I prepared a similar leaf in a way similar to how she does. I made a drink with the entire leaf. 😅 I have been quite sick for a week. The problem is that some of the latex is still inside the gel. Commercial regulations limit the amount of latex to 10 parts per million. At 0.1ppm in a commercial drink, there is essentially no toxic effect. I have drank an entire 1.5L bottle containing 130mL of aloe in a day without any issues. Granted, the drink I made was more like half that size with almost twice the aloe, but that should not have caused any issues if the latex content was as low as what the commercial drink used. It would have been 0.4ppm instead of 0.1ppm, still only 4% of the allowable concentration. I have no idea how much latex is in this preparation method, but it is likely still far higher than commercial regulations permit. If I say that my drink was at least 40ppm, that would be at least 100x the amount of latex as in commercial products. But, it could have been even higher. If you don't even try to remove the latex, it will be up to 10,000ppm of latex in the gel.
Thank you,. I followed your directions precisely. My first time for aloe leaf. I had no idea about the aloe leaf. You are a precious woman helping everyone out to keep us safe!
Hello, I just brought 4 aloe vera leaf to start a hair journey and needed to know how to store it not knowing how to clean it and so glad to have watched your video on how to clean and store it and want to thank you so much for this information. I going to do clean all of it to remove the latex and store in the freezer in freezer bags for future use. I really enjoyed your video, keep up the good work!!
Very glad that you found the method is useful to you. To avoid the latex and store in the freezer to save time are exactly what I wanted to offer and share
i guess im asking randomly but does anyone know a method to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow forgot the password. I would love any help you can offer me
@Calvin Nathaniel thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and im trying it out atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Thank you, for the care you took to explain how to clean and use Aloe. Thank you for caring enough to warn us of the dangers of over use; and the care to letting us know how to store it for future use.
When I was visiting health spa in Mexico , they were blending aloe and pineapple or whatever you would like. He was removing jelly part with a spoon, no soaking. I have a Vietnamese here in CA and her mom who is over 80 looks like 50 and she eats aloe every day, no soaking. Does not argue about the yellow glue to be removed but it sounds like all the good vitamins , nutrition and enzymes are going to be gone after you cutting any fruit or vegetables/ within a few minutes/, that is why every cleansing spa recommend to cut everything just before you are ready to eat.......
Thank all comments from the reviewers. Please note that the yellow juice contains anthraquinone barbaloin. This is a strong laxative agent and can cause serious health complications if used too often. The white gel is the safest part of the aloe to take.
I love your voice too. You do have a thick accent, but I understood every word. It is very soothing to listen to you even if I really have no intention of eating an aloe leaf. I have a plant that has, for some reason, some leaves that fell off in the last day or so. I was wondering what I should do with them since I don't have a burn but didn't want to waste them. They are nowhere near as big as yours though!
Thank you so much for this video ♥️I learned today for the first time about the yellow latex in aloe and wanted to find if it was possible to remove it. And I also thank you for sharing how to store it after cleaning because I rush to use my aloe and sometimes it goes bad before I use it all.
Placing the aloe pieces in a single layer on a flat tray in the freezer first. When frozen add pieces to a freeze bag. Thank you for sharing your families knowledge.
Thank you for this! I did not know you could freeze fresh also. I never soak like this though, as I want to retain the watery slime as much as possible, I think too much soaking will wash away the benefits :) but yes, the yellow sap causes some itching so I am careful to remove it. I just cut off the white end and let the yellow sap drain for 10 minutes or so, then wash the leaf again before processing. My method is similar, just no submerging in water. But I use mine mostly for hair and skin, not eating, so maybe it's better to be more thorough for consumption.

I don't want to use Aloe Vera for eating but just for skin treatment. I've used straight aloe juice from leaf on my facial skin overnight for a week and folks commented how great my skin looked after a week. I'd wash it off the next morning each day btw. A chemist told me this was probably because the aloe exfoliates the skin. Any I didn't know anything about how to prepare the plant, I just stored it in the fridge and used it as I needed it every night as I wrote for my skin only.
Thanks for uploading this informative video. I'll be cutting my aloe vera up and soaking it just like you did. Throughout the video, I wondered to myself, "where is her accent from"; so I looked through the comments to see if anyone else wondered it and asked. Not that I could see, so I'm asking respectful, of course?
