If there is an upside to all this isolation, it’s that I’m going to have prints or a Zine from every one of Willem’s You Tube friends by the time this is over.
i know Im asking randomly but does anyone know a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost the login password. I love any tricks you can offer me!
@Wallace Randall thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
this is such a comforting project in these times, and the fact that you're giving the profits to local food banks makes it that much more meaningful. excited to receive mine!
What a great idea. I just moved back to my home town after being gone for 30 years. This has inspired me to do a similar project once things return back to normal. Will shoot all on 4x5 B&W. Been wanting to do a zine for a while but just could not nail down a central theme. Thank you so much for the inspiration and the continued excellent content you provide. Cheers
1. It's so cool you're doing a zine 2. Awesome photos 3. I love the tie-in with Willem Verbeeck 4. HOLY SHIT IT'S YOUR HANDWRITING?!? WHAT?! 5. When the quarantine ends, a lot of people will go to Chillicothe, Ohio because of you (and who has otherwise heard of that city?) Matt, you're awesome! I wonder what Chillicothe will look like when the quarantine ends. ;)
Awesome! One copy is coming my way to The Netherlands! As a police officer in Rotterdam I see the struggle some people find themselves in as a result of this crisis.. Hope you are all safe and well! 🤙🏻
Awesome project Matt, and I really appreciate the local cause you are donating too. Great way to use art in a very direct and positive way! I picked up a copy and I’m looking forward to thumbing through it all. Great channel man. I have been following a while, keep up the great work. Hope you and yours are healthy and safe.
Great idea doing a zine and giving the profits to local charity is a very nice gesture given the circumstances. I will be buying a copy if I can, not sure yet of postage to the uk.
The idea is pretty awesome. We're living in history and I think as long as we photograph anything (indoor or outdoor) it will benefit us. We just need to do it safely. Ordered my copy btw.
So many layers of awesome. Bringing us behind the scenes with this video, book is open edition so I can still get a copy, and the money is going to good causes in a town I would have never known about -- or cared about -- if it weren't for you. Someday I'm going to visit Chillicothe. You're the man and the thought you put behind whatever it is you do is as inspiring as what you create.
This is beautiful man. Already ordered a copy and I can’t wait for it to arrive here in Vienna, Austria. All the best and keep up the great work! Big fan
Ordered! This is a great and inspiring idea, Matt! Thanks for the great content as always and thanks for keeping on going in these tough times. It's bringing a small sense of normality to these weird days. I bought an M6 just before lockdown here in the UK and haven't been able to get out and shoot due to my work being classed as key work and my working days being very long at the moment. Hopefully I'll be able to carve out a couple of hours some time soon though. Keep on going, Matt and stay safe.
Ordered! Thank you for the inspiration! I have been shooting a lot since lockdown, just I felt I needed to document this phase of our lives. I had no ideas what to do with the pictures, a standard photo book seemed to normal. Can't wait to check out your zine!
Great run through of your approach from starting the project to actually figuring it out, hope you are able to donate as much as you can for a good cause
Nice work! I would love a video on how you pair images for zines and books with examples from the zines you’ve created. You mentioned your pairings were obvious but I sure would love to get into your head a bit on why you pair the images that you placed together. Or singly.
Love it! I started exactly the same challenge myself, around 2 weeks ago. Not so much with the intention on selling though, as I don't really have much of a following whom would buy it, so more for myself and my family to look back on in years to come. Placed my order and can't wait to see it!
Pretty cool Matt! I like to use the book module in Lightroom and then have them printed through Blurb. Have made a few books for local fire departments and started working on one for our local Chamber of Commerce.(That has been put on hold til this Corona situation is over). I also made one a few years ago when lightning caused a wildfire that took a few days for fire crews to put out. (Love making books(photo). Hope you and your family continue to stay safe and healthy. Lee Peterson, St. David, AZ.
Whoooa!! So cool when you see awesome photographer, what show same workflow as i use. I mean “ ipad pro-lightroom-procreate” As well a nice video and zine!
Hello matt.... Its the same here in the UK... From Tyne and Wear... Anyway I've just watch ur video.... And this is all Ive been doing shooting black and white film and developing using Cinistill Df96... I've scanned my negs place them on my pc and up on fb but I feel inspired to make a photo zine from these negatives.... Do you think ii should do this....
My photos are mostly like trees, walk ways... Streams..... Just photos of things when I go on my walk during this lock down...and social distancing.....
Hi Matt! I just received a copy of your zine here in Belgium ! I love it, a good add to my book collection. I love the quality of Magcloud, its pretty decent. Btw, could you make a short video tutorial on how you proceeded to make the pdf file with InDesign to upload to magcloud? Are there any special tips to know to make the pdf?
Bought. Now I'll watch the video. Now I'll own 3 Zine from my favorite people. Received Ted Veira a few days ago and Paul C Smith last year. Can't wait to see it
I'm in Canada and I'd love to buy your new Zine but with the Canadian dollar being so low right now plus shipping to Canada, I need to pass. However i will make a $20 donation to my local food bank. Love your videos!
Hey Matt, good work and giving the profits to your local food banks is top. What's the deal for non-US purchase, can I purchase from UK? What would be the shipping costs?

Looove the challenge of doing this in 30 days. Congrats on releasing the zine man. So stoked for you ✨

Seeing you not only challenge yourself to make a zine in 30 days but use the proceeds to help your city is super inspiring!

Hello Matt, I’ve just ordered a copy of Social Distancing! I live in the UK so your efforts are appreciated on this side of ‘The Pond’ ❤️📷
Great idea doing a zine and giving the profits to local charity is a very nice gesture given the circumstances. I will be buying a copy if I can, not sure yet of postage to the uk.
Just bought one posting to Scotland, cost me £16 for everything (zine + postage)
Just did the purchase for your zine, my first photobook. Love your work!

Hey Matt, good work and giving the profits to your local food banks is top. What's the deal for non-US purchase, can I purchase from UK? What would be the shipping costs?
u just inspired me so thank you
Ordered just now :)
Are you going to do the Canon New F-1 review soon? There's so little about this camera compared to the Nikon F3.
Caldera, I have this camera and love it! Might do a review soon.
Back in the early eighties I had one friend with the New F-1 and one with the F3. I own Canon gear (an A-1, an FTb and an F-1n) but thought the ergonomics of the F3 was actually the better of the two. However you can't go wrong with either one.
Just ordered my Copy!.
Make Fonts out of your Handwriting, I'm gonna buy it! :o
Cool Man. Very positive Karma on you. Order placed.
you have awesome handwriting
cant wait for the ipad video!
