I thought the price of these things looked outrageous, then you see inside. Christ, its a work of art.
Hi how much would it be in U.S. dollars ?
@@sheepseven7588 around 10k
I agree, the carbon fiber makes it look like a Formula 1. If only they could sell for 3000€ and not 9000.
@@Kref3 Only 10K? There are bikes in the Tour de France that are much more costly than that.
In the thumbnail, it looked like Jor-El sending his son Kal-El away from the town to save him from a catastrophic exploration.
These vehicles are great. I love them. I would love to see them incorporate a hitch/towbar so that a trailer can be towed.
What, no pedals for Theo? I would make him do most the pedaling!
I know im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a method to get back into an instagram account?
I was dumb lost my login password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me!
@Enzo Cristiano instablaster :)
@Castiel Karson thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Castiel Karson it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my account!
@Enzo Cristiano You are welcome :D
Wow! There is the ultimate long distance velo. Lovely!
Thanks for Sharing! I can see these Quattro Velo's crossing the San Francisco Bay and Golden Gate Bridges on a regular commuting basis!
Thank you so much for these videos as we will be on the market for some of these vehicles! PS You've got a very pleasant manner about you, excellent spokesperson.
Beautiful construction and engineering. Thanks for sharing - I'd love to try one of the these
All you need is another sprocket behind the seat for Theo, and you have have power assist!
Beautiful machine, good review, and I'm glad it's working out so well for you and Theo!
Tangerine Dream?
An intriguing machine, beautifully done. I would be probably even more intrigued had I not situated myself in one of the few places in Florida that actually has hills. I suspect moving on 80 lb machine uphill is not quite as much fun as zipping along in the flats cheating the air resistance.
47f0, You are missing half the fun: Going down the other side. VERY fast! :-).
@@coniow - no doubt. As long as there is a well-equipped hospital with a cardiac unit at the bottom of the hill. Sigh... I may have to bow to the inevitability of my increasing decrepitude and introduce a little electricity into my life - or at least into my cycling propulsion. It seems that the well-oiled machine that was my body half a century ago has developed a few somewhat dodgy bits.
that's really a cool recumbent, I'd love to give one a try some day.
Cool as a cucumber. Jesus Christ loves you and can keep you cool forever 🙏❤️💯✝️
I wish only these vehicles would be allowed on city streets
Itd be paradise
@@the.communist I agree, and the aggression levels would be comical!
@@oligopolyxyz8456 probably needs some kitchen knives attached, for downforce and to keep people from ramming you.
Not in America you don't... Unless you have a death wish.
Soon mate
Thanks for sharing your experience. But video recording is so stressful
beautiful Velo! I have never seen a velo with a back seat like that... very cool you can have your son along on the ride!
very informative John what a nice machine, as for the hair cut its taking some getting used to much cooler I'm sure though, keep em coming mate.
Great review. It gives a good insight into the functionality of this Velo.
Hi, I like watching your channel, a bit out of my price league, but I think to be a really practical alternative to a car you need electrical assist on these machines. Most velomobile youtube videos are made where its flat or going down hill. Give it some decent electricity and I wouldnt mind having one, creeping up hills at a snail pace would have me regretting buying one.
I agree with electric assistance it’s a real game changer. But all heavy bikes are slow uphill, I’m touring at the moment on a regular bike and barely move up some of the longer hills.
WOW Bikefix - I bought a folding bike from them in 1998, great to see that they are still going strong !!
Great review. Nice to see how the child seat works. Maybe I have to order one for my son 🤔
If your Quest was ”Questie” then this should be ”Quatrie” 😂
... or Velie?
3:15 I love how you pronounced 'Lelystad' haha.
WOW! That is incredible! Thanks for the share.
Thank you for a great presentation!
Superb Idea, the children's seat! And a really nice vm!
A couple of ideas using Stewart's nut comment. The scalded cashew? Butternut? Thanks for the tour.....awesome!!!!
It's funny that your friend has the same shoe's as I do, I love the way they Chris cross and No tying them. I would call your ride Crank work orange. or cranky for short. If I lived in a place cooler then Las Vegas ( 110+ ) Id have a velo.
