    Great info based upon lots of first-hand experience. NSP Primers are breakthrough, cutting edge, (no pun intended), abrasive technology. Also - anyone considering machine sanding glass to remove and level out deep scratches - contact me first. It's not for the faint-of-heart.

    This is an outstanding video and actually changed my mind about using a panel prep (as HIGHLY recommended by the GTECHNIQ rep) or the Dr Beasley's NSP 45. I know YOU said not to take another detailer's opinion to heart (even if you REALLY like them), but in your case, since you seem to be one of the few who actually makes me THINK and the way you freely give straight-forward, HONEST information, I've chosen to skip he wipe and reach for the Dr.

    I always wondered if you could the NSP polish as the final step of a 2 step correction when a non primer polish compound was used.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hi. Yup. When we do a correction we will use whatever compounds we need to use to cut the swirls and then use the NSP 45 to polish and prime.

  • @MyGuyKirby
    @MyGuyKirby 8 месяцев назад +3

    Key is that enhancement fits within the owner's daily use and conditions. The NSP is shorthand for "Nano Surface Primer" which is why these products are designed for the coating application, any brand. Surface is primed to help the bonding process and using a panel prep with them is NOT recommended (Phil understands this concept well).

    Phil - you don't agree with Ivan who says that water spots should not be directly polished off? That you should use a water spot remover FIRST, because when you "polish" the minerals, you are "grinding" them down into the clearcoat & they will return? That some of the minerals must be removed BEFORE the polishing step? Or did you do that before & just did not show that step, for brevity? BTW, I love the NSP line - I have the Z1 & have used it on a few occasions. Thanks much for educating the uninitiated on this product!!

    I am a novice I plan to use NSP 45, I have a couple of questions? 1. Should I use 4 or 2 drops to prime my pad? 2. What speeds should I use when polishing. Any additional advice would be appreciated.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  4 месяца назад +1

      Hi. I share a lot more tips in this video also
      ruclips.net/video/qLd-0QajCn8/видео.htmlsi=lohG-YrsNx9QOEnq
      You only need 1-2 pea sized drops to prime then one pea size drop for each polishing section You can really stretch it out. Usually I can do half a hood. Speed really depends on if you trying to really remove defects of not. Paired with an orange medium cut pad it relive about 50% of the swirls on most paints at speed 5-6. For just regular polishing speed 4-5 is fine.

    Great video. I wish there was a detailed explanation as to how this bond enhancement works. It makes no sense from a pure physics standpoint as if you’re trying to bind to sites on the clear, it doesn’t make sense to put some other less durable agent in between. I’ve seen Chris’ explanation and it was basically just “nano magic”. I believe it works but I’d love to know the actual why.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  8 месяцев назад +3

      So the are many other bonding applications that use the same technology. Plumbers use a cleaning agent (purple stuff) before they use a PVC glue to bond the pipes together. That rule stuff seems like it would hinder the pvc from bonding with the glue. But its acts as a primer. Same goes with flux and copper piping when soldering.
      Or primer paint before the top layer of paint. There are so many other “primers” in every industry, Detailers have just been indoctrinated with the idea that we don’t use need or use them.

    • @chrisbradley3224
      @chrisbradley3224 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@MirandaDetailing I don’t think primer and flux are good comparisons. Flux especially is just for cleaning the material and removing oxides and sulfides. Primer is conceptually similar but it’s not working the same way as a paint primer. Primer is more about the surface porosity, sealing, and roughness in paint. It’s also durable in terms of bond by itself which isn’t the case with these polish residues. I think a better explanation from the chemists would be nice. I believe it works, but it begs the question why isn’t every coating manufacturer putting out a wipe-on primer if the bond is so much better.

    I'm assuming that the hydrophilic nature of the polish is what assists the ceramic coating in bonding?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  8 месяцев назад +2

      Perhaps. It very interesting. Priming is a part of many industries. But just recently it’s coming into the detailing industry. Really it should be the future of coatings and paint prepping. It’s way better than just a panel wipe for so many reasons.

    • @theunkownmr.562

    I find it interesting you find combining NSP 45 and 150 works better for you than going to NSP 95. Or at least I assume you feel like it does because 95 wasn't mentioned. Do you use NSP 95 at all or do you find having 45 and 150, or a comibination of the two more useful?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  5 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah I have found the wipe off of 95 to be a little stickier than 45 and 150 combined. Sometimes I just add a drop of 150 on a section that needs a little more cut and it works perfectly.

  • @btbd2785
    @btbd2785 8 месяцев назад +1

    So if you are doing a full paint correction. do you prefer to use a differnt compound and or polish and then use 45 as the final step before coating? Or do you think there 150, 95 , 45 to do a full paint correction is the most effective or best way to go. what do you feel is a better way or found the most effective way of performing kets say a 2 or 3 step correction. whats your preference?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hi. Great questions. So if doing a full correction I would just use a regular compound for the cutting stages first and then use the NSP45 to polish/finish. I only use NSP150 for spot correction on paint enhancement services.

