The original Interview Loopings.nl is referencing was actually taken by german RUclips-Channel Ride Review and taken from this Video: ruclips.net/video/UyHke_HlH-A/видео.html .
In that interview, Manuel Prossotowicz, the „creative director“ of movie park Germany, also clearly says that GCI Titan track would be the parks favorite option.
In older interviews about the same topic Manuel Prossotowicz also said multiple times that Bandit would not get an RMC-treatment because the park wants to keep it a family friendly ride.
So, an RMC conversion of bandit sadly is highly unlikely and a partial or full conversion into GCI Titan-Track(most likely without big changes the layout) would be much more plausible.

To add sone further facts: the Park knows from this complaints since more than a half decade. The even had to close some seats of the train because the rattle was to heavy in the back.
But the Park has no money, it’s getting molken by the company that owns them. They even took so much money that the MP couldn’t pay the trade tax at their city, even though that this tax is related to the turnover of a company in Germany.
Last year the also had to close because they couldn’t pay their energy bill…
It would be the best for the park if it’s getting bought by the state and operated like Efteling.

As much as I would love to finally get an RMC in Germany, I doubt that Movie Park is going to go the full RMC route. Park officials have said in the past, that they want to keep Bandit as a family friendly thrill coaster. Considering their ride lineup and park identity, I do understand that - echoing what you said later in the video. I believe the best case scenario realistically is Titan track with some light reprofiling, smoothing things out and adding a few new elements.

  • @Drair_Rene
    @Drair_Rene 3 месяца назад +10

I don't think that RMC will get the contract for the revision of Bandit.
Movie Park emphasises in every statement about Bandit how popular the coaster is and the park would open up a gap with a real RMC, because then the park would no longer have a coaster without inversions.
I think GCI will win the race. But in such a way that the layout is also adapted (without inversions)
Because if Movie Park goes with RMC and doesn't have any inversions installed, that's kind of disappointing because you know that you can do more with RMC.
But you also have to say that the park wants to focus on other areas first due to the popularity of Bandit (stop riding it). The park would prefer to tear down the entire pier area and build something new, but has not yet received approval from the Spanish owners.
Nickelodeon Land needs a complete overhaul, at least in terms of paths and spaces (I repeat myself here... Please make Movie Park a park with hedges, flowers and trees, that would be more pleasant in summer and can be realised without tearing anything down)
and there is also Time Rider.

Most of the coasters don't have inversions in the park, in fact the only ones with inversions are star trek and the slc so an rmc would actually be a great fit and even out all the family coasters

    • @Drair_Rene
      @Drair_Rene 3 месяца назад

@@darealsavage3472 But Bandit is the only large coaster without inversion.
remember the only big coasters are Star Treck, Bandit and the SLC.

Haven't had the chance to visit Movie Park yet, but I get the impression that they're satisfied having a Mack multi-launch and Vekoma SLC as their most intense coasters. Reprofiling the fan turns and hills to provide better airtime while adding Titan Track to high-stress areas is probably good enough for Bandit. Like Sarah mentioned, a ground-up family I-Box would fit in well later on. While one inversion would be great, the structure might not be able to handle Infinity Flyer trains.

I remember another Ride Review interview with a Movie Park Executive, maybe a year ago or two, and they said they considered RMC, but it was prohibitively expensive. The owners, Parques Reunidos, also come over as extremely cost sensitive in all interviews. Like MP needs to beg for every investment. So RMC is very unlikely.

    • @CoasterStudios

Getting the full RMC treatment seems unlikely, because it would convert it to a quite extreme coaster (from GP perspective) and the park would be missing a "big" non-inverting coaster. That would create quite a gap as inversions are usually the key factor to avoid the coaster (again: from a GP perspective), not so much height or speed.

I think GCI will definitely win. I think they might do some mild re-profiling but that's it. I think they would want to keep Bandit as their family thrill coaster. It really depends what they want to do with it.
If they just want to keep the same coaster, but fix it with steel then GCI seems the better choice. Titan track has had significantly more success than RMC 208. And parks seem to love it.
Titan track is easier for the park to perform maintenance on themselves.

My second woodie ever was Bandit one year later(it had a different name back then). From that thing I remeber that I didn't like the twist in the first drop and that the rest is a hazy blur. I've ridden it 5 times I think and still I have no idea where that train takes me. The shaking just takas away from everything possibly enjoyable.
Untamed took what I found was an enjoyable coaster, to a whole different level. If RMC or GCI can do something with that big structure, than that would get me to visit that park again, because now, for me, there are'nt enough good coasters to be ridden.

