That is a great little boat, love the top notch construction and finishes, it as a great layout and loads of storage. Nice to have dual power option as well when needed. Great tour Hugo thank you.
Superb boat. I'd definitely go for a Cat B with the addition of longer range tanks; but apart from that this really is "A Boat For All Reasons". Best of all - it's British.
Shame it doesn't have a second cabin with all that space available. I know there's a sorta bed in the heated salon, and plenty of floor space for kids in sleeping bags on air mattresses, but for that money you need a second cabin, even if it's a crypt. There's space available to put a box on the floor providing access and standing headroom for changing clothes.
You are 100% right, in 40ft boat you really should have two cabins, paying that much money and kids or gests have to sleep in salon, but as he said, you can have two cabins, just this owner decided not to
@@scubacro5758 He said the second cabin option is in lieu of the big galley downstairs. I like the big galley downstairs over a much smaller galley upstairs. I wonder if that is an option - should be doable.
If you were a retired couple doing the European waterways that layout would work.
Two immediate thoughts. First well done on the power train. That is exactly where inland craft should head. Embrace the future!! And secondly, is that not a lot of space wasted everywhere? Boats are usually crammed full of stuff into every corner, so to see a boat with a much simplified layout is both refreshing and perhaps a bit of a waste. Can't quite make my mind up on that.

If I had the money, I would order one tomorrow. Its a fine boat. Straight diesel would do me; although I drive a hybrid car and like it. Lead acid traction battery's are probably a safer option ,I personally think on a small boat. They give good service over their life and cheaper than the li -ion . The finish and layout is great. Galley up would be my option with the extra cabin. A boat you could comfortably spend a week or two holiday on and not be falling over each other. 10/10

Great review, very nice boat. I also watched a Bolt 37 Grand review, which those interested in such boats might want to consider. It addresses some of those points this boat is lacking, plus £100 K cheaper.

Fab boat and fab tour as ever, Hugo. Thanks for that. Particularly reassuring that it's built in the UK. Would like a longer version with 3 cabins/2 heads so I could have my kids and grandchildren along. Rivers would do me just fine, but do you think the draught would cope with canals too? That would be a bonus! See you next time
I work at Piper Boats who have built this boat. We do a range of Dutch barges that offer more bedrooms and heads and are perfect for the Thames and the European waterways.

Hi Hugo, And thank you for bringing this river cruiser what is steel build this Piper 12 C Cruiser and it looks great with a hybrid power engine, nice looking cockpit the spaceious salon with settee on on side and u dinette on the other side the home style galley and a bathroom with sepetated shower great for the Dutch water ways ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks a lot, it is a beautiful boat with a fair price but I have 2 questions: Is it motorized enough for a river with a very strong flow and is it insulated enough for cold days during wintertime?
There should be an option to ditch the hybrid system and have a second cabin underneath the stairs then you could sleep at least 6 people and still have the large galley
You said it can be made as Category B for the channels how do you accomplish that?
That's perfect to me it's good for one person or a couple can it be used in saltwater

This boat needs a second cabin, then it would sell in buckets. Love this boat, thames to France want a great trip.
How strange it's not just all-electric, considering the weight of those fuel tanks and engines could be replaced with more lead-acid, or simply much lighter and compact Li-On. Also strange that so much space is wasted as empty voids, and yet the only cabin looks really cramped.
I have never liked the layout of these sedan type steel cruisers. Being stuck inside for hours when steering doesn't appeal. My Dutch steel cruiser was an aft cabin model giving both inside and outside steering positions, in practice I was outside 98% of the time with a grand view all around. It also gives much better bedroom accommodation than you will get with these type of sedan cruisers.