Never had that happen on the Mercedes since it was made in 2005. Hi. Thanks. I wouldn’t use the pad washer with the NSP polishes because it makes the pad too wet. The pad doesn’t become over saturated with product since so little is used, so just use air to blow it out when needed.

      For best performance coating sooner is better, but there is no need to break out your stopwatch.

      Wierd. I have never had a problem with the timing. In fact, we usualy polish then break for liunch and come back after an hour and then coat the vehicle. So even after an hour or so it works perfectly.

    Can TW Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Polish do the same thing for coatings? Someone said yes but I’d have to wait a day?? Phil what’s your thoughts. By the way I’m going to order some NSP but I’m trying to finish this Hybrid Solutions bottle first

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  4 месяца назад +1

      Hi. Since it’s not advertised for formulated for ceramic coatings I wouldn’t use it that way. The NSP primers were formulated to use with true coatings.

    Hey Phil, thank you very much for this very informative video! But it still leaves me with one question: Is there any "curing time" for the NSP polishes before I can start coating the vehicle or is there a maximum limit (time window) I have to apply the coating? For example: I finish polishing today, can I coat the car tomorrow or 2 days later?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  4 месяца назад +2

      Hi. You can coat the vehicle right away after polishing. However I wouldn’t leave the car untouched for a few days after polishing only because dust will settle on the vehicle and you have to wipe it down again. You could blow it with compressed air or a blower but that just stirs dust up again. Best practice is to polish and coat right away in the same day.

    Another great and informative video Phil. I do have a question. Is that the SPTA polisher you’re using? I have been looking at cordless polishers and I have watched your videos on them. Would you still recommend the SPTA for someone who is wanting to learn paint correction? Or is the Milwaukee m15 a better option? Thanks for all the work you put into your content. Your attention to detail is greatly appreciated by us starting out.

      Hi. Thanks. I have my used the Milwaukee so I can’t speak for that. But we have been using the spta cordless polishers for years now and still love them. They are perfect for beginners.

    NSP GL is the workhorse product for any glass surface to do exactly as you mentioned. Used with the rayon pads it is safe to reduce some scratches but will take time. Having a few cerium oxide products this one is just a tad stouter, a must have in my product options even with the high cost.

    Hi Phil, your video pulled all the information together from other videos I’ve watched on this product and covered all the bases on its use and options available in unique situations, ie, tough water spots. I have been waiting for this to drop since midweek, it was so worth it! Now, I’m just biding my time for a slow day at work so I can bring in my car, prep it up and get it coated!

    Has Dr. Beasley ever delineated how much of the “correction” is through polishing action vs filling by the primer?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  8 месяцев назад +3

      Hi. It doesn’t fill. It actually corrects paint. I have tested it.

    You say to blow out your pad. Unfortunately I don't have air , but I do have a pad washer. Can I use that instead?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hi. I won’t use the pad washer with these polishes. It makes the pad too damp and the NSP polishes don’t work well with damp pads. But you could use a small brush to clean the pad out while running it.

    I have a 2018 Lexus GX 460 with Black paint that I want to do a paint correction on. This will be my first paint correction. I have a DeWalt DA cordless polisher. Would you recommend the NSP polishes for me to use and what pads recommend please?

    • @MirandaDetailing

      Hi. Are you going to coat it after? If so I would definitely use the NSP45 to finish with. But you can do your cutting stage with any compound you want. NSP45 polishes/finishes really well.

    Also, it looks like you're doing some jeweling to the paint and thus preserving a ton of cleacoat.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  8 месяцев назад +3

      Exactly. This concept of priming the surface before a coating is fairly new in the detailing industry. At least for coatings. However detailers have been doing it for a long time without knowing it.
      In the past many detailers used to use “glazes” that would add gloss and promote a wax or sealant to bond better. True it was mostly on single stage, but many continued the practice on clear coat and got great results. But “detailing zealots” can’t let the panel wipe go yet, they need to educate themselves on primers and what they are actually doing to the surface of the paint. I did a lot of research and experiments to see the results of these primer polishes. Very interesting.
      Some guys still don’t understand the concept of a primer, they need more understanding. Plus some overthink to the point of “mental obsession” or “over-analysis paralysis” it leads them to a mental block…which can lead to lashing out at those who do understand.

    • @theunkownmr.562
      @theunkownmr.562 8 месяцев назад +1

      @MirandaDetailing digesting what you said, it gets me thinking along the lines of how a car is painted. You'd think that shooting paint straight onto bare metal would get you the best adhesion, but in fact, it's not. You primer the bare metal first and then paint over it to get a better bond.
      So I definitely understand what you're saying. We just need others to change their mindset by experiencing this first hand. Seeing and doing is believing.
