MSC has done a great job revitalizing and caring for this island. I don't have young children so have little interest in the water park aspect on the cocoa island. I travel on msc for the private island experience. The underwater experience snorkeling with the ocean life is amazing. So many fish, turtles, live conch to be seen. Comes down to your island experience preference.
I visited Cococay years ago and absolutely fell in love with the beautiful island!! I love that you could see the beauty all around and the small shopping huts.. I felt like I had been dropped on a island from a movie. We went back a couple of months so we could take our children. However, at the time the dock wasn’t built and bad weather caused us to have to change itineraries!! Fast forward til the past December me and my husband decide to take another cruise with our 2 younger children 20 & 17.. it was so overwhelming, crowded and felt like a huge water park. We heard others taking how they didn’t like it anymore. However there’s obvious many that do like it as well.. we have raised 5 kids, 2 still at home and raising grand babies now.. I want to feel like I’m at a island NOT a waterpark…I want the beauty of mostly a island. Not what I can get in the USA….everything is so over commercialized that it was hard to be in the middle and see the beauty anymore. Plus we heard people on the slide side was waiting an hour or more just to go down a slide?? My heart was broke because I fell in love with what Cococay use to be. I just seen a couple we watch on cruise on the MSC on their island and it’s is stunning. It’s exactly what I’m looking for. For my needs. We have been pretty much Royal snobs that will be jumping ships to get to go on MSC’s private island.. we can NOT wait!!
Perfect Day all the way!!! Was disappointed in Ocean Cay last week - tram transportation wasn't frequent enough, getting an umbrella was like finding food on Hunger games, not enough cruise staff to manage bars and junkanoo parade was not spectacular.
i’m going on MSC in September i’m very glad that I chose them especially because I enjoy the quiet less crowded beaches. I’m going for my 41 st birthday so no children are going.
Us too. We’re on both the 3d and the 10th. This is what made us choose MSC a second time. The island offers a much more relaxed and calm feeling. No feeling crowded or like your at a water park in some midwestern city.
Ocean Cay > Coco Cay. Imagine having two 5000 passenger ships parked on a tiny island. Way too many people on Coco Cay. We always overnight on Ocean Cay, it’s way more laid back. The side walks all over the island make for great jogging paths. Having the ship dock directly on the island makes it easy to go back and forth. You don’t feel obligated to pack a days worth of activities in a short time. The smaller amount of people and longer amount of time make for a much more pleasant experience.
never been to ocean cay, but that night time party on the beach is all i need to hear. I never use the slides and tourist stuff at coco cay anyway, we spend all our time at the beach or the bar
I really wish you had provided details as of time of filming as to the cost of the waterpark. I believe it is very expensive. I live in upstate New York and we have access to one of the United States best water parks at $40 a day sometimes less. Pretty sure that waterpark is very expensive. Does anyone know the cost?
I am a coco cay girl all the way❤I am a loyal too royal😂 But what’s you opinion on msc because I heard it was very bad but I have never been. What’s your thoughts?😮
We went to Ocean Cay last week . It’s laid back and you either have to do a excursion or just lay on the beaches . But we enjoyed it , it’s what you make out of it . If you do go though stick with the beach where the boat docks . That way you will get a chair in the shade if you get their quick enough . Forget the island buffet and do the food trucks .
No it’s not bad. It’s different. It’s a European cruise line and so catered for European culture. The services is attentive but not OTT. They serve your food, ask of everything is okay and leave you to eat which is what is Europeans want. When I was in the states everything is so tip focused and so I was alway bombarded with this fake OTT happy smiley constant lingering and trying to be my friend vibe which I can’t stand. The food is catered for European palates. Many years ago the EU went on a health initiative and reduced salt and sugar in all our foods and that’s how we are use to eating now. Americans will say MSC food is bland, but I find American food too salty and rich. It’s what you are use to. There are 6 languages spoke on MSC Italian French, Spanish, English, Portuguese, German and I love that but many don’t. I guess the big question is how open minded are you for trying new cultures? This isn’t an American cruise line and I’m so glad it’s not. There are other places in the world and o don’t think the ultimate goal should be to make everything like American cruise lines. MSC is unique and different and I’m so happy for that as it suits my tastes.
@@bexinthebox …I didn’t see much of a difference between our MSC cruise or any other cruise line we have used . There is less of a food selection on MSC compared to the other cruise lines .
Honestly... its totaly stupid. Wasting time for those island location instead going to some intresting and real places. and what we can do on island? the same what on the ship: swim on swimming pools, drink in the bars, go to open space on the sun, attend some events...

Ocean Kay is great for the more laid back experience. Really enjoy the less touristy vibe

This is a great comprehensive comparison. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching, Kiki!!
Glad it was helpful!
I'll be checking out MSCs soon and I'm glad we can enjoy it at night. That sounds beautiful. And I also love the "less touristy" look to it.
I will be on the MSC seashore for the October 19th sailing. This will be my first MSC cruise. And my 2nd solo cruise. And my 50th 🎂 🥳 birthday!
I like them both
Perfect Day.......All day.
Ocean Cay. Loved it
I'm traveling to Ocean Cay next week, but Coco Cay was AMAZING!!!!
From what I get, one is targeted to an adults only vibe while the other is to a family friendly experience. I think both have their merits.

Isn’t Cay pronounced as Key? Love your videos! I have learned so much!
Supposed to ryhyme with Day
If something is written as Quay, it's pronounced Key
Either way is considered to be correct.
Royal Caribbean pronounces it "cay" to rhyme with "day".

Did cocoa cay in aug and ocean cay in dec. Both are great but ocean cay is better imo.

I'd take Ocean Cay any day!

Ocean Cay lost me with having to rent an umbrella. With the heat, it's cruel not to have umbrellas free of charge to get people out of the sun.
There are plenty of free umbrellas.
Royal is 10x better to sail on than msc…but I like ocean cay a lot better than coco. The msc prices are very reasonable for things to do on the island
I glad you think like that. There's a secret with MSC. I just hope no one finds out.
@@acehigh4636I think msc is starting to get popular with people being driven away from the big 3
Found mscs ocean cay very disappointing to be honest.a lot of people seemed to get back on the ship very early
All the better. More of the island to myself
