that's a valid point. If he was so guilty and not happy about the reactions this film attracted, almost everyday collection numbers he would publish on his twitter handle. He showed contradicting emotions at the same time.

Expectation:
Anand - misogynistic but loving boyfriend
Vaishnavi - loving girlfriend but wants to experience high life
Viraj - Manipulative f boi
By making Vaishnavi sleep with Viraj (adding Premistunna song for extra effect) and killing Anands mom, director created sympathy for Anand. And Viraj, who was supposed to be this pure negative character, director created confusion by him professing love in pre climax auto scene.
So Vaishnavis character bites the dust by being viewed as cheater (Anand) and gold digger (Viraj).

In the interviews, director mentioned that he used to write dialogues on the set. A movie dealing a sensitive topic should require more dedication than that. I never really understand how can someone weave together a whole story if they're writing things on the go. May be that's what has went wrong with this movie.

I watched the movie on OTT today and felt the idea was good to show two flawed characters and how insecurity and some stupid decisions affects the lives of people around them.
However, instead of showing everything objectively, the director somewhere took the side of Anand and that kind of sends out a wrong message.
Had the screenplay flow been via some other character, the movie could have been much much better.
