I hope I could provide some valuable information around this topic 😊 What are your experiences in DevOps and your personal preferences? Why did you choose a career in DevOps? Please share with others 💙
Originally I started as a systems administrator,
I chose it because I thought, back then when I chose it, is that it could be more challenging and value provisioning
And found out recently, that it gives me a good opportunity to be rare, because, as you said, few people really could be considered QUALIFIED for it.
For my experiences
I started with a checklist that contains "Area of knowledge prioritized"
And this was my sequence:
- Linux since I started as a sysadmin
- Configuration Management - chose Ansible
- Cloud providers - chose Azure
- Microservices Orchestration and management, k8s of course
My next would be:
- IAC - Terraform probably
- Application monitoring
- SRE Theory and concepts
Thanks for the content...Really Informative...
@@omaralaadin3927 Thanks for sharing Omar!
I needed this so much and it came at the right time in my life of career transition from Healthcare to DeVOps. I want to know everything DevOps like the back of my hand and to be an asset to any given establishment I will work for. I am going through the much needed training and I have found your videos extremely amazing, engaging and well explained to say the least. I need more even a hand holding through and beyond this phase is all I can ask for.
Nana, tech world should be greatful for your amazing devops lessons, you are a big inspiration for my carear.
I started my first graduate job as a software engineer. Through that experience, I was introduced to the universe of DevOps and upskilled heavily in the Microsoft tech stack (Azure, Azure DevOps, dotNet) and Agile methodology. I'm now super passionate about DevOps and automation and all the platforms and tools that achieve high software delivery performance! Thank you for your videos Nana
So one has to have a prior work experience in software engineering for acquiring a devops role?
Hey Nana, yet another devops here. i really love that i can continuously learn new stuff, and optimize processes both for speed but mainly quality and security. this really improves QOL for all colleagues which is my main motivation. yet sometimes i wonder, am i actually productive for the company? i think it is just really hard to grasp the long term impact of a speed improvement, even harder for quality and more so for security.
What a nice structured bootcamp! I like your DevOps videos and contents.
Thanks Nana for this video.I was looking for this video to help my friends and peers understand the profile of DevOps.
Awesome work by you and your team in graphics, background and video recording...
Lastly, you are an awesome teacher and great content presenter
🤩
Thank you very much for detailing information. I’m an a system administrator with 8 years experience and 10 months ago I have started to learn and study on devops engineering. Today i pass linux administration, ci/cd & iac, cloud infrastructure, monitoring/failover/ha clusters & etc. I’m very happy to be a part of Devops world ☺️👍
DevOps is just for people who really loves the DevOps career. I was a Devops Engineer in the past, since DevOps is not directy focused on software development, every day I was getting overwhelmed, so one day I said: DevOps is not for me. I'm not saying that it's a bad career, I'm just saying that DevOps is not for everyone. Thanks for this video, Nana and greetings from México.
If you don’t mind me asking , what Exactly did you find overwhelming about the role ? I’m trying to figure out if Devops is for me
@@sarahabe1221 that you can hold several bolls in the air, that you can keep an eye of everything, work and optimize
Thank you Nana for your videos. I am a system administrator and am transitioning to the DevOps. As I am tired of routine work and want something new where I can train my brain and have satisfaction doing things that help other people.
Devops might look interesting superficially. But it takes lot of time. No doubt it will fetch You bigger salary package, but you end up having no personal time and all the times you are stuck with infrastructure building only, specially in the times where agile is followed. Sometimes late night task also come up.
Excellent description about DevOps! Congratulations!
Great description of DevOps life Nana, well done! I noticed that the audio quality in this video is much better than usual. Usually when you speak, there is a lot of reverb, but not in this video. It’s much easier to listen to!
Thank you for the feedback! We booked a video studio and got professional help that's why :D
All your technical videos are amazing, but this kind of videos about your experience on the road to DevOps like the "How I learn new technologies as a DevOps Engineer" are great to don't be frustrated on this road. Particularly in my case I was also a software developer but enjoy more to improve the software development process, than the development software itself.
