@R4nd0m_m4n the manga is really good for DMDP and they seem to be adapting it pretty faithfully, aside from cutting down on some of the fan service, so I'm feeling good about it.

The dangers in my heart was a surprise favorite for me, the first few episodes don’t give much to bite on but it is one of the most fantastic slowly evolving character development I’ve seen in an anime, you’re just watching and it goes from two people who don’t know each other to crushing hardcore without you even realizing, if you like romance I’d highly recommend. It captures the feelings of that first crush amazingly
As an insomniac, i used to go urban exploring when i was younger. And when i first got a girlfriend who i was on "sleeping together" basis, i found out that i get to have a goods nice rest when i was sleeping with her. I feel like Insomniac after school realy get insomniacs, and its a nice story as well. I like it.
I went into Oshi no Ko knowing NOTHING. It was the best decision I made this season. I have also read a lot of Raeliana's webtoon and it has some interesting twists.
To me, I feel like Oshi No Ko was an unexpected one. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I have. It hasn't even gone down in quality after that first episode, which was a big fear given it was an hour and a half long movie basically. Also, Heavenly Delusion gave me MASSIVE Shinsekai Yori vibes. I have been thoroughly enjoying this series so far.
I watched most of the first season and the 3-episode prequel/background and it was not bad, but it felt kind of pointless after a while. The ending song was great, though.
@Robyn Gatomon As someone who's been following the manga for years, it takes a little bit to start introducing the different parties, but it gets wild and I love it. Whether it makes it better for other people depends on them though, but I think it's excellent once it starts going.
I honestly feel like Mashle is kinda being misunderstood. Like, it's clearly trying to be a silly comedy/parody of fantasy and shonen stuff, so of course it's going to use the most generic magic world and just call it straight up Magic World.
He went into a comedy expecting a shounen so of course he ended up getting disappointed. I guess that happens when you're an anime reviewer and have to keep up with so many every season.
It's obvoius HP parody and I laughed hard watching Malfoy wannabe squashed into dirt. It might be show of one joke, but it still keeps up after three or so episodes.
@@jackmanleblanc2518 - No no. He was expecting an action shonen. Shonen in whole has various categories with the top five being drama, sports, action, romance and comedy. The last one is Shonen Jump’s bread and butter which is why SpyxFamily has been doing very well in Japan and is why One Piece is so big because yes it does have action but it also has a lot of comedy which is the biggest draw. Same reason why DB is still a major thing over there as it usually has a high focus on the comedy aspect. Plus when you think on it this is also why MHA as well as Naruto, Demon Slayer and JJK have dominated as both also incorporate a lot of comedic moments. However because six of the series mentioned do have a decent amount of action in it, it’s led to most people here in the US to have the misconception that shonen is just action, when in truth it’s not. What proves this most is a couple popular series known as Death Note and Promised Neverland which is from Shonen Jump and categorize as shonen despite both not being anything like the other shonen series I mentioned. So yeah the more you know everyone.
I think I've been too immersed in manhwa because Raeliana is so... well-known in the circle, it was highly anticipated. It's kind of funny hearing someone talk about it like it's so unknown. It's a pretty good story for the korean version of this genre, I hope people enjoy it and I'm excited about more korean titles getting anime releases!
Kudos for talking about "My Clueless First Friend", as several "I have watched EVERY spring 2023 anime" videos don't even mention it. Even more kudos for putting it on the "keep" list. After the first episode, it only gets better, with episode 4 as its current highlight. If they keep adapting the manga in the same manner, there will be some more highlights to be expected later in the season, as this story has some unexpected depth to it, while still remaining lighthearted in nature. Sleeper gem series, imo.
"Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion" the story gets pretty crazy. I wish it would get a full adaptation since the web manga/manhwa is finished and the story is soooo good.
I'm loving Mashle, it was a pleasant surprise for me. I was needing a pickup after finishing the first season of Made in Abyss (since I was very depressed) I just randomly selected Mashle and it is so funny, for me is a must watch if you need a laugh
It's a great comic relief! The generic genericness of the magical kingdom of magic makes sense as silly comic relief. Especially with Hogwarts at home being bamboozled by an oblivious beefy muggle. Lots of fun!
