    Love to see this rig tour, and it's awesome to see how you're using the Nord and Sunday Keys App side by side. Bonus points for the clean setup 👍

      This video just taught me about the existence of Sunday Sounds, and as someone who’s currently fighting with a Yamaha MO to get it working well for us on stage, I’m VERY EXCITED!! Thanks to all parties involved, wish me luck! :D

    I have a similar setup that I use at my church with 2 keyboards. The first is an older Roland Fantom G7 that was our primary for years (and still has solid sounds onboard). The second is a virtual tone wheel organ (Roland VK8) allowing me to dial in that old Hammond sound of rock and gospel organs of the past. We have a full 9' grand that we use for our piano, and I play the support keys role in our services. The centerpiece of the setup I use is Gig Performer 4 running on a Windows 11 Laptop. I use multiple VST plug ins (that I also use for creating multi-tracks for our youth band) for piano, EPs. pads, synths, strings, solo instruments, etc. What's nice about the setup I have is that I can also connect to a different interface and use a travel rig that uses a Nektar LX88+ controller. All the sound operator needs to give me is a stereo pair of inputs. Everything is mixed internally by Gig Performer and controlled either through MIDI CC messages or MIDI Program Changes.
    To any church keyboardist, I highly recommend a setup like this. I was a nay-sayer for years until I went this way. Now I love the high level or portability using an iPad or Laptop can offer (well, maybe not the gutted piano shell). The total cost of my travel rig (minus the laptop) was just under $1,000 with the software, VSTs, and the controller.

      I have mainstage and gig performer 4 I wish gig performer had a playback like mainstage for drone pads that you can adjust the fade out time. With the audio player on gig performer when it stops there is no way for a smooth fade out.

    Try keeping the strings on the piano and add 2 good speakers and route your piano patch to the speakers and add 2 built in mics that way you can get real acoustic string resonance while playing a digital patch. Kind of what Yamaha did. Let me know if u want me to help you design the routing. I’ll be more than happy to help

    You should definitely check out the Peavey USB-P for outputs like this. Direct to XLR, nothing else to mess with :) If you do keep the Presonus - those outputs are balanced TRS, so you dont need a DI at all - just a TRS to XLR cable. Also - if you're running broadcast from your campus you absolutely have to run all your keys in stereo! makes a HUGE difference in the width in the mix. Hopefull you have a Wing to take advantage of that...

    I would like to know the importance of the PRO DI box on this setup. With or without, does it make any difference specially when having an audio interface in a rig? Thank you

    • @WorshipLeaderHangout
      @WorshipLeaderHangout  9 месяцев назад

      I use the DI because I need that particular channel available for my other keyboard I play sometimes out at the front of the stage. Otherwise I would just run directly out the back of the interface.

    • @WorshipLeaderHangout
      @WorshipLeaderHangout  11 месяцев назад +1

      I’m super sensitive to latency and I do feel an extremely small amount using the ipad when compared directly to the Nord but not enough to hinder my playing in any way. I tested the setup before I did the install for this reason alone. I approve haha

    • @s80keys
      @s80keys 11 месяцев назад

      It really depends on your musical style and personal preferences. SK has a free trial so I highly recommend that you take advantage of that and try it out for yourself since it's so subjective. You might find that you love the piano sounds. Or if you don't then you haven't lost anything.
      The SK app is great, and I've been using it every week since it was released. Unfortunately, I really don't care for the piano sounds (sorry, guys). To me it just sounds overwhelmingly digital and that's just not the sound I'm after. If you're playing solo piano without any special effects then you might be a little disappointed. But if you're mixing it with pads and playing along with a band then I think you would probably be ok with the piano sounds once it all comes together. Just depends on your use case. Definitely give the trial a go and see for yourself.

      @@s80keys I do own Sunday Keys for a year now, I just wanted find out on other peoples opinions on the Piano Samples. I just feel it’s too sharp to the ear and Has no body, and this is why I go back to the mainstage template so I am able to use Native Instruments Pianos. But really do want to use the Sunday Keys app because the features are so good but its just the piano for me that’s putting me off.

    Heya! I play de Nord line a while now but want to expand with a Midi keyboard. But in my research I have read that when you link the Nord Stage 3 to a midi keyboard the felocity of the piano, on the midi controller, isn't that great. Do you have any experience with it? Some say the problem can be solved by the 2.60 update of the Nord but can't find any conclusion. Hope to hear from you, and thanks for the video!

    • @WorshipLeaderHangout
      @WorshipLeaderHangout  11 месяцев назад

      I heard this as well but from my experience it feels and sounds great. I did already have the latest firmware so I never had any of the major issues people talked about before. If anything it’s a bit too sensitive and takes slightly more pressure to play as loud as just using the Nord Key bed but is not at all an issue for us.
