Oh my goodness I’m in this footage at 1.43, our burgers were paid for and we had to walk up the vendor and take the burger and bite into it. I can’t believe I’ve found this. I’ve tried to trace it all my adult life. It’s a bit short and sweet but managed to screenshot the still when I finally paused it after about 20 attempts. Thanks so much for sharing, it’s made my day!
@Kjell Johnsson well fancy that. Yes it’s me alright! They didn’t show my friend, just me. Now nearly all my family have been able to see it and I have saved it. Well, who knew he was Swedish and used a stage name as it were. What a link between Sweden and Southend in Essex, England
THE GREATEST INSTROMENTAL OF ALL TIME. WITH THE GREAREST VIDEO OF ALL TIME BY THE GREATSET ARTEST OF ALL TIME KING HANK C BURNETTE.. MY BRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Remember this well as a 13 year old kid just becoming aware of Rockabilly. This record was released just at the right time when a load of youngsters were looking at 50's music. I used to be able to bop all the way through this record and not be out of breath lol
The ultimate Boogie instrumental, never beaten and never to be beaten. One of the few tunes I played almost every evening in my 22 years as an nostalgic dj.
If memory serves me right, this video clip was originally shown on the BBC's "Multi coloured swap shop" They ran an item about all the custom cars attending the monthly Chelsea cruise. Those were the days when cars were individualized by petrolheads with imagination unlike the mass produced tin can's that are made today. Still got my vinyl single of this as well. Brilliant.
First time I heard it was on Radio Luxemburg (AM 408) way back in 1976, on an simple handheld Radio. Got to be one of the most complicatred and best R'n'R boogies ever made ! It never got out of my mind ever since ! Thanks Hank !
You have probably heard this before. But this was the first 45 I bought. Love it and still got it. Don't stop and keep Rockin' kat / cat / kid. . . . Cheers.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I first heard this on a Rockabilly album I bought in the 70's. The album was brilliant, this was the last song on the second side and it just blew everything else away. Possibly the best instrumental ever, it hits you right in the heart and stays there.Thank you.
What a great track! I first heard this in the 1970s and it's stayed with me ever since. All the classic riffs in it. Play loudly and proudly on a straight, fast bit of road, with hair flying in the wind. Thanks! Will
I bought this in '76 & still have it to this day. The best Rockin' Boogie instrumental I've ever heard. Shame it's only 2:54, I would loved the have heard a longer version. Keep Rockin' Hank.
Hi there, Rockin' T.C.!! You can find the ORIGINAL version of "Spinning Rock Boogie", which is 4:32 in length, at this link: Hank C. Burnette - "Spinning Rock Boogie" (ORIGINAL VERSION) Thanks a bundle for the very kind words! Stay Rockin', buddy!!
Totally awesome. This was the version I had back in the 70's. Ripped it from vinyl onto audio cassette and used to play it at full belt in the car (with the windows down of course). The old man said it sounded like I was driving an ice cream van around, old fogey. Thanks for posting it on here, first time I've heard it in years but still exactly as I remember it.
Yes Hank that one still great and as good now as it was back in 76 when I was 18 this is the the song that got me in to rockabilly music and glad it did because I still love that great music thank you Hank for introducing me to real rock n roll .

Som jag jagat den här inspelningen, som ett högst påtagligt minne från ett kassettband nån gång från mitten av 70.talet....en liten bit av svensk rockhistoria som aldrig kom upp till ytan? Fortfarande...helt fantastiskt....
Just heard this, on Steve Lamacq's show on bbc6music, for the first time in quite a while. I seem to remember it, or something very, very similar, being played by my dad on his stereo back in the early-70's, when I was but an infant . . .

Thanks for sharing this great music. I was a teenager in the 50's and early 60's, love this music. Keep up the good work. Your dad was on top of my list for sure.
SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING FROM 1950s. I think It was originally recorded in 1958 but, it was not until 1976 when it was a hit on British Charts. Don't know if it ever was a hit on American Charts.
Brilliant! I bought a copy of this in 1976 and just rediscovered it this morning. I'd always assumed it (and "Don't Mess With My Ducktail") was originally from the 50s and am surprised to learn it was first cut in 1971. Top-drawer rockabilly.
I loved this when I first heard it as a youth in the 70's. I thought of it again a few weeks ago but couldn't remember the name of the song - I could remember the ending line though. Google came through once again and I've since discovered I still love the song as much as I always did. A daily dose is mandatory now.

Hello Hank C. ! I discovered your records with this great track ! I heard it for the first time in 1977 , on the radio , i was only 14 years old ! You're playing great Rockabilly & Rock'n'roll ! Greetings From France !
Somewhat sorry to say this, but there's NO sampling going on here whatsoever! Cut in my parents makeshift garage using equipment hardly worth the name. I gotta admit that making music was a lot more rewarding in those days and I somehow miss all the fun I had (draw my neighbors crazy and my parents desperate, ha, ha).