Thank you! I've used fresh aloe many times, but I never rinsed it as shown in the video. I just cut the large leaf in two and put the cut ends in water to let it "bleed" and then separated the center from the skin and blended the gel with water. I thought all of the gelatinous stuff was good, but never realized it could be tainted with "poison." I will try processing it using this method.
Thank you so much ❤️👌🏻👍🏻 I got it at the food store and my leaf is probably about same size as yours. I did not know any of that so I am glad I watched this video I thought I could eat as much as I wanted & I did not know I had to clean it either... I'm glad I saw this video... I would have ended up in the hospital probably. Thank you 💗
Aloe-vera does not contain any type of poison at all, actually, contrary to what she said, the yellow liquid dripping from the aloe,is good to eat, because the bitter taste entering your blood stream, makes anything within you that does not belong there come out, because they do not like the taste of it.My garden is filled with aloe plants,an I live in the Caribbean, born, born, raised and still lives here.
Totally agree. Growing up in Caribbean, I was told its the best part... Highly concentrated. Its good for cleansing and detox. Haven't heard of any incident concerning poisoning.

Thank you so much for showing how to use and store aloe vera. I just need to confirm please - first soak 20 minutes, another soak for 20 minutes. Then the white gel is soaked for how many minutes? Or is it just washed in the water? Thank you!!
Thank you so much for years when ever I used natural Aloe and it touches my skin I get Large allergy pimples and when I buy in the bottle it does nothing . Now I know why , because this yellow stuff can cause serious allergy which it did with me .
Thank you, I enjoyed the video, very informative, but yet I will see other videos saying you can put the entire leaf in the blender with juice and drink it,that sounds like it would be too strong on your system.

This is exactly that our method is different from most aloe processing methods, more scientific and careful. Every one’s body reacts food different and also quite often negative effects are gradually accumulated
I personally say no do not you could get sick. When the aloe vera plant turns red it means it's rotting so if it's leaking red it probably means the same thing. This puzzled me too I even googled it and found nothing answer. Sorry I wasn't here 2 weeks ago but I'm still happy to help
It's only harmful if you do large doses for a prolonged period of time. People swear like if you eat a little latex your going to die. Just eat the inside from now on.
I found your video informative, but I do have a question: For time efficiency purposes, would it still remove the latex if I filet all the skin the first time around and just let the gel soak for an 1hr., rinse, and then store? I grow my own aloe, but it's the softer, white spotted type, and this is the first time I will using it for eating. I've mostly used it for cuts and burns.
It's aloe Barbadensis Miller, the only aloe vera kind that we can eat. After the plant becomes 3 years old it's ready for eating. A bite a day is good enough and after a month we take a little break from eating it.
I was born and grown in the islands and we have tons of aloe plants. We cut peel and eat and no one was ever been poisoned or ill we use it for constipation, issues and no problem either The (yellow juice) will get rid of the worst eye infection you could ever have so I don’t know. We also use the gel in our water jugs to drink daily as well as in the water for our animals so again 🤷🏽♀️
Water not white because the leaf is green leaves a yellow tint yes cut off the end and get the yellow part but I think wash it well after and before then but the green part then should be ok I think
I just applied fresh aloe all over my self without washing or cleaning it at all and now my face is burning what should I do? I wish I saw this video 2 hours ago :(
It makes no sense to cut it and soak it with the skin on and then cut the skin off and then soak again. Would it not make more sense to skin the aloe and soak it free of the skin?
If you're just planning to mash up the flesh for its gel, to use for cuts and burns, is this process needed? I kinda' feel like the health issues you listed wouldn't be a problem if the gel's to be used for external use only...
DaZebraffe agree with you, if just for cuts and burns, the cleaning process is not nectar needed. I use it for burns sometimes. Thanks for you comments
I soak 5 minutes after I cut the thorns and blend everything included the skin , the best is you mixed with sugarcane it is refreshing after I watch one video that he added sugarcane to aloe Vera
I love how she also warns us not to over consume it, I thought I could eat a whole plate but no, she warned me not to so I won't. Thank you kind lady!

Hello, can you tell me how long you keep your aloe in the freezer? Thank you for the wonderful information!
