What a beautiful song, really showcases Paul's voice. I think his vocals have diminished somewhat due to the ciggies over the years but this really is a return to form. Hats off to him and the band.
The real Mr Weller is a lot of different people. The one thing you can say about him is he is always the real Paul Weller... just wearing one of his different hats. As to self indulgence, have you heard Shopping by the Jam or Confessions of a Pop Group by TSC? Just other hats... Peace
