I absolutely love looking at the personal collection of others and really enjoyed Pop goes the 60s 60s and 70s episode. I'm so happy you have done this video and would like to see more of this if possible.
Surprised you didn’t do the iconic cover of John’s Rock and Roll album cover. The door way is still there in a very atmospheric little alleyway in Hamburg. You can still pick out the damaged brickwork so there is no doubt it’s the same door. It is a real goosebump and tear jerker moment to stand there. I posted a photo of me in the doorway on Instagram and got a like from Sean!
Wow, how on earth would Sean have access to your instagram? I’d love to see that door. I always wanted to lay against the tree in the grounds of Tittenhurst Park where they had their Plastic Ono Band lp covers taken.
'Abbey Road' album cover is the greatest of ANY album of any decade. Its just perfect, even down to their step synchronicity, the space between each Beatle, the clothes each Beatle chose to wear that day, not to mention the glorious burst of summer colours. I LOVE that they chose not to mention BEATLES, just the 4 super talented young men, who everyone worldwide didn't need any reminding of who they were😍
I went to Belfast in April last year. First thing I wanted to see was Giants Causeway. So me and my mum went on a four hour bus tour just so I could walk on that monument. 😂😂
Some of my favourite London album covers come from two consecutive Carly Simon albums, 'Anticipation' and 'No Secrets'. The former was shot at the gates of Queen Mary's Rose Garden in Regent's Park, whilst the latter was shot at the Portobello Hotel in Notting Hill.
The iconic black and white “With the Beatles” album cover photo was taken in a corridor in the Palace Court Hotel in Westover Road down here in Bournemouth. The hotel is still standing is now a Premier Inn.
When I lived in North Ascot in the mid-seventies, we were so close to all these rock star places. I could cycle up to the gates of Tittenhurst, and over to Friar Park. I saw George in 1979 in his powder blue Rolls Royce, with his King Charles perm! Closer to home was Winkfield and Old Windsor, where Rod Stewart and Elton John lived and were neighbours to each other. Elton still lives there and his house was once where Henry VIII's doctor lived - close enough to Windsor Castle if he was ever needed! That long stretch of road in Windsor Park is called The Long Mile, it starts close to Elton's house, and ends at the castle, but is closed to traffic.
I went up the Battersea chimney December before last and through the museum exhibit beforehand. Great view London and cheaper than the Eye. I asked the tour guide girl if any of the Pink Floyd guys have paid a visit. She said not that she's aware. Cool place though. My Airbnb was about a mile away so I was there everyday of my trip and disembarked from the Battersea tube station to wherever I was headed that day.
In line with your recent discovery of a classic record from years ago - Unhalfbricking - what if you periodically reviewed an old album you somehow missed from years ago?
Of course, William Hartnell and the Daleks were quite active in the Wings London Town location back in the mid 60s. The Davison Dalek story was also part filmed their. If you haven't read Doctor Who on Location by Richard Bignell then I highly recommend it. Very interesting video. T.Rex The Slider cover also shot at Tittenhurst but when Ringo lived their in 1972.
I miss lovely artwork like this. If vinyl reliably came with a link to a digital download, I'd buy the vinyl just for the cover. BTW The "Rubber Soul" logo was designed by the father of BAFTA-winning actress Rebecca Front, Charles Front.
There is a book that I have somewhere about famous places of rock history in England and Great Britain..If I ever get over there I will have to take it with me..Bron -Yaur and the Pooh house owned by Brian Jones are definitely on that list as well as Battersea power station..
John, have you reviewed 'Now & Then'? I read recently Paul and Ringo have been presented with the newly Remixed/Remastered 'Free As Bird/Real Love' using Peter Jackson's AI Tools and Loved them, Jon, do you still consider those three tracks not true 'Beatles Recordings'?...

Very interesting information and memories of the locations of these album covers. Thanks for sharing John.
A single Man. I love "Big Dipper".

Great albums, and album covers. Cheers!
"unhalfbricking" is too good. the only connection i have to sandy denny is being a fanatic about her and her music since the mid-80's.
Enjoyed that John. Hope you can do a pt2 sometime
GREAT VIDEO WITH ALL OF THE LP COVERS.

14:23 😂 wonderfully stated
Love. All these album covers all cleverly photographed .
the "rubber soul" cover is perhaps the greatest cover. it's certainly my favorite.
11:55 maybe they go the idea from The Beatles scene in Help!
The "Beatles piano" was borrowed from a local hotel ... and got ruined by the snow"
7:55 not even the stairs are there anymore! There are elevators now. I was very disappointed when I went there to visit it.
The long walk Windsor castle, you of all people should know that!

So was Back off Boogaloo. Liam Gallagher recorded a video there for his single Once, also featuring Eric Cantonar in 2020.
Very educational episode, The giants causeway, Northern Ireland made from dried volcano
08:17 "St Pancreas" 😂
I’ve been to the Giants Causeway and spent ages trying to find the spot where the zeppelin photo was taken - without luck

The tennis racket cover rejected by Led Zeppelin was later released by the band String Driven Thing.
