    take the old nesting box you removed and build a new bottom box under it with an approx 3 in tall gap. you then place a 40 to 60 watt light bulb within this gap to create 40 to 50 degree air gap. leave a 2in hole on the opposite side for air flow to escape.

    Hi , i was thinking you should put a camera in there and see how they interact with the chicken hatch thing, the first thing i thought of when i looked at it was the height seems a bit low especially with your chickens they look big, but anyway just a thought.
    Oh how many watts are the heating pads?

    I absolutely love this idea! Do you have the instructions/plans for making these nesting boxes? I'm starting to look at getting chickens, and our budget is calling for a lot of DIY 😅