Insomniacs and Otaku Elf are my two main shows this season, I've read a lot of the manga for both and the quirky humor of Elf gets me, as well as the ongoing bits of Edo history that get brought in. Also I have spent a lot of time in the neighborhood near where the story is set, so seeing familiar sights is a plus. Insomniacs is just a nice relaxing rom-com, the protagonists are adorable, along with supporting characters who actually support, and the thing that draws them together being insomnia making them night owls is something I've dealt with before. Also they get involved with astronomy and astrophotography which are hobbies I've dabbled in. All in all, this show has definite Yuru Camp vibes along with a nice little romance.
Dead mount death play is one of those mystery show that take some time for it to start running. It written by the same author of baccano and durarara, Narita so you can reat assured that the story freaking slap. Right now it still is setting up the character so please watch it till they introduce Solitaire at least as it get really good when he is among the cast(also it a bit like Narita other story where there multiple plot point is happening everywhere with each character has their own pov and goal but this one put more imphasis on the Main character, Corpse god).
Man, the first thing that came to my mind for that one anime with that one guy with no magic, in a world of magic, was One Punch Man. I'm really loving it so far.
I hope you'll keep up with The Dangers in My Heart. As someone who has read a fair amount of rom-com stories in recent years, this stands out as my favorite by quite a margin. The anime is a bit awkward as an adaptation, but it still manages to convey the main elements of the story quite well. The romance is on a similar level to Love is War - though more rom than com - with the cute and serious relationship development that you might see in a show like Mysterious Girlfriend X - far surpassing other enjoyable well known romcoms of recent times, such as Uzaki, Nagatoro, and Komi.
It's definitely the best new show this season for me (with Oshi no Ko a close second, and many others not that far behind). The mystery is fantastic and the depths the mystery goes to is wonderful. And it's great at pacing. It presents a mystery, it gives you just enough clues so you might figure it out but still makes the revelation surprising even if you figured out the gist of it, and it might solve some of the mysteries just one or two episodes later, but through solving that mystery will just give you more mysteries. And it adds such a human element to everything and carefully doses the humour to make it feel incredibly real. So far it is probably one of the most engaging shows I've ever watched.
Animes i am watching is New ones first Oshi No Ko, Dangers in my heart, Iseleve, Yamada kun to lv999, Then there is all recurring ones Konosuba Explosion, Bofuri S2, Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear S2, Tonikaku Kawaii S2, MS Gundam Witch part 2, This is currently others will most likely be added to the list when they get released.
Having read the manga and being able to keep up with the latest episode, boku no kokoro is definitely worth a watch. It starts slow though but it snowballs into something very wholesome.
Man I really really love Heavenly Delusion and I hope it doesn't get slept on, its such a great mystery show but it also has fantastic art & animation, very charming characters, and really fluid action scenes. So much to love in this show, and I'm praying it doesn't get cancelled since most people don't even know it exists.
Can I recomend one? X&Y is a mystery anime with escape rooms. I will not say anything more about the story as for spoiler reasons. It is a chinese anime (forgot the name of those) and I have not met a single person who watched it. It is definetly worth checking out.
Oh yeah. Hell's Paradise is also by one of Fujimoto's Assistant. Another assistant wrote Spy x family and there is this 3rd assistant who wrote Dandadan... Which is a really fun Manga and I'm pretty sure the anime is gonna be announced pretty soon for Dandadan too.
Ngl... Rather surprised with you dropping Mashle. I mean its literally " Black Clover parody of Harry Potter but the MC is Saitama" & Honestly I'm sold. No shade on Black Clover but I appreciate that's not a " MC doesn't have any superpower/magic... oh wait he does". Sure the Saitama lvl of strength & speed is basically an OP superpower. But its not magic (or anti magic in world of magic). Plus idk man maybe my sense of humor is basic but Mash is damn funny to me 🤣
You missed "Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts" and "Summoned to Another World for a Second Time" if "EVERY SINGLE" new show was to not just be clickbait. Im assuming regional issues arent a filtering thing since you included Ao no Orchestra.
In the case of "Sacrificial Princess," it didn't get started until 4/20, and he probably didn't have time to add it to this vid to get it out in time. I'd like to hear his feelings as well. As for the other one... WELP.
If there are any shows you initially "Tossed"/put on hold but later picked up midway thru the season and finished, that would be nice to know about in the end-of-season video.
My Wife had never shown any interest in Anime, but cats, on the other hand..... I showed her the segment about "Too Cute Crisis" and now might need to renew my subscription at HIDIVE for her.
