- A quick rundown of all the Bow attacks. This video is about me learning and figuring out the weapon. This is not a complete weapon tutorial because this is not the complete game yet. I want to wait for the full game to be released to do that. If i missed something, please let me know.

Thanks man, you're the only guy on the whole of internet that I could find that talks at all about bow and mounting.
Excited to try it out myself tomorrow!
Great video! I really like the comprehensive explanation of nuanced mechanics. Did not know that the Charged Sidestep perfect dodge gave max charge or that tracers gave max charge attacks.
Tracer buffing damage AND making all shots lv 3 is Crazy 😭😭😭😭 lmaooo
ikr 20 dmg per arrow on a low rank gear imagine the master rank bow damage can dish 🤣
@@HRZ_12dont have to cuz this thing is getting nerfed
Says you@@magistrate7009
Awesome bow guide! This is one weapon I'm not really familiar with but I will definitely use it more in Wilds.
The best Bow guide!
You explain well ❤
So tracer increases the charge levels, I did not notice that. But now I enjoy the bunny arrow (My nickname for the jumping shot) even more with its five arrows. And I think a really good addition is that you can press L3 while in focus mode to use your active slinger ammo
Great video
Not sure how it will be on release, but judging by beta the Bow is shaping up to be the ultimate wound popper in Wilds. Just look in the monster’s general direction, lock on in focus mode and unleash a swarm of arrows followed by a dragon piercer. All from a good distance away.
bow is looking soo smooth and fun holly f. not like LS but a good second
It's way more unique though, since half the community are ls mains...
Two things you can rely on in MH,
Longsword is op
Everyone is playing it
@@Jaevwynwho is everyone? From my perspective, everyone ends up playing bowgun 😑
Only been playing bow so far and it's good fun and feels pretty strong dps wise. Especially popping a load of fuse arrows, wounds and the tracer with your focus attack and following up all of that with a dragon piercer deals a ton of damage and often times knocks the monster.
As far as the playstyle goes, I just keep up coatings and tracer at all times, which actually is pretty often. I don't know what the best dps rotation is though. Probably charged shot dash, into arc shot whenever the monster is stationary into more charged shots + quick shot. But what I don't know is where to fit the thousand dragons/dragon piercer in. Probably just to pop the fuse arrows.
Also playing bow is pretty input intensive and nothing you gonna chill on (same as in worlds).. Not sure if I can play this for hundrets of hours.
Does charging a tracer arrow change the amount of time it lasts or the amount of times you can shoot it before it detonates?
What do you think the go to combo rotation will be?
Duration and damage of arrows do not change with Tracer Level.
@@Vycery Thanks. Any thoughts on the combos?
imho bow was at its best in rise with the shorter counter dash
Do Bows have shot types like in Old MH/Rise where each Bow has a unique layout on what type of shot they do depending on the charge level with power shots always being 1 level higher then the previous shot as example LV1 Pierce 3, LV2 Rapid 3, LV3 Spread 4, LV4 Spread 5, or is it like in World where R2 is always Rapid, powershot is always Spread and Dragonpiercer is Pierce?
Probably more like World. We only had one Bow to look at but from that alone we can assume that Shot Types are not a thing in Wilds. We also have Pierce Coating, which is completely new.
@Vycery sad i liked it that each bow had different shot types made each bow more unique.
you should be able to sidestep and press Y and you will do a jump arrow stab that should mount the monster over time as it did in world
Nope, it does the Flying Swallow Shot now
am I the only one that liked the HUD in MH Worlds better?
Dragon piercer is so much better now
I guess flying swallow doesn't do mounting damage then. Sad
It doesn't.
RIP Crit Draw DP spam
Hey Vycery,
do you think the changes to bow gameplay makes it less aim (skill) dependent?
I played mostly bow during beta and managing trick arrow gauge, tracer arrow and coatings, was way less fun for me than the charging sidestep into shooting in iceborne, where i have to aim every shot (playing M/K, so not moving the camera for auto aim in iceborne is not an option). In short: aiming every shot is more fun than managing stuff, imo ofc.
Tracer arrow is way too strong imo, I would like to see a change, where the player has the option to either shot a tracer or to aim every shot manually with higer risk (of missing a shot) comes higher reward (a bit more damage).
I do agree, Tracer Arrow is too strong. It gives too many benefits compared to how much work you have to put in. Not only do you gain homing arrows, but also all arrows are highest charge level, your range is insane and you gain a 70% damage increase just by using the Tracer. That is more than using Power Coating. Imo Tracer needs to be a damage reduction instead of a damage increase. That will reward players that aim manually and is still helping newer players to get used to bow.
@@Vycery Tracer Arrow is getting a nerf and seems the gameplay is shifting towards the World: Iceborne playstyle, atleast a bit. I like.

With the damage of the charges not increasing the damage anymore, wouldn't that mean, if we get bow charge plus. Isn't it even MORE important than before? Before it was already a big damage boost, but did not increase the max arrow numbers. If now it increases the max arrow numbers, which it would need to, isn't it a damage increase from 17.5% (powershot volley 1/6th increase in damage 1 more arrow from 6) to up to 33% for normal shots (1/3rd more from 3 to 4 arrows)?
@vycery one day I will beat your mastery at bow sensei lol
I've not played much bow, but after charging sidestep, I find it hard to adjust my aim and then press O. Is there any techniques I can practise, or that I have to claw on my right hand?
It takes practice. You can try to pre aim on the target. That means, you already aim in the direction you want to shoot before the dash is completed.
Appreciate the reply @Vycery. Hope this can be part of a video guide next time when you make one!
anyone know how to do that jumping opener move that shoots 1 strong arrow?
Go behind a monster that didn't spot you yet and you will see a prompt for a Sneak Attack.
Flying swallow didnt trigger mounting?
Right... I'm going to need some clarification on the mounting because what's the "melee attack" for the bow if you can't use your knife anymore?
Its in the video in the last part...the only way( that he know of for now ) is doing dmg while in the air after u jump from seikret or a ledge...so no melee anymore for bow i guess
Thats why i ask him,
is flying swallow( the jump shot, which is a new move )
can use to deal mounting dmg too? Still waiting for an answer tho
It doesn't build up mount.
@@kazraycrawley203 The melee attack is stabbing them with an arrow (if you were asking about the animation).
Tracers are really OP compared to normal shooting. Is there even any point in learning to aim anymore?
Aiming with bow was never particularly difficult
bow was pretty much a shotgun before and you were probably closer to the monster than longsword players... but to answer your question... no, tracer arrow should be on the monster at all times except when going for a focus shot to pop fuse arrows and wounds, where it's not super necessary.
I thought bow is a lot more complicated time to learn it... Right beta is over for me
It actually made me sad that the tracer arrow is THIS GOOD.
There was no incentive of aiming manually without the tracer, it just makes you not miss AND gives you more damage. Couple with the arrow gauge filling that fast... I don't know, seems too cheap.
Best weapon. Change my mind!
bow is 100% gonna get nerfed on release lol
Ppl used to play bow they know that they killed the bow .. we cant be free anymore as a bow players
What do you mean by that? I’m a bow main since world and I’m not sure what you mean by that. To me the bow feels like it got some nice upgrades and feels really good with a higher learning curve than before
@@digitalkirby8441 It definitely does NOT have a higher learning curve than before. It’s much easier to pick up now - I mean it has lock on homing shots for crying out loud.
