know how to describe it besides earfully cinematic lol maybe there is a word but I don't know it The bosses are gonna be insane and ost just like pgr I hope lol
Marco!!! Once again you surprise me with the content you put out. Thank you so much for reacting to the music in this game. The same game devs and music studio that made PGR are creating WW its AWESOME!! It seems like the lore of WW will be centralized around sound which is such a unique take for a game to base their story off of, so I'm expecting some absolute bangers in the future.
Also idk if you know it yet, but Wuthering Waves is developed by Kuro Games, PGR's developer! and there's some of the open-world ost on here on yt, but it's better to listen during the game release for the final product imo Edit: there's also another of their ost from their preview trailer called "ANTINOMIA" by Anti-General (they also have worked for PGR osts before)
I highly anticipate this game with all my heart. This Opening track - "Flow" was one of the reasons I got hooked. Non the less, made by the producers of PGR. It's so viceral, as you said, dark, grim world where hope is nearly lost and only few have survived etc. It gives me these survival vibes. A waves of unlimited evil approaching our way but there is still hope. Little hope but there is. I can't wait! 🙏
Fr. I actually loved the CBT 1 footage. The atmosphere looked dark, the bosses looked really difficult and the story looked even better. I know they needed to show that they 'listen to their playerbase' and decided to change it. But since most of the playerbase were used to the 'other game', they wanted WuWa to be more like it. And that took apart WuWa's uniqueness. :( But I still love the current version they released. Hopefully, they bring back the Vangard Music in the future patches
Oh wow, look at that ❤️ "electronic music that hops hard with beautiful and layered ethereal vocals" (neoclassical darkwave, not sure if Halloweak fits this category but still) might be my favorite genre out there. Like you said, it's so unique and we don't see it around very often (which is a shame). Akiko Shikata (already reacted here), Kokia and one of my faves ever Yuki Kajiura all make music like that, it's so freaking incredible.
Ooooo the first song sounds so scifi sand a little tribal with the voices and drums. Im excited for this game and will gladly add it to my daily roster alongside Genshin. I hope it has a nice roster of pullable male characters. Question for PGR fans: is the lore deeper or as deep as Genshin? Are there any characters similar to Scaramouche? (tons of references that fit seamlessly into the character’s lore)?
imo the lore is deep esp the next two patch after this patch, and it will keep getting better and better. for references tho, they dont really put it on one character (not that i know of), but for overall references, Panini (chibi animation of pgr, not lore accurate) is the way!
Yes! PGR's lore is so rich and deep. It even reminds me of illustrations from the Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag specially those machines where bio-matter and mechanical parts merged creating a biological-machine hybrid. I'd even argue that PGR's story-telling hit me right in the feels more than Genshin did since it employs a non-meandering darker and more mature story-telling. The only issue at least for me is that the great story is presented through visual novels which could be long sometimes but still worth the read.
fr tho, and some people think that this theme is over-exaggerating like wtf, i found elden ring has banger music at start and everyone loved it like huhhh??
As an addendum to what other people have been saying, as I know you already plan to look at more PGR music, when you do get around to some songs like LAMIA I highly also recommend looking at a video of the boss fight along with the song, the song by itself is an absolutely amazing banger but the boss fight in tandem with it is absolutely pure Sakuga and is a unique experience that enhances the best parts about the song’s energy. It’s also the theme for the current patch in PGR Global

I've been watching some of your videos, especially since you started looking at some PGR songs, but I'm surprised Wuthering Waves got on your radar considering how under it it's been so far. As you say though, fantastic music. If you've found videos capturing the game's town music, it also has some very good violins in to express melancholic peace. Wuthering Waves seems to have an ongoing motif about sound, just going by the title itself. Not sure what it will indicate about the music quality of the game itself, but it is interesting, especially given your musical background. One of the characters apparently might literally be named "Encore", according to theory crafting.
