God how miss THE 80s great films , FANTASTIC music, TV shows , clothes , great hair , we always had something to do as teens. We went roller skating , ice skating , actually drove over to our friends houses if the landline was busy , went to the mall that was booming with people . As teens we actually verbally communicated with other humans . We made eye contact with others . We would make jokes about each other and ourselves, we knew how to laugh at a joke . Every generation believes theirs was the best , I get it , but after the 80s early 90s things changed for society and imo not for the better . Wow watching this trailer brought back just how good things were . Thank you
Things were still similar to this in the mid 90s. The internet is really what changed things. That was really when culture started to shift.

The first one is great, but the characters became close friends since then. The dialogue and experience shared deems this, in my opinion, as the best buddy action-comedy film ever.

Agreed, after watching the trilogy I can say that the first two movies are better than the 3rd entry. Let's hope that Beverly Hills Cop 4 does a better job since the director's behind Bad Boys For Life are involved with the project.
@@tonymata8070 Not too confident about part 4. Look at how Coming To America 2 turned out. And while Bad Boys For Life had great moments, it definitely paled in comparison to the first two. I especially hated all the focus on the lame millennial computer geek squad taking shine from Will and Martin.
@@kendallrivers1119 That's an old comment, I found out that the directors left the project to pursue Batgirl... unfortunately it's been erased for tax purposes.
Now the film has a new director in Mark Molloy, and I found out that several cast members from the first two films return like Judge Reinhold, Paul Reiser, John Ashton and Bronson Pinchot.
The film is currently titled as "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley."
Having watched Axel F, I can say that it is a bit better than BHC II, but the first BHC remains the best in my opinion.

People love to rag on old trailers, but the trailers for the first two Beverly Hills Cop films still stand up. They're so much fun, and perfectly reflect the two films.

Just saw part 4 and while i like it for what it was. Watching it and then seeing just the trailers of this one and the first movie shows just how different making movies was in the 80s vs now. The comedy in the eighties movies are just way more natural and actually funny as opposed to what passes for comedy now. Plus the action is too CGI filled and cartoonish today too. Idk why it's so hard to make comedies today but we're definitely struggling.
Eddie is so good I love Cop 2 because I was born in 87. Some great films were out that year.
A very underrated sequel. The first was the best but this was a pretty damn good follow up! I'd even say as great a sequel as Lethal Weapon 2, Rush Hour 2, The Empire Stikes Back, The Godfather Part 2 etc.
It's better than the first in some ways, but Murphy's own performance isn't one of them. Here, while great, he seems to be playing himself a bit more.
@SalemGhassanHanna I can see that. To be fair Eddie Murphy of 1987 was a very different guy from the one that was in 1984. That said the first one is still the best out of all the sequels including part 4.

Very surprised Judge Reinhold couldn’t sustain his career... he was very funny and had multiple good roles in many classic 80’s movies. I’m guessing “Vice Versa” was the beginning of the end...

Why the bad press? The movie is as entertaining as BHC1. It's as tightly written and executed as before and equally laid-back and improvisational (excellent cast and superb Eddie Murphy with his effortless brand of charm and wit).
The first one is superior but I always thought 2 was a pretty good sequel and like you said it still had that charm we all love so much. I think people were expecting it to blow the first one out the water so their expectations got too high and left disappointed.

Life advice. Go into any job interview with an axel foley level of confidence, humor, and just enough finesse of bullsh*t. Guarantee it’ll out you in one of the front runners for position. Charisma and confidence with just the slightest about of believable bluffing goes so far.

Very surprised this is a very underrated movie right here I was not expecting this to be that good after watching the first one but this was by far the best one, Great plot very funny and I love the villains, I think watching this in 2024 part 2 was what part 1 should have been, The axle Foley Guy has great game great manipulator great con artist throughout the movie this definitely gets a 8 out of 10 I like this movie that much way better than the first one way better!!!

Beverly Hills Cop was a 7.5 at best. Beverly Hills Cop 2 was a solid 10 no question. Beverly Hills Cop 3 was maybe a 2.5.

Gah, I just watched I and II. For some reason II was pretty bad. Which is strange as it was directed by Tony Scott, a great film maker.
I'm going to say something that will probably annoy some people: I liked BHC 2 better than the first movie. There was more character interaction in this movie than the first, the first was all about Axel and the rest were just side-characters in BHC1.
In this movie, it's a team and the music was excellent, possibly better than the first's. Lots of action and possibly funnier lines, Taggert & Rosewood get a lot more lines and interaction with Axel.
All the characters just seem more developed. THe weakest link in this movie were the 2 antagonists, Bridigette Neilson and the other guy, they have NO acting talent in "this" movie. If we had better bad guys, the movie would have been better.