It's app. one minute longer than this re-edited hit version (has sold more than 8 million copies and was also released on the legendary SUN label in the States! Blimey, we had a conversation about it via youtube a whiles back (my other youtube thingy and you said you had it on video tape and would get around to it soon, guess you dont after all, I remember seeing it on TV with a double speed Lone Ranger cartoon, it stuck in my memmory for eternity....someone must recall it and someone must know about it lol but WHO ? Thanks anyway Hank :-) the mystery lives on................
Hi Hank.. My dad played me this back in '76 when I was 5 and it got me into Rock 'n' Roll in a big way. That in turn made me to want learn to play guitar and I'm still playing and recording. Started trying to learn to play parts of the song tonight and it ain't easy! I just came across this video and wanted to say thanks for making such a truly great and inspirational record.
Hi Graeme! Thanks so very much for the kind words!!!! It's comments like these that makes me realise that I've been on to something good and I might as well continue while I'm still at it! Have a terrific upcoming weekend...and summer!!!!
At last! the 5 words at the end have been bugging me for years - One of the R1 DJs in the lates 70s used to use it as a soundbyte and I had it once when I used to tape the top 40 (ah, the old days of piracy) and those 5 words followed either 'Who Are You' or 'Hong Kong Garden' on my tape (so Sep '78) but I never knew who it was and never figured it out til now.
+paul treneary Hey, nice to know that I've accomplished something worthwhile in my 'career', ha, ha! Thanks a LOT, mate, really appreciate it!! 'Can't Stop, Keep Rockin', Cat'!!
@@burnette44 FYI It cropped up again on BBC Radio 6 Music last week - I thought it was going to just be a clip again but I was stunned to hear the full version on the radio!
Hank when are we going to see the Lone Ranger Double speed TOTP vid from 1976 with this classic track which have been a fav of mine for many years............you promised };-)>
I remember seeing this at the cinema in the late seventies, thanks so much for sharing, thought I'd never see it again. Love your music Hank and this instrumental is just right for this video, just great.
Your absolutely right!! Someone ('Mrimwithstupidism'!) told me about this and I will have to slightly re-edit my Info accordingly into 'Southend On Sea'! Thanks for reminding me!!
At last! The record that knocked me silly the first time I heard it decades ago! And I still think it's sensational! Nice English (!) cruising video. Plus I noticed you have been featured on a pinball machine! That's also pretty cool. Great posting, Hank, and loads of interesting facts! Thanks a bunch! Tommy.
Incredible musicianship - wonder if it was played at the correct speed, or tape slowed during recording of the fast runs? I only heard this recently as they keep playing it on BBC6 Music, and absolutely love it now!
Hey Stevie, this upload and logically also this channel is Hank C. Burnette himself, so of Course it is at the correct speed. Regards and Thanks for listening !!!
Hi Stevie and thanks for the flattering remarks! Yes, every note you hear on this piece was played at the 'correct' speed, no hokey pokey whatsoever! Cut on an old beat up Tandberg reel-to-reel recorder using only a 1960 made Hagström 'plank' and a 1966 made cheap Supro Comet lap steel, plus a single German made snare drum...and that's it! Recorded in my parents makeshift garage way back in early 1971...those were the days!
Sorry 'bout messing up your Escort, buddy 🤣, hope you'll get over it in due course. Just kiddin', comments like these always shows that I'm on to something good and that's definitely one part of why I keep this 'racket' up the way I do, cause I love it! Take care and all the very best to you and yours 👍
P.S. I must've misunderstood you completely if I've promised you this video you're refering to and I'm sorry about that! I sure would like to see it myself and I can't for the life of me understand why the UK Sonet people didn't even bother to let me know that there was TWO different videos broadcasted at the same time...very strange indeed!! If you ever happen to stumble upon this Lone Ranger clip, PLEASE let me know, thanks a lot!!
'...dreadful crashing and banging in the background'?????????? Have you read the INFO?? Obviously not!! And if you can't stand rock'n roll at its outmost best (READ THE INFO, SONNY BOY!!), go ahead and stick to what you apparently are more familiar with! I usually don't brag about myself, but for cryin' out loud, this humble effort has sold more than 8 million copies & was feat. on the US SUN label!! Not bad for a track cut in my parents makeshift garage, using equipment hardly worth the name!!
Hi there!! Thanks a LOT for the kind comment, highly appreciated indeed!! And ... no there's no speeded up guitar here (á la Les Paul) but real-time playing all the way thru! Took some time though to put it all together, as I was using very standard recording equipment and pretty cheap guitars to make it! Cut in '71 in my parents makeshift garage!! Blimey, those were the days, indeed!!
Hiya mate!! Yep, I got the clip from Top Of The Pops and has posted it a few times on my FB wall!! Thanks so VERY MUCH for informing me, I didn't have a clue about this since none of the UK Sonet people bothered to tell me about it, for some obscure reason! Anyway, even though the clip is cut off at the beginning, it's real nice to get to know that it existed!!
Hi! To be quite frank with you, I've never seen the video clip you're refering to and much less have it in my possession! I havn't got the slightest idea about it, cause Sonet never sent me a copy of it! In fact, the video I've uploaded here I got from a friend who used to run a record co. here in Sweden in the '80s (Jukebox Records) and before that the only time I ever saw it was on a Xmas TV program here in Sweden in '76! Sorry, mate & if I promised you a copy of it I'm even more sorry!!

This track is the reason i blew my Escort gt motor back in the 70's to a full race ford anglia. I forgive you as the track is still epic in 2023😅👍
Sorry 'bout messing up your Escort, buddy 🤣, hope you'll get over it in due course. Just kiddin', comments like these always shows that I'm on to something good and that's definitely one part of why I keep this 'racket' up the way I do, cause I love it! Take care and all the very best to you and yours 👍
Hank, skulle du kunna tänka dig en intervju?
Whoahhh...this is some crazy playing!! Was it sped up a-la Les Paul or real-time playing???
Fantastic stuff....
Never argue with an idiot , they will drag you down to their level an beat you on the experience
@Kjell Johnsson I allra högsta grad 😁👍🎶

Yks parhaita biisejä. ellei paras. Do you read finnish, Hank? It says "Yks parhaita biisejä. ellei paras". That means awesome.
Did I just see a black T-Bird