All your videos have sped up my road a lot on this and I want to thank you for your great work.
Thank you Matias for this precious feedback that such videos are helpful as well. Happy to hear!
I love the way that you explain all the concepts.
Very clear and direct to the point.
Excelente videos.
Just wanna say how much I appreciate the parity deal you have on the course. It's rare to see people being aware that a price in US dollars can be unrealistic to other countries.
The first thing that flashed to me was your t-shirt, but l’amour c’est pour les DevOps tools, for a second I dared to think otherwise, heartbreaker !
This is great Nana. I had the same path as you and currently I work as full time DevOps engineer.
It's fascinating to see both the larger DevOps tools as well as the more niche sets of tool - such as those developed for Salesforce.
Oh god, I love you! I just discovered this channel and those videos are great, and you are great!
That video I have been looking for for a long time. I'm often asked in the job interviews how it happened that I switched from mobile development to DevOps because the set of tasks is more diverse and I really like to optimize processes.
I am confused to learn either ios app development or devops first what would you suggest my brother
@6210 Siddharth reddy Bandela just chose what you really like to do now
@@PavloTunyk okay my brother❤️
Nana I had been following you for 2 months now and I can say you have great videos and your teaching style is fabulous and thorough and I really enjoy learning. I am more of a SDET and trying to go into OPS , I like ops because I like to read logs, find issues in different environments, deploy applications. I had been working with cloud technologies for a couple of years now and its always something new to learn. I like how you can work as an IC at various points and project lifecycle
Really informative as usual, Thank you so much nana.
Awesome video as always. Excited to see more such insightful videos from you ahead.❤
It's really nice to see you again!
Awesome video. I have ben in IT for a while. Currently Network Admin and have been procrastinating a lot on Azure or AWS. I really have been hearing a lot about how DevOps engineers are in demand. Just trying to sort out a good path and which cloud platform to learn first. I checked out your bootcamp info. Dont know if I can do that right now but it looks good. I will check out more of your videos though.
Thank you Nana... You rock!🤘💜
Intersting.. your channel on devops is really very informative and quality of content is great.. keep up the good work !! would like to see informative videos on openshift and podman in details , being beginner to these tools..
Nana, you are amazing, thank you for you lessons and tips. I am a new DevOps (I was integration engineer) and your videos are so useful, explained well, I love your analogies. Thank you so much!
Thank you Daniel! 💙
Lovely one nana ! as always
Thank you so much, Nana💗
Thank you for this video ! Nice T-shirt :D
One of my goals for 2023 is to add devOps/cloud to my skill set as a SWE. I plan on purchasing your course. Thank you sharing your knowledge and I appreciate the time and hard work you put into your videos/courses 🙏🏽
me too
have you taken a course yet.
as software engineer I feel like it is time for me to understand fully the lifecycle
You have a very good clarity in what you do, why you do it. Keep it up. I am also on similar path. Keep it up
Thank you! 💙
Hi Nana,
I had a question about your Boot Camp:
How do you adapt your course curriculum when DevOps tech is ever changing?
It seems, from the outside, the tools are constantly changing, often very rapidly, and it would be hard to maintain training in current tech/processes.
With DevOps being so innately tied to production / process, how does one "practice" DevOps skills outside of the "walled-garden" of a company?
I can see the value of learning the tools and processes, but how does one apply these, practically, if we are not already in a company / studio ?
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience with DevOps ❤️
Bravo Nana, great video as usuel 👋👋
i discovered IT and DevOps recently and your content has helped me greatly
Merci
Thank you Yanis, glad it's helpful for you :)
❤ Good luck Nana!
Amazing video. Thank you.
3:04 She said it up ! Just what i wanted to confirm myselves .I knew this for long that DevOps is just another SDLC like Waterfall or Agile .People keep professing DevOps as some ideology or a set of principles making it sound complex and almost un understandable. As such she herself started her career as DevOps engineer since she was dealing with Operations aspect of it down there hood.
