I can't believe I've never heard of this guy...feel like I've just unearthed a true musical genius...this song...spine chilling.
Exactly!

It's amazing when you discover a great song years after its released. Makes you realise music is timeless
I was in a supermarket in Manchester, yesterday. And I heard this playing, searched for it and it’s years old. I agree, it’s great unearthing a gem that’s an old song. 👍🏻👍🏻
Can concur, 2024

This song changed my life. Helped me get in touch with the lost little boy that lives inside and start to heal him.
Seriously? Like literally it changed your life?
What a beautiful song. The way he weaved his own words into the poem is amazing.
I heard this while sitting on the beach on Kuramathi island, Maldives...takes me back to that special place. Songs like this are few and far between, timeless. Much appreciation from South Africa
I don't know why but this song has been helping me with a love that wasn't meant to be. Like helping to get out all the pain, and be free.
Known this song since it came out. It was my childhood. Thank you for making this incredible song nick
In my opinion, the song is about him hearing a woman playing the piano and reminding him of the loss of his mother. He is imagining the little boy being there who is actually him watching her play.
Such an amazing heart wrenching song, but yet somehow uplifting :)
Was on a boat Sydney Vivid festival and this song played. Cruising on the water it was perfect! Thank you for playing this Sydney 2022
A beautiful example of music and lyrics by Nick that lift you, and videography by James Morgan that does the same, and combine them together, it just amplifies the whole emotional impact! Beautiful. Nick and James, if this is what you create together I’d love to see more!
This has been playing for 48 hours straight now. WHY CAN'T I GET TIRED OF THIS?!
Nicks beautiful album helped me through a very difficult period late '14. At the end of each day he took me away to a place somewhere else.......
So glad that i found this song again,i used to walk in The morning listening to this...,this song give such good fellings
this song strikes a chord in my heart and I can't even explain why
What a timeless song. Still as good as when i first heard on release. Might even be better!
saw Nick perform this almost 2 years ago supporting Ben Howard back in 2013 and I'm still obsessed! So good.
I loved it when the radio played this song years ago it reminds me of when I usto be a painter and decorator singing this in an echoing empty room. Banging the lader to the beat.. Takes me back.
Man, I wish I worked with people like you. All I get is jackfm and whatever dr dre or snizzy dizzy stuff. So the earbuds gotta go in..
HIS TALENT GOT ME HERE!
His voice and the guitar are just so soothing.... beautiful!! Thanks Nick xx
NICK MULVEY BROUGHT ME HERE.
I heard Nick Mulvey live before hearing any of his recorded work, at Mosely Folk Festival in 2018. I was utterly mesmerised, such beauty in the lyrics and music. Saw him again playing in a tiny teepee at Glastonbury last year too at midnight, just magic.
Just discovered Nick. Where have I been? Listening to this watching my kids swimming lesson crying my eyes out ❤️
Rarely does one fall upon such a magical tune.
I shazammed this song while i was roadtripping around Croatia and i dont regret it ... Thanks "Radio Dalmatia" !
Heard this song on radio 1 a while back and been searching for it for ages! So glad I've found it :)
Discovering Nick Mulvey is one of the best things that has resulted from COVID-19 for me.
why isn't music like this no.1 on charts
Because most people don't understand it...
Because of something called "mind control"
Your mind won't accept a game this big.
Because it sucks
@extra-terra-strial Who are you to say what's good and what's not? I'm entitled to my opinion and you're entitled to yours. And in my opinion this song sucks.
Love 'Cucurucu' and 'Fever To The Form'. Great songs.
This is and will always be one of my favourite songs
I love D.H Lawrence's poem Piano. In fact My dad used to read it to me when I was little, when I found this song it has brought back nothing but good memorys thank you. x

Acabo de descubrir a este pedazo de artista! No sólo esta canción sino muchas otras me encantan! Son muy buenas!
I got married dancing to this song… thank you nick, you changed my life
Beautiful song, I really thought it was from a Mexican singer, the cucurrucu paloma song is very famous and many mothers sings to their child the melody, all in this song took me to those days and to the present, I felt like it was written for me (I know how selfish!) Is very beautiful to read the comments and see how many people connected to the song in different ways and very sad that great songs don't get the recognition they deserve.
Ace vibes as ever! Nick Mulvey brought me here coz he's the bees knees.
This song gives me life...
beautiful song and video of freedom and carefreeness we shall always be feeling and living. Wonderfull. Thank you
This was the first song of Nick Mulvey's music I heard and absolutely fell in love with it and all of the rest of his music

