A little late to the party, but I do have a question if you're still following this... Followed your tute as to-the-letter as I could. I've encountered two problems. 1) The wires/ball combo will not constrain to those horizontal axes the way they do in your video. It will snap to one, but it remains parallel to the suspending bars. It will not swing over 90 degrees to meet the second horizontal axis -- if that makes sense. And, I get a conflicting constraint error message. I remodeled the sphere/wires part, but the same thing happened -- AND -- this second time, the sphere is ghosted, and I've not been able to determine why. 2) I could not get the offset planes to work either. Whenever I input + or -1.5in, the offset plane would appear, but clicking on the green check mark made it disappear. Instead, I put in construction lines to act as snapping constraints. Thanks.
first thank you for comprehensive video then i have problems! I just tried to follow every second of video but compare to your list under Standard joints i have another lots of stuff! like "Point-Line:2(Ground,ball:1) or Point-Plane:14(Grounded,ball:1) ...etc....realy mix up where i was wrong
Sorry to be so offtopic but does anyone know a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost my login password. I would love any tricks you can give me
@Darius Damian I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Hello, thanks for your video on Dynamic Simulation. Found it easy to follow and now have a new interest in Dynamics. I'm currently working on a design of a crane which has a simple moving load along a monorail and would like to work out how to do this in Dynamic Simulation. I have an Inventor 2022 model already drawn which I can send if you wish. Would greatly appreciate your feedback, would it be possible to get in touch.
Hi! I followed every step of the tutorial (which by the way, was excellent) but I need to know how I can arrange 3d contact because I thought it was only about selecting the parts but when I run the simulation, the first ball swings but does not make any contact with no ball. Besides, I noticed that for 2d contact, the edges of each pair of contacting balls were selected (3d compass is set at the edges) whereas for 3d contact, only at the center of the sphere the compass was set. Hope you can help me please!! Thank you :)
3d contact is not the best choice for this sim. We do not have as much control over the 3d contact verses the 2d contact for apply real world friction and restitution. that being said a 3d contact can be apply to a solid part, whereas a 2d contact is primary used on edges that are in the same plane. So in this example we are using the sketch that was created in the ball part as that edge which in turn will engage with the sketch in the next ball. so for this to work properly we have to have the ball parts sketches in the same plane. hope this helps.
somehow i cant get the balls to swing free. I've replaced the constraints but when i try to swing the ball the entire construction moves.. any geuss on what i've done wrong? Awesome tutorial btw, thx!!!
if the whole assembly is moving then double check that the base is ground in the assembly, and ground in dynamic sim. the base and the supports should be in the ground group, and the ball assemblies should be in the mobile group.

Thanks for this! Awesome demonstration of the Dynamic Simulation Environment.
I tried setting the gravity to Mars and the Moon. Lots of playroom.

@Darius Damian it worked and I actually got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much, you saved my ass!
@Jeremy Andy no problem =)
Had no idea this was possible, thanks for the video.
You bet!

Easily the best video on this topic!!

@@MorrisonInst1973 I have the same problem in the 2D mode, the first ball just go through the other balls, all the balls just go through other
That was Brilliant, Thank you for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it! Be sure to subscribe.
Really cool. I would like to render it in inventor studios, is that possible. Having a hard time figuring out how to do it in that case.
I have put your request in the que and will get a video made using inventor studios with this assembly, Look for it in the next week or two.

@@MorrisonInst1973 it works so far now!! Thanks a million!! Awesome
You are amazing.. I am good for inventor and always i say that %50 i know in all of them. Thats way... Amazing.
BRILLANT
Thanks for this marvelous tutorial. You helped me a lot.
Glad to hear that!
Thanks, really great video!
just use Blender bro
