I would like to trumpet one day that I achieve to domain of English speaking.
Hi Lisa, it’s so awesome watching your videos. As a result of a loving relation between my pretty German Mom and my handsome American Dad I was raised with both languages, German and English. Although I got to know my Dad pretty late in my life - I must have been 10 years old, but there was still enough time catching up all those idiomatic expressions more or less automatically. A lots of memories are coming up when hearing you talking about examples like “to hit the road” etc. And there is a special one that I’ll never forget, when my Dad said: “Andy, it’s late now, we’re better off to hit the sacks”. Later on in my life I became an English teacher myself. And ever since I’ve been considered a so called near native speaker. During the time of 1985 and 1991 I worked as a flight attendant with Lufthansa. And it’s always been a great compliment to me when passengers couldn’t figure out where I’m actually originating from. Some of them guessed Australia others said England or the USA. I was satisfied when they didn’t figure out that actually I am German. The point was, that many years ago I started playing with my original American accent because I wanted to sound British when doing the boarding announcements , I started pronouncing words like British do. And suddenly a kind of a mixture arose in my pronunciation. Even my American relatives asked me “what’s going on with your pronunciation?” But the more often I visited them, my natural American sound came back again and I am grateful for that. I hope you don’t mind me showing some of your videos to my students. Thank you very much for having brought back so many memories of the time that I’d spent with my Dad in America. Andy

Thanks a lot for your videos! They’re really great! But I have a question: Why do you say: „I’m attrnded a week-long conference”? - 11:04 I would be grateful if you could explain it tk me. Thanks again!

Great. Thank you very so much. You are a born teacher! Can you make some videos explaining captivating classic books or novels? If you explain it sentence by sentence, that would be fantastic. Thank you
