You are the content missing on You Tube. Actually teaching and not focusing entirely on what I payed and what I can sell it for. There are too many crappy resellers picking up “vintage-80-90s labeled junk” and “so cute” decor with the promise of paying $.50-$1.00 per item and selling for $39.99 + free shipping. That is just getting old! When people find you, the channel should just skyrocket. Hang in there and persevere, I know you will make it! I have a very good feeling.
That is so kind! I know the current trend is for everyone to be focused on the dollars and cents of it, but none of it's worth anything if there isn't the love for it first
It's insanely crowded and would never pass fire codes today, but I guess it's been there 50 years and is grandfathered in. The owner is about to retire
The crocheted afghans like the purple floral one you picked up, has way more than $20 worth of yarn in it. I crochet and people don’t realize how much yarn cost and the time it takes to make them. That was a beautiful afghan.
On the t.v. show, Hoarders, they always try to convince them to clean up by saying that they wouldn't want to be buried and die. I immediately want to start throwing things out!
Hi! Found you on Misty's channel ....just subscribed! We have only been doing videos for a couple months and I am so glad to find yours! Loving all those afghans, we have been having fun picking up some of those! Cant wait to watch more. :)
Hi George. I'm over from Misty's channel (thrifter junker vintage hunter). Wow! That place was like Alibaba's cave! So full of cool things. Amazed how organized everything was.
I am in Bardstown, Kentucky. The antique stores/malls are gone, leaving one mall left and up for sale. The online platforms, aging and dying collectors, have lead to the demise of brick and mortar stores here. I have a 40 year collection of flamingos (200+) Maddux of California, Brad Keeler, and yes- Will George. Amazing!
I just was in Bardstown last month, and I noticed the new vendor Mall had better collectible stuff than I expected, I guess because the old malls are gone. I'm surpised a place with such historic significance can't support antiques and vintage collectives, but it's a commitment off time. I'm glad there's still malls around so I can do the Nomad thing!
I just found your channel and I think it is a winner. For me the chyron on the bottom went too fast (just something to think about when you edit). Good luck.🍀
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm still learning the video aspects so will try to bed your advice, I know one of them didn't hold on the edit and went whizzing by super fast oops
I'm glad it wasn't just me! A vintage fashion dealer almost bought it at this weekend's show but she ended up with a sequinned 1950s skirt I had instead
WOW this place is great. Lots of things and gorgeous things too. Thanks for sharing and taking me into the tiny spaces too, if I can't get in without bumping something I usually won't go in there. I am not a small person. Have a great day
Hi George! Mary from Mary's Wonderful Stuff at the Spokane Custer Show told me today that you had a vlog on RUclips! I used to come in early on Friday and help her set up shop. As I didn't make it to the Custer Show this fall, I watched that one first; I knew where all the booths you showed were located! ha Judy the quilter
Loved this! What an incredible store. I appreciate your knowledge. You know something about all antique categories, it's amazing! Thank you for sharing!!
@@TheAntiqueNomad you got me hooked! I'm binge watching lol. It's raining in Florida so what else to do but watch RUclips! You're awesome to learn from!!
Hi, George. Thanks for sharing this place with us. Talk about the thrill of the hunt! If you're ever so inclined, I'd be really interested to hear what you had to say about the pieces towards the end when the audio issues started. Can you clip that portion to make a separate video and dub in the audio? I've never done anything remotely like that so maybe it's more trouble than it would be worth. Thanks again for sharing your adventures and knowledge with us.
@@TheAntiqueNomad I imagine as long as there's technology there will be technical issues. Can you tell me what the pieces on the shelf above the Bristol glass are? Some of those were really beautiful.
Please check out my older videos, you'll see a lot more fun place to dig when we can again! Thank you for watching and we'll have another new video Wednesday
Cool! Please tell them you saw them on my channel if you think of it, I'd like them to have me back sometime! I'm glad you're enjoying it, I'm having fun doing that
Well...I missed the premier...too much going on today. WOW!, that shop was seriously packed! I did spot one piece of Orange Tree - a blue mug, at 13:33...I'm still looking for those three pieces, and was pausing the video every time Carnival Glass appeared :-) I don't like the pattern in blue/amethyst, but the pattern did catch my attention. I think Bristol is a sleeper, too. I really like Bristol, whether it was made in England or the U. S. I have a Bristol epergne, and a couple other pieces of it. I liked the items you bought. Those bottle toppers would be a good start to a collection of them. Maybe I can catch the next premier :-| If you ever do one live, you know I'll be screaming "Slow Down" a lot ;-) Looking forward to the haul video.