Just some shows I noticed he missed somehow: - Stella of the Theater - Summoned to Another World for a Second Time - Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts - X&Y
I really appreciate you doing this considering the amount of time it means to actually sit through all those first episodes. Also, I think classification is clear enough, much better than last season for sure.
I hope you keep watching insomniacs after school. The vibes this show gives are just absolutely eye pleasing. I hope you like it enough to make a separate video on it
Definitely let a few episodes build up and then go back and watch them. I almost dropped the manga at first but it has become one of my favorites. So far the anime is looking great but it's a slow start for sure
after episode 3 of magical destroyers I can confidently say there is significantly more going on under the hood of its narrative than it first implies. Seriously I absolutely understand why episode 1 wouldn't build much confidence in the series but without exaggeration I would be more surprised if it didn't end up with the easy to miss narrative depth that shows like kill la kill offer. Seriously give it the 3 episode rule rather than 1 as it leaves a hugely different impression than just the 1 does if your paying attention.
can say that I've watched all the new anime of this season now. There were so many new anime in this season, but for me only 4 of them are really worth watching and they are: 1- Oshi No Ko 2- Heavenly Delusion 3- Hell's Paradise 4- Mashle
@@yuuichi4356 oh so weird, weren't you the one that labeled everything else no worthy? yes it's my opinion, but maybe if you give your opinion expect other people to give theirs too instead of trying to cancel mine just for being an opinion, I didn't even say it was bad like you said all the other shows were.
I generally can't do more than 3 anime a season. So far for me this season i've chosen; Oshi No Ko, Skip and Loafers and The Dangers in my Heart. Very much enjoying them, with Skip and Loafers being my fav!
You're an anime consuming machine mate. Good work. Always good to hear your thoughts on each season, just seems like there is so many more shows to get through each time!
I hope you'll stick with My Clueless First Friend and that it doesn't get lost in the shuffle, because it's ridiculously wholesome and, in spite of the first two episodes or so, quickly expands past the simple gag of "Takada can't read the room". Most of my other favorites from this season (Oshi No Ko, Skip + Loafer, Dangers in My Heart) so far are getting plenty of good press on their own, but MCFF seems to be getting consistently looked past or dropped by reviewers after a single episode so I'm trying to lobby for it to get more of people's attention.
I know you gave Rakudo's Bad Girls a "Pass" rating but I find it hilarious. The MC is so grounded while everyone around him is crazy. Once you get past the art style being so 90s there is a really fun show under there.
Same here. Completely felt like this is one you can’t make a real call off of one episode. I found the first couple of episodes so far to be very entertaining
@@justinb998 From what I find, the art style really turns people off. Several people that I've recommended it to took a look at the key art and told me "no thank you". 😢
If I had to cut what I'm watching to the bone, leaving aside the sequels I MUST watch (Tonikawa, Magus Bride, G-Witch), I'd say: Oshi no Ko Heavenly Delusion Skip and Loafer Otaku Elf Hell's Paradise Insomniacs After School Dead Mount Death Play - it's actually really funny, the final scene of the first episode is more accurate to the tone than the rest of the first episode, lmaoooo, and very fortunately Misaki does in fact stick around as the MC's psycho sidekick, lol. Yuri is My Job - do not take this as an endorsement, I'm half convinced I hate this show, I might be hatewatching Loving Yamada at Lv.999 - yo I'm just happy to have a shoujo romcom out here, especially one about an absolute disaster of a womanchild making a fool of herself, it rocks, in my house we stan girls who are just complete disasters it really feels like Heaven and Hell, with Oshi no Ko bouncing between the two. Yuri is My Job is firmly on the Hell side because all of the characters Will Not See Heaven, God Willing.
@@sparklesparklesparkle6318 I'm watching it. this was a hypothetical if I tried to be sane and watch a reasonable number instead of 18 like I'm currently doing.
this season is a banger i adore oshi no ko and loving yamada(it hit me super close to home at episode 4 i feel like yamada is a lot like me in a scary way
All you need to know about KamiKatsu is that in the fourth episode they take real footage of a real person, slap an anime filter on it, then draw one of the character's heads on the body. They deepfaked an anime.