Good quality thought process
Thank you so much Nana!
Great video, I do some DevOps work and enjoy it
I watched your video for the first time, it was a great experience for me! I have a question, if you can help me, I appreciated it: As a React-Fronted guy, what should I do to make the transition to WebDop? What languages or applications should I know? How long would it take me -approximately? Thank you again! :)
Thanks for the video. Really helpful! Just one question, people say all the tie that you need to "stay up to date," but they never explain HOW? can you comment on that please
Nice video, I feel inspired.
I want to learn these skills as a Developer, but can't say I want to switch yet! Who knows? Maybe one day
Thanks Nana , its really helpful. /
Amazing as always 🙂
wherever the spaces you talk about devops you said the true information about it.From some of your talks you speak about the journey you had faced and started your career in that form as every role making you too faster and to get rid of these things to some other people leads your yt channel and this decision growing the one thing I believed
you are not hypnotising by attract them.you are an open
Hi Nana, I have a small question for you. In some companies, employers expect people, called DevOps in that company, to attend on-call where they are available at a moment's notice to fix emergency problems. Do you think this should be part of the DevOps role? Because in my opinion, DevOps should not replace SysOps, just be someone improving the process between Devs and Ops.
very informative video! 😀
I've been a system architect for about 12 years now and looking to learn more in the field. As I work with azure on a daily bases I'm looking to learn DevOps but my programming set is limited but strong in scripting.
What programming skill level would you say is needed for a DevOps role?
So far, you have exceeded my expectations...even though I thought the course was eexpensive.... You are more than worth the price tag. Looking forward to more insightful and interesting learning experience. Thanks much... if I could receive an email that tells me about all the courses you offer, I would be grateful. Thanks Nana.. Cheers....Ash
Hi I use to work as a Unix , Sun Solaris, Linux sysadmin. And saw the birth of this new job / function that was basically two jobs smashed in to one. I personally don’t mind like the new faster deployment advantages. That said there are real negatives related to security and dependability on third party packages to deploy & maintain. Lack of deep knowledge will and does result in security issues.
Very informative video. Please create a video on how to build resume/CV for DevOps job role.
If possible, also provide sample resumes for DevOps
Girl !You rock! bravo!!!!!
Hi, Nana... I have learnt kubernetes and docker from your videos. Thanks you so much for that. I have been learning about other techs as well but still I am not confident enough whether I am qualified for devops engineer. What should I do?
thank you so much for your video . it's my first experience. i'd like to learn more about devop.
sorry about my level in english
Am just started learning DevOps through Community Classroom established by Kunal Kushwaha & am using so many resources shared by Rohit Ghumare,Saiyam Pathak,Micheal Cade.
I chose DevOps coz i want to know about various things & i want to learn it then i wanna work on it. My experience is am starting & wanna contribute to the open source.
I just started yesterday, how is your journey going?
nice explanation 🤝👏
Nicely said.l like you to learn more technology every time😛
Thanks for sharing
i just dont get what devops agile etc and all these things are.
- You need to be able to
- understand and can design gate logic / boolean logic/Karnaugh maps
- machine codes
- assemmbly
- design a 8086 from gate logic up
- program in fortan, then C, then C++ then Js
- build a PC
- build a website
- set up some NAS's
- Spin a few AWS
- have a crack at your own grahics engine
- be able to isnall and arbitary os
-instal and use an arbitary app
-understand control theory
and after that everthing else is just an abstraction.
How good are you in a "pure" sysadmin or cloud engineer (focusing on architecture) role ? compared to programming ? how you would compare today your programming side to a senior React dev ? or senior C++ programmer ?
Really really very clear for spmeone who is planning to transition to devops
Hey I currently work as a devops engineer and I never work as a software developer. sometimes I do not know what the developer code does. will it be worthed reading through code and understanding how it works? or is this not necessary?