It was very last minute, I didn’t think I (or anyone else) would be free on Christmas to chat but our gathering wrapped up early, had a few viewers and it was fun! I’ll try to plan one where I can give more notice. That shop was crazy full! I guess 40 years accumulation will do that. I didn’t see much Carnival though. I’m glad you see something in Bristol glass, it was kind of astounding to me that a filthy Swanky Swig was more valuable than a handpainted art glass urn, but I’m seeing younger collectors liking traditional again so maybe that will change. Meanwhile, I do like those quirky bottle toppers!
@@TheAntiqueNomad As for me, I'm always happy when the hols are over...worn out, but happy. I wonder if they actually know what all they have in that shop. There could be an original copy of the Declaration of Independence in there, and they would never know it -- WOW!, that place was full! I have always liked Bristol glass. It almost has a "misty" look to it, and I've always liked that. That is really great that you're noticing the younger collectors are going for the traditional items again...as long as they don't paint the furniture pieces. Putting paint over all that fantastic wood grain is like putting Mother Nature in a gaudy body bag. A person could get a collection of those bottle toppers going, and it wouldn't take up a lot of real estate...nothing like all the water, etc., sets I have... :-| Are you planning to do a vid New Year's day? If so, I'll try to catch that one.
CONSTELLATION PEGASUS I’m sure there’s sleepers in that shop, I’ll be back to dig! I like collecting little stuff, I travel so much that I downsized early in life so I enjoy things that don’t take much space. Meanwhile, I’m working on a new one for next Wednesday and I’ll see you there!
@@TheAntiqueNomad When you go back to dig, you'll probably need to plan for an entire day...and maybe take along an excavation team. I wish I liked just the small things. I do have a lot of small items, but also a lot of the larger pieces. I enjoy all of them, though. I'll try my best to catch the Wednesday video! If you ever do one live, you know I'd be on the chat screaming Whoa!!! Slow down!!! Back up!!! ;-) I'd drive the camera person bonkers...
CONSTELLATION PEGASUS I’ll have to consider a live stream! I’m starting to get more comfortable with the process and I think we know how to improve audio now so we’ll do our best!
I like the dress, recently purchased a homemade vintage dress that looks new and never or barely worn. Btw, love all the stuff and variety that this location provides but do some of these places that get stuffed to the gills ever start to violate health/safety or fire codes? Some areas it barely looks like you can move. With my luck one wrong turn I would break something and then It would have to be purchased lol...tyfs 💕
Look up Obsolete Oddie, the Courier Brothers; it is a story similar to the one you told. He' s on YT. What can l say it is close to Halloween . Loved all the Pyrex and Blue Ridge. Stay safe.
Since you’re so knowledgeable, how can I tell if those silver rimmed drinking glasses are real Dorothy Thorpe? No one can actually tell me how to distinguish. I happen to have 2 small roundish (like an after dinner liqueur type glass) ... each are quite heavy and have the silver colored rim. I found them at a thrift store. I have no idea if they are authentic D Thorpe’s but they are nice nonetheless. i really enjoy your videos. Keep making them please and I will prob see you when you come back to Renningers in Mt Dora, FL.
I actually am claustrophobic a bit! As long as I can see my way out, I get a little thrill from it but it doesn't really bug me unless I get into a cul-de-sac or boxed in or stuck (all of it those things have really happened to me!)
Royal Copley doggie by the mailbox was my big favorite.

It is wonderful to see how stacked that space was.
It was a lot of fun! You don't often see stores that packed anymore...it probably wouldn't be allowed to open that crowded today!
This place was crazy!! I absolutely love it!! A real treasure hunt!!
That place was crazy full. My husband ( a firefighter) said it’s a fire trap! Be careful

By far my favorite antique/vintage RUclips channel! Love ya George!
I'm so glad you're having fun joining me! See you with more tomorrow
Loved the polyester dress
Pretty covered buttons
Someone spent a lot of time making it
Glad you rescued it
Aww I’m glad you saw what I saw! It actually was better received than I expected
That top/dress is waaaay cute!!! Love it
I thought so too! I’ll bring to Mt Dora for you to see, if you like it won’t be costly
Agree - the dress is cute :)
Elisa Oropallo thanks, I thought it was too but beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

Oh my, all the georgeous glass ware, the pink, ruby, custard... And the afgans, the fun bottle stoppers! I would love to look around in that mall. 😊

Loved this video especially watching you play Jenga with China and Glass!