Uh Arkada. Hate to break it to you but anything called shonen doesn’t mean it’s an action series. Shonen has a bunch of sub genres that the various series it gets are categorize into. The biggest of this which is the bread and butter of the magazine Mashle comes from aka Shonen Jump is comedy. THAT is why Mashle is so popular and is why most shonen shows are too including the many action ones (Demon Slayer, JJK, Naruto, MHA) because they incorporate comedy into them or they’re a comedy that incorporates action ala DB, One Piece, SpyxFamily. Mashle is part of that latter half too btw. Oh and I’m going to leave this tidbit for you to think on. Death Note and Promised Neverland were serialized in Shonen Jump and both are categorized as shonen as a result even though both series aren’t like all the others I have mentioned here.
TBF to the guy in A Galaxy Next Door, Japanese housing is not near as bonkers and overpriced as Canadian housing is. I doubt he's making more thank $2k a month renting out those rooms. You can actually still find studio apartments around Tokyo for $500 a month so long as you're not picky about the neighborhood.
Honestly, I didn't find it difficult to believe that he would still be poor after renting. I mean, you still have to pay property taxes and on the income from tenants, not to mention landlords may get a bad tenant who completely trash the place or don't play their rent on time among many other issues.
Reaching the end and realizing you missed Sacrificial Princess was... odd. I think it's got a "Keep?" from me for now. Magical Destroyers is something I *want* to give a chance. I saw a joke that made me start thinking it's a metaphor for how sites like Niconico, and conventions like Comiket have resulted in harsher pressures from society to keep your involvement in otaku culture to your private life. My Home Hero reaches a point with a satisfying enough conclusion that I'm not worried about the show's ending. Of course, it keeps going, and does so naturally, but it wouldn't feel out of place to stop there. I also feel like calling Insomniacs "Call of the Night - vampires" isn't really fair. I think it's closer to "March Comes in Like a Lion - Shogi" or "Your Lie in April, but with insomnia and astrophotography instead of trauma and music" Which still sets a pretty high bar for comparison.
Personal top picks for this season are 1. Heavenly Delusion - haven't seen a post-apocalyptic mystery, or mystery in general, this good in a long time. Made me binge the manga, and seeing all the hints is both incredibly satisfying but also hurts way too much. Definitely secured itself a spot in my favorites for both anime and manga, the anime even more because of how well it's being adapted. 2. Skip and Loafer - It is just genuinely such a fun watch, and Tomoyo Kurosawa as the voice of the main character makes everything 100 times better than it already is. 3. Oshi no Ko - if you had told me episode 1 (minus the set-up for the revenge at the end) was all we were getting and it was a tragic 90 minute story of a familial bond, I would've been perfectly satisfied and willing to almost give a perfect score for it. With this, I still have to worry about if the show manages to follow up on the insane premiere, which fortunately so far it has. 4. Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts (you, uhm, kinda did not mention this AT ALL xD) - both figuratively and literally just wholesome fluff, and the adaptation is also quite nice so far. Given that the manga has 90-ish chapters and the anime is set for 24 episodes, we could theoretically have a chance to see the full story adapted, who knows. It's not anythign special, but I quite like it, and Kana Hanazawa as Sariphi - who is already cute af in the first place - is just an unfair casting choice for my heart. Before the season started my most anticipated anime, not only for this season but actually for 2023 as a whole, was "Insomniacs After School" because the manga is one of my absolute favorites. It lives entirely off of 2 things: The back and forth banter between the characters, and the atmosphere the night scenes - or even some of the normal scenes - give out, and so far the anime sadly hasn't managed to properly convey ANY of it in a way that'd do the presentation of said scenes in the manga justice. Right now, the only thing I can rave about for it is the OST which is genuinely quite amazing and probably my personal favorite of the season, yet it means almost nothing if all the other aspects of the show that I am so fond of in the source are just not present. Give it 4-5 episodes and if you don't get pulled in by the anime, PLEASE do yourself a favor and read the manga for it. It sits at 108 chapters right now and it is a fascinatingly phenomenal read. Seeing it being described as "romcom" or hearing the characters are "not as engaging as the ones in Call of the Night" actually f'ing hurts.
Let me disagree on insomniac, I think it improves the manga in various scenes. Yeah the pacing is not the best but the extra scenes added to episode 1 were really good, especially the finale. Also it looks gorgeous and the art is practically 1:1 but that's just my opinion.
