  • Mahmud Gawan Madarasa is an ancient madarasa or Islamic college in Bidar, Karnataka, India. And is an example of the regional style of Indo-Islamic architecture under the Bahmani Sultanate. It's a three storyed building which consists of many rooms. There were suparate rooms for girls and boys. It's a residential school in medival India.
    This heritage structure is placed under the list of monuments of national importance. The Madarasa is also an old Islamic school (Madrasa). The college was built by Muhammad Gawan who was a Persian scholar, the General and the Prime Minister in the court of Mohamad Shah III in 1472. And In 1696, the madarasa damaged by lightning.
    Above the information explained by Dr Shivkumar Uppe sir coordinator GFGC department of history PG studies and research center Bidar and Prof Smt. Suman Shindhe, Prof. Amarnath Shingode, Dr Amardeep Mogha, Prof. Rajshekhar Sajjan, Prof Devaraj Patil and Prof Ramesh Phule and MA II and IV sem students are present.