Somebody in my area drives one of these around in my area Time to time very unique vehicle
If this dude lived in the USA he would sound like Dave Chappelle 😂😂....
Tron has arrived,I can see these at, velo dromes. Super fast!
Nice edition!
What a beautiful machine👍 I was going to ask about riding in the hot humid heat but I see you said it was no problem👍... I mentioned a while ago I was thinking about getting a HP Velotechnic scorpion but once I'd seen this machine I was thinking I like the aerodynamics, protection from weather and it had loads of storage, all positives for me plus a possible excellent touring machine👍... I know they are very pricey and who knows what is going on with Brexit and the exchange rate but I think I may visit and try one out BUT I'm thinking of going touring in Australia end of next year BUT unlike the HP scorpion which is foldable, the Quattro is not so getting it on a plane might be tricky, I could saw it in half😂... I wonder if you might have any contacts, mates who have cycled in Oz but traveled from the UK with their bikes? I imagine it might cost a couple of quid or might be deemed freight so can't go on the plane I will be in🤔... Anyway that is one cracking machine and I'm looking forward to hearing more about it. Cheers, Nick✌️
I think you should reconsider calling the QV Donnie. Get a cheap wig, glue it to the race hood, comb it into an impossible pompadour and let the wind created your speed reveal the hood is really bald.
Now that I think of it you could also call the QV Boris... Same plan as above.
10k $... I'm not rich enough to even buy half of such bike… :'(
Took me a minute to realise you said "Lelystad" because you pronounced it so differently 😂.
Same here to this Dutchie. Sounded great though. Let's see.. would this be helping John somewhat? Lay Lee Stud (the "u" sounding like the "a" in awesome). Nah.. let's stick to his version.
"Orange you glad" you got the quattro velo? :)
I'd be curious what the things are you like about it or what makes it so comfortable? Is it mostly about good suspension? Stability? Or that it's really stylish and beautiful? ;)
Call it freedom, cause u and ur son enjoy it!!!!
Call it sinaasappel dutch for orange
Call it "Alex", after the lead character in "A Clockwork Orange" played by Malcolm McDowell.
The 'Green Meany' will attract more comments
Nice looking velo ps what happened to your locks???
Loving the music at the start, i've not heard anything like that mix before - thanks for sharing. ;-)
It's from Billie Eillish, pretty much the biggest artist these days!
And a backseat ! Now, that is special. It’s obviously a nice machine. Now, how practical is it ? How useful ? Do you commute with it really ? Is it really part of your everyday life ? How do you secure it ? I’m kind of ambivalent with velomobiles, they’re wonderful but also pointless in a way. I’d love them to be the answer to our problems but i’m not sure.
Well it is orange and it is Dutch, how about William?
Velos are so cool, Diamond frame bikes not so much
Diamond frame bikes are simple machines, velos arent
How talk do you need to be for a quatrovelo?
Bad ass. I didn't know this existed
The thing is to pretty to drive on the road. To bad it doesn't come with pontoon attachments so you could take it out on the lake or river.
Did he say "Tardis" at 2:12?
Would make a good dog seat for a more realistic Mad Max car in the post apocalypse.
Nice one mesellf own a quest and i love it.
6:30 with 4 wheels you need good suspension, otherwise you go on 3 wheels :D This is important. I am curious whether Podbike and Podride both have full suspension... have to check
Gevaarlijk karretje .
very interested in this vehicle concept, I was wondering if there were effective anti-theft systems...?
winna winna chicken dinna 100% british😂
Hi John from down under, great video I have watched it a few times over last two years and after this I ordered one and it’s coming in 3 to 4 months time they tell I can’t wait. I wanted to know what the battery was that you got from Amazon before I order a second one just as you said they are 50 pounds lol I don’t know what that is in dollars but if I can get them cheaper on Amazon in the long run to do that, could you tell me the name of the Batteries please do they come in different sizes at all. Thanks John I watch all your videos.👍🏻💪🏻😀
I find the quattro really intriguing. I live in rural Wales (lots of single width country lanes) and have never seen one on the roads around here.
A couple of questions, if you have the time:
How is reversing dealt with?
What is the suspension like on cobbled/unpaved roads?