Insomniacs were real letdown after ep1. Like whole premise of wandering at night is gone and it becomes almost generic club show. Plus day become longer and sun is rising when I'm down to watch it. :P
@Antoni Sauren What said the premise was wondering at night? It doesn't have that in the show synopsis as it literally mentions astronomy club observatory in the show synopsis itself... Sounds you were like making comparison too much to Call of the Night to have an expectation that wasn't even promised as the premise to begin with. lol
I genuinely don't think we had a season this stacked by good new shows at any time recently. Skip and Loafers, Oshi no Ko , Hell's Paradise, Death mount death play and my favourite of the season... Heavenly Delusion. And there are way more than these shows that people are talking... Like Mashle, Insomniacs after school, Magical girl magic destroyer.... Too good of a season
You should also watch Hirogaru sky precure! Especially the recent episodes have been FANTASTIC. Sincerely, A non precure fan who gave Hirogaru sky precure a chance this season
I am obsessed with the OP for Oshi no ko. It's just so good. The show itself is so well directed. I can't believe I would ever watch an "idol" show but here we are. The closest I got to watch an idol show was Vivy flourite eye's song. I think this would have been my favourite of the year had it not been for Vinland Saga S2 still going strong. Also Magical destroyers gave me vibes of Rumble Garandoll so I will definitely watch it. The 1st episode was amazing.
So when i watch anime thats always about someone who drops something because of someone else i always think of that scene in My Hero Academia where Deku yells at Todoroki. So hearing Blue Orchestra and how its about a guy that stops playing violin cause his dad sucks the first thing i thought of was Deku yelling: "IT'S YOURS! YOUR VIOLIN NOT HIS!'
I really like how you keep this way more interesting than others who try to give a virtual book report on anime. So far i actually agree with your verdicts on the new anime. My Home Hero is pretty good considering and it still builds every episode. I actually like one of the Yakuza guys cause they have a complicated backstory and emotion. I also wasn't sure about the Cheat Skill anime but i actually got nauseous after a few episodes. I got tired of rolling my eyes 😂. Dead Mount Death Play is actually not too bad but it's walking a tightrope right now for me. I'm not sure how much more i can take of another show about someone reincarnated with an exorbitant amount of power... Anyway keep up the cool discussions!!
Run for the Money is essentially a toy commercial anime lmao. The band the characters wear on their wrists is the Vital Bracelet. Why running? Because the VB is baby's first fitness tracker band.
@@vanilla_milkshake Sure but the show is all style and no substance. It's all frosting and no cake. If it came out that the whole show was written by an AI bot fed a bunch of mid-2000's anime scripts I wouldn't be shocked at all.
@@vanilla_milkshake It has style but it doesn't really compare to the OP at all. It still looks like an average glossy modern digital anime most of the time. I know it's not fair to expect the whole series to be on the same level as an OP but I wish they would lean into the cel animation style a bit more.
I feel like there needed to be another option of like "TEEP?" combo of toss/keep as in "toss for now but if I hear more about it later I might come back"
I'm not surprised you gave a toss to Boukenroku, but I am somehow still a little saddened. It has this peaceful soul soothing attribute to it, a lot like By the Grace of the Gods. It's nothing unique or ground breaking, but it is still the show I look forward to the most every week. (Second place being Oshi no Ko, the plot really draws me in, but the darkness has me less excited. There's a little counterplay between excitement and dread)
The My home hero manga is actually split into 3 parts so this first season is likely to adapt all of part one, but while watching it I noticed that some scenes have had parts taken out.
I know donghua is generally hated by the community however this season there is a standout I'd recommended: X & Y / Aiyou's Secret Room. Outside of Kind's Reign 1st season I've like like any Chinese animation so take some time to watch if you like horror mystery which is a little lacking this season on the Japanese side.
Dead mount death play has been one of my favorite shows this season. Never even heard of it but I have been looking forward to it and hells paradise the most weekly of the new stuff
magical girl destroyers has the term "magical girls" so like maybe I'll give it a few episodes just to see if it does anything actually interesting with the titular magical girls.
Tengoku Daimakyo really swept me off my feet. I haven't been so taken by an anime in a while. I hope it becomes an instant classic, passed on over the years.
8:04 Funny, 'cause I found "episode 0" from the new Gundam series the only REALLY GOOD episode from the first season. I was enjoying "My Home Hero" a lot, but the fact it is still unfinished kind of worries me mow.
