I read the comments and apparently Mr. Eric you're in Heaven now. I really am digging your recipes and I've decided to make this cake for the Christmas cake this year. I'm the baker in the family now and for the last few years, everyone wanted a lemon pound cake or a 7-Up pound cake or I even made a cream cheese pound cake. But this year, I'm making this little show stopper and I know, based on your presentation and the comments below, this is gonna be a hit! Thanks Eric and RIH. ;)

pre-set 325 degrees
(for the crunch this is a must!)
dust/flour pan with butter crisco + non stick spray
then dust with sugar and your coconut flakes
sooo here we are:
1/2 block of cream cheese ....
1 1/2 cup of BUTTER CRISCO....
3 cups of GRAN. sugar MIX by timer 5 min
(get a little dollar store timer)
5 eggs (add one at a time)
NOW FOR FLAVOR...
HERE WE GO...... 1 TEASPOON EACH ...
.VANILLA ....
ALMOND....
BUTTER...
RUM...
COCONUT...
LEMON....
ORANGE
3 cups of ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1 1/4 cup of WHOLE MILK
1 TEASPOON SALT
1 TEASPOON BAKING POWDER
yes! you must bang the pot
put a pot holder underneath the pan to keep noise down
FOR THE GLAZE....... 2 CUPS OF SIFTED POWDER SUGAR 1/3 CUP OF MILK THEN 1/2 TEASPOON OF SAME SEVEN FLAVORS 1/2 STICK OF MELTED BUTTER...
BAKING TIP heat NOT BOIL milk and butter together THEN add POWDERED sugar together til warm stir til incorporated ...take off stove ...wait til cool THEN add all the flavors ...RIGHT AFTER cake is pulled out ...put a thin layer of glaze on the cake...wait 10 min ...then add another layer...wait 10 min ...REPEAT this until all the glaze is added ...it forms a really nice crust

i'd have been wiping those spatters on the pan and the counter with my finger and licking it off. and of course cleaning the bowl and mixer blade before the go in to be washed.

This cake looks so good. It reminds me of the cake I had at my last wedding. I've been trying to figure out the recipe since, I think I found it here. I think I"m going to try this cake as a 2 layer with 7 flavor cream cheese icing... yum! yum!
