Yeah it's canon that Chara never forced us to keep doing genocide, they only gave us consequences for it. In fact Chara strongly encouraged us not to ever do it again. Idk where people got the idea that Chara was the antagonist is the game.
Bit late but I think it’s how the line “Since when were you the one in control?” Was interpreted. Many took it as meaning that Chara was in control of Frisk throughout the genocide run, and that Chara was the one killing all the monsters.

One youtuber take Undertale and look at Frisk, make a research and go for that Frisk is somewhere in they preteen years. It's quite good opinion, becouse:
- Is portrate as a child (preteen is still a child)
- Toriel worries about theyr education (preteens go to gymnasium or 6-8 class of primary school.
- Is quite in different height in different rooms or situation (in Librarby is quite tall when standing next to books regal (idk how to write it, sorry))
- Temmie says they're height and it's 120 something cm as I remember (preteen can be that shmol) . Also the fact that Toby Fox didn't make accurate sprites for everything/dveryone.
For me, that makes sense becouse of dating Papyrus and Alphys. Writing skills are resonable and monsters becouse of height can take Frisk younger than they are. Also the fact that Frisk can read.
