My concern with Eddie now is no matter who we sign in the future that he will still play the same tactics and formation he's used his entire career. Bad subs awful game management.
Elanga has as many goals as Miggy this season, what would be the point? He has two assists in 15 apperances this season and he would cost more around 40 million. I get the point that we dont have to get a big name, but surely Elanga is not the answer?
They've watched Elanga and see something. His return this season isn't great but there's a thought he'll have another level or two go to. Who would you bring in?
Definitely think we could scout abroad for players. Ashworth did start a legacy of getting young players signed which will probably get first team minutes in the future surely this is the way to continue and it doesn’t really effect our Pat does it ?
Elanga is nowhere near good enough, if we go buy him then we are finished, which we probably will do... I mean we bought osula that scored 0 goals in 28 matches lol.
@@everythingisblackandwhiteNUFCI have to admit that after my comment Elanga has been really good! So yeah they were right, there is something about him surely. We wont be getting him now anyways, as Forest is flying, but yeah i was wrong about him.
I think bringing in new players and them being ‘names’ is important because it obviously strengthens the squad but - and I think this is the primary reason for us - also because of the psychological impact new, ‘big’ faces have. It’s the ‘freshening up’ thing as well as the whole ‘statement of ambition’ as well. If I was Eddie and I was called in to the office with the Head Sheds to explain our situation (and justify my position) one thing I would bring up would be the lack of signings. I would say that the statements of ambition are not being backed up by investment. Yes, PSR etc etc…… but the fact remains that the squad is still half pre take over. Another thing is the fact that last season was essentially a write off through injury and suspensions. Had we had half the injuries last season and the performance was the same there would be a lot of pressure on Eddie but the ‘through the roof’ matches lost through injury count means that it’s hard to judge. My take on the season is that the work done on team building, togetherness, unity and the like has been very effective. Too effective. I think it’s created a ‘loving family atmosphere’ where everyone is very comfy and valued. And complacent. It’s elite competitive sport. Making Bruno captain I think k was a mistake. I think he sees it too much as a reward and he’s too into be nice and supportive. Really, we should have made Dan Burn captain. Because he plays every game like his life and that of his whole family depends on it and, therefore, you should too and if you don’t he wants to know why!
Johan Bakayoko, Tyler Dibling much cheaper than Elanga. Need to let Mitchell do his thing, it is clear we need a number of players, squad and first team, it is time we have to take risks and trust Mitchell, who has previously mentioned 3 per window.
Hi Andrew love the Birdseye view show always on the mark. I said on Monday about shopping the sort of Forest way in the market buying in 30million plus players as we can’t keep spending £60million on 1 signing anymore as we need more signings in 1 doesn’t go far these days. Is players about for cheaper prices looks at Delap for example went for £20 million the likes of dibbling could have been scouted Southampton in championship last season so these players are about. So I certainly wouldn’t turn my nose up scouting younger talent that can potentially make us better.
The problem with Howe is he can’t attract players with winning mentality to the club because they don’t respect him. Trippier was a rare exception but Howe had previously worked with him at Burnley so that helped.
Longstaff would create more headroom in psr than Barnes because all profit whereas Barnes book value is still about £30 million, so not much profit in him.
There’s a bit of a disconnect in buying below-the-radar players to flip for profit… Howe’s not developing fringe players so their value is decreasing (youth, osula, Lewis, GKs… … Ruddy 👀)
I'm board when people put the narrative "if we won here or picked up a point there we be having a different conversation", we didn't so address where we are rather then what could be.
Andrew do you think PIF should, buy Kingston park its big enough for a huge stadium and for the time being Falcons and Thunder could play at st James park until the new multipurpose stadium if built
Top missed opportunity is not bringing in £10 million of commercial deals - like training ground sponsor.. this would have let us keep Elliott (sold for £30m BUT we had to buy their unwanted 3rd choice keeper for £20m so it was net £10m. Anderson is a fantastic player, was Gordon's best mate, and his shock departure disrupted the team morale
I see what you’ve getting at but that’s not how the ££ works. It’s much more murkier and convoluted. There’s a few videos out there that explain the whole thing much better than I can. It’s basically totally bent, to be honest. Accountancy tricks. Not quite in the realm of chewsi selling themselves hotels but that sort of ball park.
Elanga is way too expensive. If we supposedly put in a 50M bid back in the summer i certainly wouldn't be going back in at that number or even higher in January as no doubt Forest will put a premium on his fee due to it being a mid season transfer. The links yesterday with Bakayoko from PSV seem a lot better to me. 21 years old, Belgian International/CL Player and somebody in the future with probably a high fee to cash in on if we did end up selling him 4/5 years down the line
@@everythingisblackandwhiteNUFC this has mitchell's fingerprints all over it. opening up that european contact book and finding youth blended with european experiance and getting the right age profile. if im honest i would prefer bakayoko over Mbuemo and Elanga. I know that might not be a popular opinion but if the club are going to be constantly tangled by PSR i'd much rather seek value on the continent than over inflated PL figures. This is the whole reason we brought Mitchell in in the first place!
Hasn't been backed in 3 transfer windows isn't true. This summer and January yes. But they spent nearly 150 million on tonali Barnes livramento and hall last summer
Howe shouldnt be backed, he bought a striker in the summer that has 0 goals in 28 matches last season and he is not even 3rd striker lol. Yes he only cost 15 million but you get the point, best to just get a propper manager in...
Howe = Not rotating players when opportunity arises. Flogging player's causing further injuries. Playing favourites no matter what. Sticking to same tactics when clearly not working. Missed opportunities indeed
Good manager but I fear he has brought a lot of noise upon himself. As aforementioned plus isolating star players, i.e., removing captaincy, playing lads out of their preferred positions, swapping players' positions even in one game does not provide stability for them nevermind fans
Completely disagree don't think Elanga improves us at all. Semenyo - Bournemouth Mbuemo - Brentford Fofana & Cherki - Lyon All players that should be looked at for wide areas. Liam Delap - Ipswich Ferguson - Brighton Players of that ilk for Striker
You’re using examples of Robertson and Van Dijk who went to play for a world class manager in Klopp, who had won back to back Bundesliga titles for Dortmund against the great Bayern Munich and reached a UCL final. Come on Andrew do better.
My concern with Eddie now is no matter who we sign in the future that he will still play the same tactics and formation he's used his entire career. Bad subs awful game management.
To quote Carl Sagan “that which is asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.”
He changes tactics game to game just most people don't see it
His in game management does need to improve - his subs rarely work.
@@everythingisblackandwhiteNUFC give him better players then it's there responsibility aswell