Thanks, Dave.
Hi, reversing is dealt with by sticking your heels through two slots that have been cut away in the floor and scooting backwards. It handles cobbles and bumpy surfaces ok due to the soft ride, you do have to go slowly incase it bottoms out as it does sit low.
Looks really nice and more. Wow!
Grats QV looks like a dream lol..first of your vids iv seen since you lost your dreads .......i think you should grow them back
Times a great healer ;)
@@velo-ads4206 sorry M8 did some thing happen ? to cause the dread loss i meant no disrespect or harm
@@kyoatbites7865 no offence taken, I meant you will get used to it
Great to catch up with you today at the London Freecycle...
So clever. Will they make an electric one too? How much do they cost and where from? Answers appreciated.
Three of my mates have electric one's, they installed the motor themselves. Bike available from Velomobiel.nl
obviously it is "The General Flea"
You should call it The Flying Dutchman ;-)
Is there a list of you choice of music some where? Like all of it, because its all something new, and thus far I haven't heard one I haven't liked!
A complete list please!
There isn't a list, it's all from sound cloud and the last 20 Vlogs I think have a link to the music in the discription.
Tango bullet.. anybody remember the advert ,you got tango,d ,John you got tango,d
If you crash into someone you can shout "you've been Tango-ed"
“I’m gonna go for a piss first” 😂
For the name I like Clementine or Clock Work Orange! 🍊
slap electric motors and batteries and id be down!!lol...
Enrique Ponce unfortunately for any decent speed it’s illegal
@@jamalhalili2173 I think it is legal as long as it deactivates when going +25kph or surpasses a certain power treshold
Go solar, make the top flat and slap cells (it's actually a thing, look up solar velomobile)
How about "The Duke of Orange" Would look good in calligraphy upon it's side's. Is it a E bike yet? If I ever can afford it, that would be the rig I'd buy.
I think it may be an e bike when I'm a little bit older, but for now I like it as it is.
I'm a velofan I'm getting a PEBL bike I'm waiting on October to Order one
Very cool
Impressive recumbent
Tangerine Dream.
Peel.
Fruity
Enjoy that beast with Theo. Double the fun.
t
The Quest was still a great velo things always progress get better and better
Oh, what a beautiful coffin racing car !
The Chinese has stole someone's ideal again
“The Gobbler” it eats up the kms and the road
The Tangerine Scream
Great exercise look after it
Looks verry nice. What is the pricetag on something like that ?
www.velomobiel.nl/fietsen/
I wish I could get my insurance to pay for one. Lol
nice
I suggest the name: *Suzi* because…
Suzi Quatro of course!
Woah that's awesome
son should wear the cap. And it should say: Look dad, no hands! :D
It looks fun. Too bad I can’t fit in it.😂
Looks neat. What is the turning radius? Thx
Surprised you can get up a hill with a 90lb velomobile. I assume you have tall gearing for speed. With a schlump mountain drive which I think you said you have , giving 250% your lower gears still going to be quite high.
Nice job
You make a good case for the quattro. When will we see a review of the alpha?
Yep it's about to be posted.
Is it really good aerodynamic to have the sides curve in and out, instead of straight lines??? 🤔
Sweet machine
Ah crap looks quircky and fun as hell, but i think im to big for it....
Hi there, Good video and nice velo to..👍👍
Is this Quattro Velo electrically assisted, or pure HP? Also, will it go in the snow?
When he said slip clutch, did he mean clutch-type limited slip differential? I'm trying to find out information on the drivetrain, could you tell me what that part is?
Looked it up, it's actually a double freewheel system.
Nutshell no doubt
Hey I see you’ve shaved your dreadlocks off, which is a shame..... seeing as they were your most defining feature, and you made them look good. By the way... who thinks it would be a good idea to make a FAT TIRE Velomobile?
QUAT-work Orange
Good day from Atlanta
here's a second name for it....WiNwiN🙂
oh and a name "Mandarin Fizz"
You said it: ”Orange 1”
Looks cool
You should call it Dixie
It's very easy for someone to understand why Noone is buying them - you would feel inside as you have been layed in a coffin... Which is bad, as the potential is big!