Bandit Isn't As Rough As People Make It Out To Be. I Rode It 3 Times , 2 In The Very Front And 1 In The Very Back. The Front Row Was Quite Enjoyable , A Bit Bumpy But Nothing Too Painful , The Very Back Was Quite Rough However In My Opinion.
The Last Turn Into The Final Brakerun Was The Roughest Section Of The Ride , The Rest Of The Layout Was Enjoyable In My Opinion , Yes , I Enjoyed An RCCA Wooden Coaster , My Very First RCCA , And Very First Old School Woodie (( I Know , 1999 Isn't Considered Very Old School )) , Before That I Rode Troy At Toverland , A 2007 GCI.
Plus , Bandit Still Has It's Fans Believe It Or Not. So There Is A Chance Movie Park Will Either Put In Titan Track Or Maybe Even RMC's 208 Steel Track Which They Put On Other Woodies , Like Mine Blower , T-Express , Tremors And Timber Terror.

As others have mentioned before, the management seems to not wanna do RMC for it. Again even despite the roughness, Bandit is still a favorite amongst the parks core audience. Wooden coasters tend to fill that role often of being a classic all-rounder kinda ride in the family-thrill category. Thats at least the perception in most of Europe. Plus many families have strong nostalgia and would want to have their kids experience the same rides they did back in the day. So in other words, them saying "We're renovating Bandit and restoring it to its prime" would be better received from their core audience than saying "We're REPLACING Bandit with a brand new hybrid coaster".
Then again the General Public also weirdly wants coasters to be rough. They see the roughness as part of the thrill, and complains about new roller coasters being "too boring" for being smooth.

They didn't add 40 feet to HP Wildcat just by adding a truss -- it's an entirely new lift hill and drop, with the original one turned into the first inversion. If they could have added 3-5 elements before the old coaster even started, maybe they could have gone to 200'. ;)

They really should go for a high thrill ride, which only rmc could do with that layout and wooden structure.
As you guys mentioned: star trek is only a supportive attraction, but they need a signature ride. The park isnt huge, the space limited and they cant just put coaster or general attractions in the surrounding maintance buildings.
And they are also not europa park, where you dont need a high thrill ride to attract ppl, bcs you have so much great stuff there to ride.
But at least they have a pretty forceful cgi and a mega coaster, thats at least in the category thrill ride somehow. Maybe it will change now with voltron, who knows? Looks promising.
By that saying: they need to go for thr rmc comapany. But i doubt they can effort the money, cause they are really expensive and i dont know if they wanna have a high thrill ride. But just retracking it completely doesnt benefit the park at all.

As much as I would love an RMC coming to my "neighbourhood", there is no way this is happening. In fact, there is not even the smallest of layout changes coming and the reason is regulations.
Retracking with steel track would keep Bandit protected by what we call "Bestandsschutz" (roughly translates to protection of the existing). Changing the layout would require a new building permit and that will almost surely not be issued due to problems with the neighbours.

Also is Bandit really considered to be more attractive to families? Because if any family hasn't ridden it before, I would have guessed they would see that as a thrill coaster, but maybe not as much as Star Trek.

I don’t know. My dream is that we get a RMC in Germany. Movie Park is sadly the only park I really can see that could go that step, but will they?

I think Merlin hasn't done anything with rmc yet because they don't have a Park where an rmc would be a good fit. Alton towers wouldn't work, it wouldn't fit into Thorpe Park as well as Gardaland, you can forget the Peppa Pig lands or the SEA life Park, and while the Legolands could build a rmc Family coaster, I think a small Gravity group or a bobsled coaster ist more likely. At Heide Park, I could actually see it. The only other Parks in Germany I could see it in is freizeitland plohn or a Topper track at Hansa Park, if rmc ist still willing to build one

This is def the worst coaster ive ever ridden. Every 59953 retrack theyve done was just pure unnecessary the coaster is still AWFUL. I rode it first time last year at the halloween fest and i had a whiplash, Headache and i was just generally annoyed by it.
I do really hope that RMC will bless this coaster, or even GCI.

We cover news all over the world- when an important news update comes through about a U.S. park, we also cover it (hence the announcement video about the new Mattel park in Kansas City). We also just got back from a big international trip so that is why we have been publishing a lot of videos from there- once more U.S. parks open up for the year we will do vlogs from them too.
