  • Mr. Muhammad Ishaq Teyhan was born in 1965 in his native village of Dorkhan in Central Hunza, Northern Pakistan. He is a retired military officer who served as Comodore to Pakistan Navy. He got his early and secondary education from his region and joined Pakistan Navy. It is highly impressive to note that a person born in an nurtured in the highest mountains of the world moves down to the plains of Pakistan and devotes his professional life in the dangerous seas and deep ocean .
Tides of challenges in different forms came across him during his employment but with a great zeal , dedication and loyalty, he came over them. An outstanding performance he made when an Iranian ship had sunk in the sea and Ishaq Teyhan, being a courageous captain with strong determaination, moved on the mission to rescue it. Desptei the fact his own and colleagues lives were at high risk, he persuaded the mssion. In the middle, there comes up sereious issue with the steering, nonetheless he didn’t return and moved ahead. Finally, reached at the target and rescued and/or brought the sunken boat/ship.
It was a great opportunity to get an orientation on social media and meet in person with Mr. Muhammad Ishaq Teyhan on Febuary 13, 2024. Interestingly, Ishaq Teyhan and I (Fazal Amin Beg) found foster relationship through our families (termed as Usham in Burushaski and Zharzh in Wakhi) at our great grandfather’s generation named Arbob Khairullah Beg of Gulmit and Trangpa Zawara of Ganish. Interesting an true story prevails even today among the elderly key informants about both of them when there was polo match and tent-pegging competition. During Tent pegging, Tranpa Zawara unfortunately seriously wounded after falling from his running horse and his lance crossed his belly. Besides his political position as an administrator, Arbob Khairullah Beg was also a renowned indigenous physician (hakeem or tabeeb) of his time in the first quarter of 20th century. He thus had surgery of Trangpa Zawar on the spot , so smartly and professionally got out the lance from his belly. He thus remained under his treamtn and his life was saved. The story doesn’t sustain only within our family as descendants but rather also continues in the family of Ishaq Teyhan, which he mentions at the outset of his friendly discussion in the video.
Like his family and ancestors, Muhammad Ishaq could be found proving himself in bravery, dedication to his profession and humane in human relationship. A friendly conversation in Urdu with him like a podcast pertaining to his life accounts thus is shared with you in video. I hope the viwers would appreciate his genuine struggles in different realms and give a like to him in addition to sharing the video at your end.
