Loved seeing how much the Schillinger intersection has built up. When I lived there, there was pretty much only a Union 76 gas station and State Farm insurance office on the NW corner and the Delchamps grocery store and a drug store on the NE corner.
Asian Garden! Well, it faces Hillcrest but it's on the corner of Cottage Hill. And I loved The Hungry Owl when it was in business. Now it's LoDa Bier Garten.
You went past the first subdivision I live at in Mobile… Twin Lakes. And then right past my last home (which you recently sold). Right after you passed McFarland on the left side of Cottage Hill, there was a large home with a gambrel roof on a HUGE piece of property where one of my childhood friends lived. Thanks for the video. Brings back a lot of childhood memories!
Hi Jeff, received your commet reply from my question. I asked whether you really had lived in Mobile, AL all your life. Your response was only the 9 months at the University of Mississippi. Well I'm curious in knowing, what made you decide to live their. And your video's are great. Giving such positivity to the area. I do however think that there are other smaller area's with older homes and communties not in the Cottage Hill area that are good, just my personal thought. Great to see a Publix coming your way. Thank You. 😊
Sorry for any confusion, no, I’ve lived in Mobile my entire life except for nine months where I lived in Hattiesburg. I went there for college. Yes, there are lots of other communities with smaller homes I need to feature. That’s on the list!
Really happy to hear about the new Publix being built. Now I can take Snow Road to this one and avoid the traffic on Schillinger & Airport to get to the other ones. I love it when new things are being built constantly, it shows that the area is growing.
Honestly, I just don’t think the amount of traffic would be there to justify the expense. Also, it would instantly transform Dauphin Island into something that I don’t think the residents would like. It would be bombarded with traffic overnight, forcing the entire island to change to a thru street.
@@livinginmobile I visit the gulf shores area a lot and then go from there to Biloxi and it's just pains to go all the way back to Mobile to get on I-10. When it would be much quicker to go on 180 to 193 to 188 to I-10
@@livinginmobile LOL I just looked it up on Google Map. If i wanted to go from Dauphin Island to Fort Morgan without the ferry it would take 2 hrs and 15 mins by car when both places are only 7 miles apart. Because I would have to drive back to mobile and then south from there LOL
Great information, keep these videos coming. Have to watch this one several times to soak up all that information. Favorite place is definitely Walmart. Can I tell the staff at Genesis you sent me???
What was your favorite place along Cottage Hill Road?

@@WanderingAroundAZ I remember that Delchamps. Yes, now there is a Mexican place, McDonalds, Goodwill, and I think a dentist. So many changes!
Where my dad lives is my favorite place on College Hill Road

@@Chillaxing113 I've heard there are some changes coming soon. Stay tuned!

My family lives on Cottagehill Road
Hi no problem. I think its pretty cool you've stayed there, so often people leave and do not return. Thanks for the reply.

Hi, Jeff! I can imagine how long it took you to make this video!
Actually, because of having a videographer with me, he makes it so much easier.
I know a guy who lived n Mobile. Down the Bay was where he was raised. Is that a dangerous place?
👍👍👍
Why won't they build a bridge that takes you from Hwy 180 to Hwy 193?
