What I like about this chapter is that Theon seems to have regained his wits. If only he had stayed with Rob instead of going to the iron islands she would’ve been an essential friend and support for the young wolf. Remember Rob is basically surrounded by old men and his mother in his counsel. Although he was a bit colder than Rob he had a certain cool shrewdness and healthy caution about him. I also feel like the whole Westerling incident would’ve been avoided because Dion would’ve been too paranoid about the whole thing and would’ve stuck by his side if he was injured. But of course these books are going to go just so smoothly often times the other chooses to subvert all expectations because I did not see that betrayal coming. If anything, Rob pretty much made Jon and Theon feel just like brothers. Especially with Theon when they went to war he forgot about any Differences of feeling being a ward or anything he treated him with respect. He trusted him above his mother‘s instincts.
Tanner Jablowski XD I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully he cauterizes that soon. What a nonsensical end that would be for a character whose been well established to be cautious and calculating.
What was the ending?! Why was the ground shaking? Could it be foes or reinforcements. If that was tyrion he would have sent another bird to winterfell, this time with false information. Theon is doing stannis a favor by telling him a lie about false arya. False Arya is an asset and a hostage to stannis as much as it will last, the protector of the lady of winterfell. If false arya gets killed the boltons hold to the north will always be poor.

The show is a joke at this point (except for Lyanna Mormont). Completely misses the point of creating a complex world, from geography to mythology to politics.
I haven't enjoyed watching it for a while now, but I do because I'd rather find out stuff that might be relevant to book theorizing first hand than by reading it on recaps. So I probably will, but not in a like "oh, this is still cool" kind of way. Just for the sake of investigation.

I appreciate it man. Everything posted before the Mercy chapter, including this one, was recorded with a super cheap MXL condenser mic. Everything after Mercy was with an Avantone CV12 condenser. I plugged these into an audio interface (though you can get an amazing sounding USB condenser mic for cheap) and edited in either Pro Tools or Reaper (which is free).
Has Stannis conveniently forgotten the Council of 101 AC that set the precedent for women not inheriting the throne? He keeps talking about crowning Shireen after his death.
Stannis viewed rhaenaerya as a traitor, so it’s safe to assume he agrees with the councils decision. That being said, the council didn’t say no female can inherit the throne; it said no female can inherit when there’s an existing male claimant. However, no such male claimant exists. That’s why Stannis told Renly he’d make him his heir were he to support him. Once Renly died, Shireen was the only Baratheon heir left!
The question is why Bran and Bloodraven want Theon to be killed in front of a Weirwood. If he is sacrificed to the trees he will join the Weirwood net. What information could Bloodraven want that Theon has inside his head? He does have kingsblood after all so maybe they want him for that reason too. Also, "Take him out across the lake to the islet where the weirwood grows". Where is this islet Asha is talking about? They're in the Wolfswood but there are no islets in the middle of lakes marked on any maps of the North. Reminds me of the God's Eye.
There are theories saying that Theon will be sacrificed to the Old Gods of the North to resurrect Jon Snow, like how Shireen will be a sacrifice to the Lord of Light, a resurrection of Ice and Fire!
Its funny how stannis could totally be an okay King, even if he's extremely harsh with his judgment but he continuously goes out of his way to piss in everybody's cornflakes, and the fact that his daughter had greyscale means that the northmen will never follow him due to their beliefs on grayscale
Not digging the part where stannis cuts his thumb to sign the contract in blood. It comes off as just being edgy and very unlike Stannis. Stannis is a king, a battle commander, and a soldier in the midst of a siege that is facing severe weather troubles. Can he really afford to be slicing his thumb open? That could take weeks to heal. Will he be able to hold a sword or a shield with that hand now? Could he even tie with boots with it? What if it gets infected? Why bother when they had ink nearby?
Stannis commands from the rear, so being able to fight isn’t as necessary for him. Also considering how he sliced open his left hand, he could still hold a sword or lance. Shields aren’t as necessary when you’re in full plate armor, as Stannis would surely be in.
Also, I left out the reason he did it: it was purely theatrical, to show Tycho his conviction and resolve, so that he’d be more likely to reassure his masters of Stannis’ character and likelihood to repay his debts.
Here is the real Stannis. Proclaims his daughter as his heir, a farcry from burning her alive.
and most of all, his wife and daughter are safe at castle black