The amount of disrespect towards Magical Girl Destroyers just because it's flashy and explosions instead of deep subtexts about facism bad is insane, but i believe it really depends on the person, for me i think it's quite a fun show that anyone really fond of Kill La Kill or such will watch, it's not trying to replace it but it will give you similar vibes in how it's animations and over the top logic are done. And also for me, it's the anime in this season that mostly differs from the rest with it's wacky plotlines and lsd visuals, it's a completely different experience from all other animes mentioned in this list and that makes it worth a watch for a lot of people, it's at least trying.
Yeah I was about to say the same. Kind of a shame how hard Niehime has been struggling. Coming up so late in the season and barely anyone talking about it. Most might call the series mid or samey but it's my favorite Shoujo of all. I hope it gains some recognition soon.
Mashle is a parody of Harry Potter. I’m pretty sure the generic isekai city and “this is a world of magic” was intentional. I mean, c’mon, you can’t really take it seriously when the MC dribbles with the opponent’s spell like he was in Blue Lock
ALL OF THEM!?! You DID say ALL correct? Yet no mention of "Stella of the Theatre: World Dai Star". Yes it's a 'game' anime. Yes it LOOKS like an idol anime...BUT IT AIN"T. Yes there ARE other anime that use theatre as a setting, BUT...and I again emphasize BUT... I don't recall ANY going into a reasonably realisic view of behind the scenes theater AND actually performing sections of plays. Your penance is to watch the ENTIRE series AND review it online. You should feel sufficiently rewarded after watching the last episode.
There are so many great new shows and sequels this season it's hard to keep up. My personal favorites so far are The Dangers in my Heart, Oshi no Ko, Hell's Paradise, Insomniacs After School, and Working for God in a Godless World
@@sparklesparklesparkle6318 hmm interesting. Ive been finding dubs to be better over time. Now theres a variety of voice actors, some who are actually passionate about the material or category. Where as before the same 5 voices did everything. Maybe im havent delved into the subjects nuances , but my overall opinion is ive enjoyed dubs more frequently. There are many times though where i find the sub is superior and that i think is due to translation/writing and voice acting as a mix (i don't see it as one component).

Fascinating that you tossed Mashle considering how dense those muscles of his has got to be.
I would love to hear a more in depth discussion of Skip and Loafer!
yeah! do far it's been so sweet!

That's what we're saying! Even with the horny scenes too. There's the mystery, creepy vibes, not knowing what will happen next, monsters, and kids.
@@gomigakure horny scenes?? I'm planning to watch that show so can you elaborate about that
More people should check out Ancient Magus Bride, especially with season 2 being pretty damn good right now. Fantastic animation as well.
One of the most overrated manga and anime. I don't get why anyone likes it, but to each to its own.
The Ancient Potter Bride!
That shit about a minor being set married off to some ancient monster? Ahahahaha yeah no thank you.
I watched most of the first season and the 3-episode prequel/background and it was not bad, but it felt kind of pointless after a while.
The ending song was great, though.
@@manamaster6 I really liked it, but it's not something that's really going somewhere it's just showing Chise's life.
Dead Mount Death Play is by the author of Baccano and Durarara btw
I was surprised how negative he was about the anime considering who the writer is.
So far with Oshi No Ko one of my top favourites this season.
@@fraktaalimuoto I think he simply just didn't know he's the creator of this series.
@@-datrandomdude-6979 I think that would be for the best since there wouldn't be any biased
@Robyn Gatomon As someone who's been following the manga for years, it takes a little bit to start introducing the different parties, but it gets wild and I love it. Whether it makes it better for other people depends on them though, but I think it's excellent once it starts going.
@@masonguzman9917 I love how they ways they develop to get around a world without magic and characters who stand out from the regular mortals.
Love the work ethic, take care though, don't burn out
I honestly feel like Mashle is kinda being misunderstood.
Magic One Punch Man
No interest.
I was laughing throughout the first 3 episodes. It's like a combo of Sakamoto and OPM that shamelessly parodies Harry Potter.
I ❤ Mashle too
Insomniacs and Otaku Elf are my two main shows this season, I've read a lot of the manga for both and the quirky humor of Elf gets me, as well as the ongoing bits of Edo history that get brought in.
Insomniacs After School has some powerful iyashikei vibes, and I love basking in them.
Gag manga with reverse Harry Potter. I do like it. And it's Mashle.
"You're not a wizard Harry."