I'm about to be a father and all of these nursery songs are helping me get used to it! Big up nm
was obsessed w this song when it first came out, still come back to it
I just blew my own mind today 😆 i was literally talking about this song yesterday to a co worker. They used to play this song at my work a lot since it was one of my old bosses favourites. Then they updated the sound system at work and we can no longer make playlists so I've been plauged by the same songs every day for about a year now with the occasional new release thrown in there. But anyway i was just reading somewhere that your favourite genre of music reflects what your personality is, which is a bit of a trouble for me since I'm quite passionate about almost all genres. So do i have every personality? 😆 Anyway i decided to Google what Portico Quartets genre might be since i find that they do not have a single bad song, therefore they are my favourite band. And as i googled it listed the members, and i saw Nick's name and was like, wait a minute..... I know this one. And obviously i find this song absolutely brilliant. So to find out nick used to be a member of my favourite band. 😌😌 Very pleased right now.
😉👍
It took more than a year to find this song.. i used to listen to this back 6-7 years ago and i couldn't find it at all.. i found it today n i m screenshotting it for future..damn i love the melody
I'm putting this song in my will for my funeral. been listening for ages n never let's me down about thinking about life
The other day i partook of many many shrooms, and of the all songs that hit my mangled mind. This has stuck with me the most. What a lovely song. A big thank you from me to you Mr. Mulvey. Thank you for the songs that accompany us on the madness that is life.
Still sounds as good as the first listen, 7 years ago...So much water under the bridge since then.
Awesome, I can't believe this. This place is my birthplace in Sumba Island, Indonesia. Good Jod and Keep AWESOME, Nick Mulvey, and James Morgan.
my wife started laughing at me when i started singing this song one day on a long quiet drive up country. she asked, " what is CU CU RU CU?" i answered, " I have no idea, the wind blew against the car's loose side mirror and made this same sound. i immediately remembered this song,. i had forgotten just how much i love it"
The sound of the rooster.
its the cry of a dove in an old Mexican ranchero song
ruclips.net/video/DHW-q8oD3gE/видео.html
In Latin America it represents the sound of a dove. We have a Spanish song calles cucurrucucú.
It is a slang for "insane" in Bulgarian. The video is awesome. We need a bit of cucuruku to keep sane ❤
Cucurucu is the Columbia word for car mirror
My dad died a month ago and this song reminded him of me and him
I hope that the last 8 months and the months to come are getting more tolerable. You are the best and worst parts of your dad. So do your best with them. One love! Stay strong, and keep on going. Every day is a gift.
@@JamesStorey09 Thank You!!!❤️
It has something so unique thats why i love it
Beatiful song. Much respect God bless nick
Softly, in the evening dusk, a woman is singing to me
She takes me back down the vista of my years, until I see
I see a child underneath the piano, in the boom of the tingling strings
Pressing the poised feet of his mother who smiles at him as she sings
Cucurucu, cucurucu
Softly now in the evening dusk, a woman is singing to me
She takes me back down the vista of my years, until I see
A boy, a child underneath the piano, in the boom of the tingling strings
Pressing the poised feet of his mother who smiles at him as she sings
Yearning to belong, yearning to belong
My heart beats with a ceaseless longing of a yearning to belong
In spite of myself, and all of these nursery songs
My heart beats with a ceaseless longing of a yearning to belong
Till the melodies of childish days, are upon, upon me
And they take me back, back down the river
They keep leading me on, they lead me to the sea
And all of my manhood is cast
Down in the flood of remembrance, and I weep like a child for the past
Singing cucurucu, cucurucu
Singing cucurucu, cucurucu
I see a child underneath the piano, in the boom of the tingling strings
Pressing the poised feet of his mother who smiles at him as she sings
Listen to me son, I'll tell you why your father's strong
'Cause he can still say every single day, he's yearning to belong
Yearning to belong, yearning to belong
My heart beats with a ceaseless longing of a yearning to belong
In spite of myself, and all of these nursery songs
My heart beats with a ceaseless, meets with a peaceless burning to belong
Singing cucurucu, cucurucu
Singing cucurucu
Singing cucurucu, cucurucu, cucurucu

Hopebgood piasecki
This song will be huge in a couple of months
This is the must beautiful video i ever see in my life!!!!!!!!
My English Teacher showed this song, because we are studying the poem 'Piano'. I'm so glad I've seen this!
Most of the lyrics from this song comes from a poem called "Piano" by D.H. Lawrence written in 1918. I was reading it to my friend, for my poetry class, and he recognized the lyrics, and linked me here. This is awesome!
Nice insight.
BBC Radio 1 bought me here, love this! :)
A thumb-up from Casablanca (Morocco)
Amazing Talents.. musical and film. mwah bravo!
Cant get this out my head
Beautiful song..beautiful voice!

Great uplifting song Nick. Here & Now....
Same
Absolute lushness this melody and lyrics . Love it thank you 🙏
This song is based on the poem 'Piano' by D H Lawrence - the first verse is almost word-for-word the same as the first stanza. Amazing lyrics and great adaptation to music
Thank you for mentioning this! I had no idea. It seems Mr. Mulvey has a habit of borrowing poetry. His song "Meet Me There" is based on and borrows from the Coleman Barks interpretation of a Rumi poem. There are more accurate translations of the poem, but Barks' version is one of the more popular ones, perhaps because it's prettier and more easily digestible. However, Coleman Barks does not even speak Persian, which is the poem's language of origin.
I learned all of this because I was so captivated by the lyrics of "Meet Me There" that I went on a bit of an internet deep dive. Now, as beautiful as the song is, I have mixed feelings about it.
Edit: By the way, this song (Cucurucu) additionally references a seemingly popular old Mexican song called "Cucurrucucú Paloma." I suggest giving that a look-up, as well.
my past sent me here 😌 omg this song always can send me to a better place if i dont like the one that im current in
Fantastic!!!
I just realised that I heard you as an opening act for Elbow! I've had this song in my favourites for ages but I never realised! Gosh...Everyone was loving you and Googling you on their phones.