Amazing voicing brother! I would listen to you reading all books starting from AGOT!
This is really good I hope to hear more.
Thank ya thank ya. There is oh so much more coming, I promise. I've really enjoyed making these.
Am I wrong in remembering the mandales didn't really kill sir Davos?? Been such a long time since I read this book.
They didn’t, they sent him to Skagos to get Rickon, but Stannis thinks he is dead
So, Bloodraven is clearly trying to help via the ravens.
It's bran already :) That's why the wind (trees) and raven say "Theon"
Another great reading, nice one man.
I definitely reckon Bran is talking through the mouths of those ravens.
Keith David as Stannis was an inspired choice
good job on the reading
29:50 Ser Anus Frey?
*Aenys, but I'll give you that one considering all Freys are arseholes
Richard Gaskell Hey, that's Freyist, and I'm offended! Stop generalizing damn it, not all Freys are the same. #FreyLivesMatter
Aight minus Stevron Frey, the rest are cunts
HOLD THE FUCKIN PHONE, you can't forget my boy Cleos.
I knew I was forgetting someone, Cleos Lannis-Frey. Genuinely couldn't remember his name
I miss stannis
legend has it to this year theon still wants to know his name
this stannis is the best stannis

Stannis The Mannis!
I like Reek. There should have been a lot more of the comedic duo Ramsey & Reek
what do you use to voice and edit these chapters? I've listened all the Winds of Winter sample chapters you've uploaded. You do a great job!
Wombie Ferguson Thank you for the quick response and the hard work narrating these chapters.
Ay, thanks for being pleasant. Glad to answer any questions!
dude you do a hell of a stannis and theon.
Loved your reading !
The King's voice was choked with anger
The only thing I didn't like was Theon saying "the know my name". He should have sounded more like Stannis there. I think Bran will rescue Theon.
How will he do that?
Has Stannis conveniently forgotten the Council of 101 AC that set the precedent for women not inheriting the throne? He keeps talking about crowning Shireen after his death.
Stannis the Mannis is Westeros' first feminist icon
Stannis viewed rhaenaerya as a traitor, so it’s safe to assume he agrees with the councils decision. That being said, the council didn’t say no female can inherit the throne; it said no female can inherit when there’s an existing male claimant. However, no such male claimant exists. That’s why Stannis told Renly he’d make him his heir were he to support him. Once Renly died, Shireen was the only Baratheon heir left!
@@Pentagathusosaurus this made me die laughing omg
The question is why Bran and Bloodraven want Theon to be killed in front of a Weirwood. If he is sacrificed to the trees he will join the Weirwood net. What information could Bloodraven want that Theon has inside his head? He does have kingsblood after all so maybe they want him for that reason too.
Also, "Take him out across the lake to the islet where the weirwood grows". Where is this islet Asha is talking about? They're in the Wolfswood but there are no islets in the middle of lakes marked on any maps of the North. Reminds me of the God's Eye.
Obviously they don't want him merely killed, come on. In stories things happen that are not spelled out beforehand.
Jooooger i believe that none has set foot on the isles of faces in the middle of gods eye.
There are theories saying that Theon will be sacrificed to the Old Gods of the North to resurrect Jon Snow, like how Shireen will be a sacrifice to the Lord of Light, a resurrection of Ice and Fire!
Absolutely fantastic. I will subscribe
Even though you’re American, the voices you do for each character are very fitting.
Prediction- The ravens are bran
Is winter ever coming out. I'm starting to think that I just need to be okay with it never been published. Has anybody heard anything?
George said he is 3/4 done with it so we might see it in a year or two
Its funny how stannis could totally be an okay King, even if he's extremely harsh with his judgment but he continuously goes out of his way to piss in everybody's cornflakes, and the fact that his daughter had greyscale means that the northmen will never follow him due to their beliefs on grayscale
3:10 one of my favorite Stannis exchanges
22:09
28:30 Is that supposed to be Yara/Asha Greyjoy
Stannis sounds like Ken kaniff
I’ve been pronouncing it as Ah-sha, not Ay-sha, in my head the whole time.
Great voice acting
Lol the king's voice is badass