I LOVE UR TUNE OF VOICE♥
Thank you Nana.
I'm gonna steal this for my next interview
Hi Nana, Please post some videos on AWS Infrastructure uses in ML, Datasciene,AI, i heard MLops is one concept, thx
Pulumi is really good for IaC !!!
Is Junior DevOps a thing? I new in the field, just starting, but devops is a really insteresting field and im looking foward it. But i keep thinking that DevOps is a really HIGH Skill area and you need to know a lot. What area should I aim first to become a good DevOps engineer? Is a bootcamp enough for new blood?
Hi Nana, please when is the pre- boot camp devop course going to start as is the only thing still stopping me from starting my devops bootcamp course because I want to start and understand everything from the scratch due to my lack of I.T background.
Hey Stanley, we are intensively working on it. Will be released within 2 months 👍
Perfect explanation @Nana 👍😎
Hi
Thanks for introducing this video but I have a question about the level of stress in developing(or software engineer) and devops engineering.
Can you tell me which of them is more stressful and if it is possible compare work-life balancing as a devops engineer and a developer(or software engineer).
Depends entirely on the company, not the field.
Hello Nana, can you split your devops courses so one can get just what they need? I am interested in the python, but it appears one can't have just that without the entire package.
Nana loves your voice ❤️
Is it possible to work remotely as a cloud engineer? I look forward to hearing your answer.
Devops job profile you have mentioned in this video is the job I will love to do. Even for almost no cost to company.
For all software devs, DevOps is an area you should allocate at least a periodic block of time to, for example one weekend per 12 weeks, to review your current setup, find current best practices, and make improvements. Similar goes for: security, monitoring and alerting, and probably a few more, that aren't directly tied to product development.
Hi Nana, new subscriber here 👋
Do you offer career counseling sessions in IT?
Thanks 😊
I love 💘 devops because of you..na.na.. I will definitely meet you once in my life time..
Hi Nana. Can you please make a tutorial on Sensu ?
hello, thanks for the wonderful contents.. request you to please make video on transitioning from QA to devops role
Hey Vinay, glad you liked it! Regarding your suggestion, the next video will actually cover that topic 😊
@@TechWorldwithNana Thank you so much.. looking forward to it.. bdw.. love your content.. thanks for making it easy to understand…
Excellent.
J'aime bien le t-shirt.
What about a linux systems engineer getting converted to devops? How do you see that. Good or bad move?
Nana would you help me in networking? I am so confused how to start all though I am interested in it.
I'm a fullstack developer, and I'm 31 years old currently I'm learning docker and kubernetes Im planning to switch from dev to devops
I have more of a server/networking background. I want to pivot and go devops route. I'm trying to learn some coding, but it's been a little difficult. Would this course be a good route for novices in this area?
Hi Max! Yes, your background is fine. Everything is taught from scratch, assuming no prior-knowledge of for e.g. Linux, programming or especially not for all the DevOps technologies covered.
We do not recommend our bootcamp for people completely new to IT.
@@TechWorldwithNana Thank you for answering my question :)
Can you do like a weekly AMA session?
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
is your program good for non-IT people trying to get into devop?
Do Devops jobs have to normally work more than 40 hours a week or companies are ok with you working less than 40 hours?
Hi Nana, There are two types of work in DevOps one is service based and the other is product based. So, Which one is better for career growth ?
Hi I cannot find your reply, could you reply here ?
The reply is visible in the notification but cannot be found after clicking the notification.
hi, Can you tell me how to stitch devops projects in CV . As I am a fresher in this field.
You know what, once I play your video and start hearing your voice, my mind immediately starts concentrating 100% 🙏😊

Hi Nana, hope you are well. I was wondering is your boot camp good to do prior or after AWS certifications?
Im currently learning IT fundamentals and trying to follow your career path to become a DevOps engineer
Between DevOps and Cyber Security, which one do you you think is more future proof ? What are your thoughts on that ?