Surprised that Arkada prefers to watch Otaku elf rather than Mashle since they both have the slice and life vibes
Insomniacs after school is 100% a must watch for me this season as well as an underrated show. - It's very wholesome
Heavenly Delusion (Tengoku Daimayo) with the mystery and post-apocalypse setting has been great so far. I hope you cover it.
Honestly it gave me a bit of Made in Abyss vibes?? I hope GR does a review on it cuz the plot really escalated after ep3
It's the best new anime of the year for me so far which is saying something since we have shows like Oshi no Ko and Hell's Paradise premiering.
Magical Destroyers is my absolute favorite this season. Its like a combination of FLCL and Powerpuff Girls and I LOVE IT

Having read the manga and being able to keep up with the latest episode, boku no kokoro is definitely worth a watch. It starts slow though but it snowballs into something very wholesome.
Mashle is definitely a keep or at least 3 eps trial it's very funny
WELP.
maybe he thought the isekai was a sequel due to its title?
If there are any shows you initially "Tossed"/put on hold but later picked up midway thru the season and finished, that would be nice to know about in the end-of-season video.
My Wife had never shown any interest in Anime, but cats, on the other hand..... I showed her the segment about "Too Cute Crisis" and now might need to renew my subscription at HIDIVE for her.
Just some shows I noticed he missed somehow:
- Stella of the Theater
- Summoned to Another World for a Second Time
- Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts
- X&Y
Big agree

There were so many new anime in this season, but for me only 4 of them are really worth watching and they are:

Do I watch Isekai? No
Do I listen to Glass Reflection talk about all Isekai? Yes
I know you gave Rakudo's Bad Girls a "Pass" rating but I find it hilarious. The MC is so grounded while everyone around him is crazy. Once you get past the art style being so 90s there is a really fun show under there.
Exactly! I disagree with the pass on kamikatsu too, they all have there charms that need more than one ep to show.
Same here. Completely felt like this is one you can’t make a real call off of one episode. I found the first couple of episodes so far to be very entertaining
@@justinb998 From what I find, the art style really turns people off. Several people that I've recommended it to took a look at the key art and told me "no thank you". 😢
If I had to cut what I'm watching to the bone, leaving aside the sequels I MUST watch (Tonikawa, Magus Bride, G-Witch), I'd say:
Oshi no Ko
Heavenly Delusion
Skip and Loafer
Otaku Elf
Hell's Paradise
Insomniacs After School
Dead Mount Death Play - it's actually really funny, the final scene of the first episode is more accurate to the tone than the rest of the first episode, lmaoooo, and very fortunately Misaki does in fact stick around as the MC's psycho sidekick, lol.
Yuri is My Job - do not take this as an endorsement, I'm half convinced I hate this show, I might be hatewatching
Loving Yamada at Lv.999 - yo I'm just happy to have a shoujo romcom out here, especially one about an absolute disaster of a womanchild making a fool of herself, it rocks, in my house we stan girls who are just complete disasters
it really feels like Heaven and Hell, with Oshi no Ko bouncing between the two. Yuri is My Job is firmly on the Hell side because all of the characters Will Not See Heaven, God Willing.

Could you make a list at the end of the video that puts every anime in its “watch category “? It would be useful after a 50+ minutes video.
All you need to know about KamiKatsu is that in the fourth episode they take real footage of a real person, slap an anime filter on it, then draw one of the character's heads on the body. They deepfaked an anime.
that was hilarious xD
It's actually better than described: the spoken line over that scene is something like 'this is so much easier than doing it by hand'.
God bless your soul. Don't force yourself to watch all of them. People still have housechores, family, friends and work as well.
Here’s an idea for new tags “Yes!” “We’ll see/give it some time.” And “Not for me.”
The Animation not Hitting
Honestly, I didn't find it difficult to believe that he would still be poor after renting. I mean, you still have to pay property taxes and on the income from tenants, not to mention landlords may get a bad tenant who completely trash the place or don't play their rent on time among many other issues.
Would Maybe? or Try be better then Keep? The color helps but first listening keep? and keep was a little confusing
Slight correction, The Dangers in my Heart is not a Highschool series, its a Middleschool series, main character is 13.
Is Sacrificial Princess even on Livechart?
I don't recall seeing a show by that name there...
*EDIT:* wait, is it the furry one?
Insomniacs is begging to be a shaft anime.