Absolutely. Flash in the pan last season.

Thanks for watching! The issues you raise are important ones.A new arrival is so vital for the rest of the season.
Whoa, another one Andrew! You put some hours in!
Thanks for your comment! It's a privilege to bring you the episodes.
main issue with Barnes is he contributes nothing in tracking back, our defence need more support than that.
Johan Bakayoko, Tyler Dibling much cheaper than Elanga. Need to let Mitchell do his thing, it is clear we need a number of players, squad and first team, it is time we have to take risks and trust Mitchell, who has previously mentioned 3 per window.
I agree you need to trust Mitchell and leave him to work his magic. Johan Bakayoko would cost £30 million, the question is, can Newcastle afford that?
Hi Andrew love the Birdseye view show always on the mark.

Has Bunce's impact left our team with less ability to play with intensity and focus for the whole game to save on injuries?
Longstaff would create more headroom in psr than Barnes because all profit whereas Barnes book value is still about £30 million, so not much profit in him.
Thanks for watching, David. You're spot on but Longstaff is an important player for Howe - how much would it take for you to part ways with him?
I see very little leadership on the pitch, leadership is not stirring up the squad or making cryptic posts on social media.
We do need more communication on the pitch - I agree it's something that is missing.

Andrew do you think PIF should, buy Kingston park its big enough for a huge stadium and for the time being Falcons and Thunder could play at st James park until the new multipurpose stadium if built
Elanga is not a step up to what we have now .
Hi Terry, thanks for your comment. Who would you like to see them buy?
Barnes has scored alot of goals this season.. for me.. Barnes stays!
You'll not be the only one thinking this!

Newcastle must move players on but it is not a short term project no quick fix we have waited 50 years let's do it the correct way
In ideal world they would move players on but there aren't any takers for their fringe players!

Crazy discussion on Barnes he hasn't been great when starting... but who has? Seems like an agenda
if we targeted Elanger, he should have been used in the Elliot deal.

Elanga can't even get into Forest's starting xi 😂. More overated premier League proven crap.
Ouch! Don't hold back. Who would you go for?
Sell Trippier He doesn't even look like he wants to be here
For me you are looking at wrong players to sell... murphy, barnes. Bruno, tonali our better players need to play better, sorry.
I don't rate Elanga we can do better than that
