My favourite song of all time. Still can't believe that it's been 54 years since it was released. Just goes to show how well it had passed down the years and people still love it now. RIP Paul and Barry, you are both very sorely missed 💞
I was fourteen y.o. when this song came out... it still sends shivers up & down my spine even now, all these years later. And what a good-looking young man he was.
This was and still is a great song deserved to be No1 in the UK but had to settle for No2 as did a lot of records in the 60s and 70s that are now considered classics but unlike today they are standing the test of time as this one proves just brilliant.
One Almighty Monumental Standout Classic From The 60's. From The Brilliant Mr Barry Ryan Along With His Brother Paul. Thank You And God Bless For This And Many More Memories You Have Left Us All To Enjoy.
@@kdp8133 in approximately 1970 we had a family holiday on the Isle of Wight and attended a summer show at the theatre in Shanklin. I can’t recall much about it other than the Ryan twins were the stars of the show.
@ I never said Paul sang this song Eloise on it’s recording for release in the charts only that Paul did appear in this video as well as Barry but didn’t sing the song on record or on live appearances as he did write this masterpiece, Barry acknowledged this in the video the reason for the 2 of them to be appearing in the video but not shown together RIP dear ones 😢😢 I will always remember seeing you both at New Brighton tower ballroom during the mid 1960’s at the Radio Caroline big Zowie event show, looking so cute 🥰 by the way their names are Paul and Barry Ryan, their surname is Ryan, Paul being the songwriter and Barry the singer, I was lucky to see them as a duo at the venue mentioned during the mid 60’s up on that stage singing their hits before they split as a duo and before Eloise was released as a solo hit for Barry, a genius of a song written by his twin brother Paul ✨who never sang with Barry as a duo again officially but was the brains behind Barry’s success 💕🎶🎵🎶
Tja leider sind Schon sehr viele Menschen im Himmel und singen dort ihre schönen Hits, die schöne alte Zeit ist nicht mehr so wie zur Jugend Zeit, sehr schade,!!! Aber die Erinnerung bleibt,
Boli to krásne časy, šťastný ten, čo ich prežil. Už sa nikdy nezopakujú. Krása bola krásou, kultúra bola kultúrou a ľudia boli ľuďmi.
I was thinking politically unacceptable thoughts but I guess the years have had an effect on us both (less for me as I am still here)😂😂😂. But………….an old woman can dream…
This song was an icon amidst icons of music of the richest time of musical creation in human history. It's genius has yet to be recognised. My memory is dedicated to Elizabeth of England, who I let go amidst the vacuousness of youth of that era... Elizabeth of the burn-scarred hand who I love to this day.
My memories of this song a child is Radio Caroline playing it in North-sea, an imagining this boat bobing up an down, quiet part of song where North-sea calms an there is this radio station at peace.
Paul and Barry. Born in Leeds: as Paul and Barry Sapherson. My late girlfriend (Jennie Sapherson) was their half sister. Loved “Eloise” when it came out, but first knew of the connection about 15 years ago.
I think I have heard that song only once on the past. Is like too modern on that time, now it sounds like a rock pop musical of the sixties 🎵 it sounds romantic and kind. Is strange but I like it somehow, is only a humble opinion....😅🎉 Dicember 16, 2024.
60's, 70's 80's music still the best😊😊
Oh yeah, the pain of teen love! I'm 72 now - wonderful memories!
Yes
72 me too...😊
I named my daughter Eloise after this song...
We named one of our Welsh Section B broodmares after the song. 😂
Great song, brings me back to my youth

After 50 years I still love this song.
Thanks for sharing.
56 years now......as we move into the 21st century we realise this has to be one of the greatest musical works ever by Paul and Barry Ryan. 1968.
I also recall that there was nothing else quite like it at the time. The song & its production was rather special.
One of the greatest song of all time ❤
Yo estoy escuchando esta gran canción. Me encanta. Diciembre 16 2024. Un recuerdazo único. Puro talento del cantante. Una voz única. ❤❤❤

Timeless ❤️
I knew the first time I heard this in the 60s that this was a classic, same with stairway to heaven. But this has not had the fame due.
Allways this song impresd me❤
The song was actually written by Barry’s twin brother Paul. Their mother Marion Ryan was a popular British singer of the 1950s.
Yes, I remember them as Paul and Barry Ryan; my older sister was crazy about them. Sadly Paul died of cancer in 1992. My mother liked their mother.