Sacrifical Princess started way later than all the others, so maybe that's why he missed it?
by the way I love these videos and if you kept making them (which ik is hard and alot) I would definitely keep watching them, good job!
Personal top picks for this season are
Stop spoiling.
@Antoni Sauren What said the premise was wondering at night? It doesn't have that in the show synopsis as it literally mentions astronomy club observatory in the show synopsis itself... Sounds you were like making comparison too much to Call of the Night to have an expectation that wasn't even promised as the premise to begin with. lol
@@raec5426 TBH, the first episode kind of implies it is going to be that way. In the second episode you can already see it will not.

I love how Oshi no Ko doesn’t skirt around the dirty side of the entertainment industry. Many idol show only glamorizes the fame.
Isn't that harem show (Café Terrace) basically 'Love Hina' in reverse?
More people need to talk about how good witch from mercury is

The OP for magical destroyers was so stylish I wish the actual show was more like that.
It only has 3 episodes out so far, who knows what will happen
the actual show is like that lol, have you watched past ep 1? It has more style than most of the rest of the shows combined.
@@vanilla_milkshake Sure but the show is all style and no substance. It's all frosting and no cake. If it came out that the whole show was written by an AI bot fed a bunch of mid-2000's anime scripts I wouldn't be shocked at all.

Toss, Keep? And CONSUME!
Too me the thing with aqua not wanting to breast feed from his teen mom is refreshing compared to the perverted baby that was Rudy in mushoku tensei
Tengoku Daimakyo really swept me off my feet. I haven't been so taken by an anime in a while. I hope it becomes an instant classic, passed on over the years.
I appreciate your thought's on "The legendary hero is dead!"😊! It's probably one of my favourite animes after I watched it😂

I was enjoying "My Home Hero" a lot, but the fact it is still unfinished kind of worries me mow.
I forgot about your channel and am so dang happy this video popped up, gotta catch up on ur vids now haha
The mad man did it he actually did it
You forgot one. Niehime. I know it starts later but I enjoyed the fantasy romance premise and how dark it is
Yeah I was about to say the same.
Kind of a shame how hard Niehime has been struggling.
Coming up so late in the season and barely anyone talking about it. Most might call the series mid or samey but it's my favorite Shoujo of all. I hope it gains some recognition soon.
Hopefully you'll continue with the weekly ranking on the new season too!
Mashle is a parody of Harry Potter. I’m pretty sure the generic isekai city and “this is a world of magic” was intentional. I mean, c’mon, you can’t really take it seriously when the MC dribbles with the opponent’s spell like he was in Blue Lock
Not a fan of keep? And keep.
What about...
_Mold_ (bad)
_Hold_ (worth observing)
_Gold_ (a winner)
“Legal streaming”😂 you always make the funniest jokes🤣
41:20 FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT, that harem is no needed in both of the categories
But, but... The squirrel!
You missed the anime "Summoned to Another World for a Second Time" (Isekai Shoukan wa Nidome desu)
Can you show the anime name when you give the verdict? I kept forgetting the name by the end and had to rewind.
Love the channel!
My personal favorites so far are The Dangers in my Heart, Oshi no Ko, Hell's Paradise, Insomniacs After School, and Working for God in a Godless World
Why Raeliana ended up at the Duke's Mansion has actually been really good. I know it is not a new series but Tonikawa season 2 has been good as well.
@@sparklesparklesparkle6318 it also has a simulcast dub which has made it easy to watch. Although I liked the sub.
There are many times though where i find the sub is superior and that i think is due to translation/writing and voice acting as a mix (i don't see it as one component).
yeah.. havent watched tonikawa s2 yet behind on a few shows, hell trying to catch up on bungo stray dogs since s4 took awhile to come out so was rewatching that for awhile, few eps a night
Raeliana may have ended up being my favorite show so far. A lot of fun. It has been a good twist on the "villainess" Isekai. I was expecting to dump it after the first episode.
U forgot about sacrificial Princess and the king of beasts
It had a late start and he didn't get a chance too add it before he had to get this out. I'm liking it.
You missed Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts.
Started too late in the season to make the video (he shoots this stuff WAY in advance), but I'd like to get his thoughts as well.
@@Doodlesthegreat I figured that was the case. Video like this probably takes a while to edit and such. Too bad but maybe he'll talk about it at a later date.
