Monika added more of etno part (chorus), so that’s why many Lithuanians voted and jury gave her the highest score! Me being Lithuanian, LOVE the chorus part ČIŪTO TŪTO. That was the initial idea of Monika to add something Lithuanian to the song. What Monika added is taken from Lithuanian SUTARTINĖS (a multipart singing; you can google what it is). By the way, Lithuanian Sutartinės is Unesco Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity 😉 The very first version of this song is a bit different and ČIŪTO TŪTO was just a very small part at the very end. But as I said, only latest update to this song gave Monika a ticket to Liverpool. Many people from my surrounding said they changed their mind the last minute to vote for Monika’s song only after hearing the chorus. It was the same with me. I did not have her in mind as a national winner after the semi-final, after hearing a different version without the chorus. Hopefully the majority of Europeans will appreciate our folk part added to this song 😉 if they won’t, agh tough, but we, Lithuanians, love it 😀❤️
By the way this song was written by Monika and also 2 Latvian writers which last year were also a part of the creative team which wrote Citi Zēni "Eat your salad" song. Edit:Forgot to mention that they both also co-wrote Paulina's "Let me think about me".
@@escziva69 Yeah!😅Completely agree!😀At first it also shocked me and I couldn't believe it is true but I guess that songwriters can write very different songs. If you want to check or see than those 2 people are Chris Noah and JJ Lush.
8 years of Monika experience in lithuanian national selection , finally brought her to the long waited victory 🙂she truly deserved it to win , also a bit sad that Ruta Mur , Beatrich , and beautiful performer like Paulina was left behind , i wish so much of luck to Monika during her journey of Eurovision 2023 , during those three months she will have so much work with her song Stay , can't wait to see it her performance during rehearsals , and of course i believe everything will go very well and Monika Linkytė just like previous representer of Lithuania Monika Liu will go straight to grand final 🙂💛💚❤ Another beautiul Eurovision queen arrives to conquer eurovision stage and the hearts of the people around the world ❤❤❤❤
Paulina is just not as famous in Lithuania than Monika. And monika included some folk elements in the song that for Lithuanians means more. I love Paulina's song but I'm also happy with Monika's❤️❤️❤️
I love it and I’m very happy about it, but I’m also sad than ruta and paulina. Lithuania just had a very strong final. Paulina did change her big note in her final performance and I really didn’t like that. Sounded more screamy than her other soft but powerful vocals in the choruses. But I doubt that made that much of an impact in the result, not sure why she didn’t place higher.
Was expecting Ruta to win and the voting was CLOSE with the juries giving precedent since they BOTH got 22 points, but this song got chosen and i'm actually NOT mad! Monika has significantly improved since her semi final performances!
It was my #16 of PiN after the heats. It sounded too jarring in its transitions, a bit too repetitive, and too one-note for me. It was my #7 of the 10 finalists heading into the final. And somehow it ended up in my personal top 2/3 of the night (maybe even winner 🤷♂️). They made so many correct adjustments to the song. Never had I had a song rise this much in my national final rankings.
A question, if someone could please help me out: she & Ruta Mur ended in a tie, each grabbing a 1st & 2nd in Jury and Televote, resulting in 22 points each. What was the tie-breaker? Just curious.
Everyone's complaining about the juries breaking the tie, but Ruta was not nearly as good so I am happy about it. My 6th place so far probably. PAULINA ROBBED QUEEN BTW (she would have been my current winner 🥲) Also France's song is out! You should react to it as I think you would like it.
So what happened to Paulina imo is that she knew she wasn't quite a favorite and psyched herself out. Those big notes that sounded great in the semi, crashed and burned on the night. I think the nerves just got to her and she blew her voice out a little. Unfortunate, but it happens. Hopefully we'll see her back soon.
Maybe it's just me but I feel like the pre-chorus sounds too much like both Arcade and Euphoria! The parts where she sings "Stay" and "Wait"...which is quite distracting.
Yeah they had the same points but in this specific case I think that the jury vote had to be the tiebreaker because in the televote the results betweem them were so small(some 100-200votes)basically the same but if it would have been a landslide then I would agree that the public vote should have been the main thing but yeah for me it depends on the situation whether I think that jury vote or televote is correct to be a tiebreaker.
I'm from Lithuania, but this year song nothing interesting... It was 2020, 2021 The Roop here was perfect performance songs, every one knows these songs, and this one, like every year.... Not Eurovision final song....
They actually changed the chorus. Before it was full English but here they used the ethnic part from the end also in the chorus
thats like the best thing they could’ve done it elevated the song so much
@@arenpetrosyan4995 totally agree! Before that I thought what a boring song. But final version won my heart.
Aaaaand they have elevated her look as well! From white dress to this sunny outfit with shimmery leggins.

Nice voice and good song :) Good luck in Liverpool :) 🇱🇹

Jury votes are tie-breaker.

Ruta was good and improved her performance...BUT SO DID Monika!
I love this song I definitely see this in the final of Eurovision fantastic vocals great stageing I hope this song goes through to the grand final.

I loved this performance (big improvement from the semis!) but Paulina was still my winner! She even changed the final high note which was 👌
Ruta mur and Monika got the same amount of points but for some reason the juries broke the tiebreak.

pls react to France
Reaction France ?
tough task to qualify....
Pleasantly middle.
This year seems like a general downgrade for every country's song. Good lord, 2021 and 2022 were amazing years
The songs a not bad but peps expectations get higher and higher every year I think
Completely disagree, this year's songs are just as awesome as last year's, especially Czechia
@@aurered6387 that is true, so it helps in the dissappintment
Not every country but in a majority of countries that are joining eurovision it seems like it is a totally downgrade like Croatia
@@Tommy_G5 Of course, not every, but the majority. Not every year can be fantastic
