    I really admire how, even in such a critical mission, the leaders still questioned the risks and prioritised the safety of their own men. It shows their commitment to the team, even when tasked with taking down a target as high-profile as UBL

      Risk is always factored in, the value of the target will just increase the acceptable level of risk. "End the war tonight" missions will be authorized one ways while routine training is very low accepted risk.

    One of my favorite movies. Covering the meticulous fieldwork and frustration over several years that provided a strong hint of UBL's location. The realism and how scenes play out not with music and sound effects but quietly, methodically. If you wanted non-stop shooting and hand-to-hand combat with scene cuts every second, this is not the movie for you.

      If you're working in an artificially lit hangar and the doors open up to daylight, everyone walking in will be silhouettes to you. Same effect as if you're looking at someone and they're right in front of a parked car with its headlights on.

      @@thevet2009 that was one of my bigger gripes about this movie. It was a typical hollywood move to make it seem like it was one girl-boss leading the charge to hunt down and find Bin Laden. She finally did and ordered a bunch of big tough guys around to do her dirty work. James Bond and Rambo don't exist in the real world, its a complex effort involving many teams of individuals.

      She spent 12 years, her entire career, focusing on eliminating one sole target. If she had the physical ability/training to do it herself it’s clear she would, for the reasons you have mentioned. But this is how she needed the actual operatives putting their lives on the line to understand that this is the real thing.

There's always been this big argument about them not using Delta due to AO's but if we're really dropping all the bullshit and being intellectually honest with ourselves they used SEALS/Devgru because they knew this would either be public or semi-public in terms of limelight attention.

    Lacks the firepower of a Blackhawk?! I know there’s an MH-60 but just for everyone’s reference, a UH-60 has the same firepower as your standard Toyota Prius which is to say NONE! Luckily the door gunners have mounts for an M-60 or 240B but the Utility Helicopters (UH60 and 46) are inherently not AH or Attack Helicopters (AH-64 Apache for example) which has armament.
    Hollywood always queers shit up.
