Karamea - Erable Ré/Maple D - By Ujazi Didgeridoo

Karamea is from a maple tree trunk, full of branches (thus full of nodes), with a great density. The diameter of the bell is exactly the trunk’s one, which was the same on the entire length of the didg, so I’m the one who has sculpted the rest of the shape as I wanted the sound and the design to be.
I worked on finding a balance between “rough and raw” and “precisely crafted”, everything is going in this direction : the trunk is perfectly sanded and flattened but many nodes and a wood grain very pronounced keep the whole instrument natural ; the sound is open, bright and precise, without forgetting to be slightly compressed so as to offer a fast, powerful and nervous game. It’s an easy D to approach, without any pretension but to be an excellent quality polyvalent D.