Thank you for this I never knew …
Thank you so much for the information.
thankyou so much! you seriously saved me!😄❤️
why you don't just take the aloe out and wash it with water once instead
I heard that the whole plant is edible. Does it depend on the type? I’ve never heard of aloe having poison.
So, I've been blending the aloe vera plant; the gel and the leaf cover and drinking it. I hope it doesn't make me sick. Oh my.
I have been doing the same thing! I am so thankful for this video!
In future please use the white part for blending, we are doing this wat
It's only harmful if you do large doses for a prolonged period of time. People swear like if you eat a little latex your going to die.
Just eat the inside from now on.
Wow thanks I swallow the yellow part an I went to the toilet for two days
To use it on my face, do I have to do the same process pls??
Thank you for explaining!
Can u do more videos we like to learn more please thanks
are all aloe vera can be eaten?
if there are many variety of it
are all can be eaten,
or there are some can only be eaten?
I found your video informative, but I do have a question: For time efficiency purposes, would it still remove the latex if I filet all the skin the first time around and just let the gel soak for an 1hr., rinse, and then store? I grow my own aloe, but it's the softer, white spotted type, and this is the first time I will using it for eating. I've mostly used it for cuts and burns.
If you only them only for burns and cuts, I think it should be all right.
The best explanation
That’s a nice video. I also made a video about how to prepare aloe vera. I love eating the gel!
I forgot to clean mine
THERE'S NOTHING POISONOUS ABOUT THE SLIME; MATTER OF FACT, IT CAN BE EDIBLE.
They’re talking about The yellow part
Not The “slime” (what is known as gel)
@@qonitabadegestm O.k.; my mistake. Thanks for the clarification.
Your adorable! Thank you for the information God Bless
that so informative thanks for sharing
Thank you for this information ma’am.
Omg the leaf is massive, how old is it? What type of Aloe is it?
It's aloe Barbadensis Miller, the only aloe vera kind that we can eat. After the plant becomes 3 years old it's ready for eating. A bite a day is good enough and after a month we take a little break from eating it.
Μαρία Δήμογλου what happens if we eat another variety because I grow one and I’m not sure if it is this type and would really like to try it
i always eat the skin and the yellow part for 40 years i think the skin is strong it helps your liver
Hi I use it in smoothies I freeze in ice cube is 3 ice cubes 1 ice cube every other day too much I use it 3 times a week 1 ice cube Thank you
Very nice. Well done!
taliah azeez thank you, glad you found it helps
Amazing video thanks you so much aunty 🤗
I was born and grown in the islands and we have tons of aloe plants. We cut peel and eat and no one was ever been poisoned or ill we use it for constipation, issues and no problem either The (yellow juice) will get rid of the worst eye infection you could ever have so I don’t know. We also use the gel in our water jugs to drink daily as well as in the water for our animals so again 🤷🏽♀️
Water not white because the leaf is green leaves a yellow tint yes cut off the end and get the yellow part but I think wash it well after and before then but the green part then should be ok I think
Love her voice💞💞💞
Thank you
I just applied fresh aloe all over my self without washing or cleaning it at all and now my face is burning what should I do? I wish I saw this video 2 hours ago :(
allison florolk how are you doing there? If your face feel burning, you may put too much
It's probably the poison
Do you have to soak it?
Greatly appreciated!
Thank you for this video !
Do you put the skin pieces in the freezer too? Also what is mooshie?
Yes, I did put the skin pieces in the freezer. I used it for my skin only, NOT for eating
Smoothie 🤣
Hello I wanted to ask a question how often to use the aloe on ur face ??
It makes no sense to cut it and soak it with the skin on and then cut the skin off and then soak again. Would it not make more sense to skin the aloe and soak it free of the skin?
@@aaronkirsten8079 Maybe it helps lessen the sap so its cleaner when filleting...
I peel the skin off and soak the gel in water for 5 min. Then I mix it with my smoothie.
😳. I didn’t know I had to clean it. Smh. Whoa.
Very important to clean and get the yellow juice out.
Thanks for sharing your experience
Living HolisticLife you are welcome
U mean you drink.it all after blending, including the skim? No side effects on u?
Jun Herrera what you meant by side effects , I drink it nothing happened cos I already soak in water 5 minutes and rinse away that ir
