- Etran Finatawa combine the rich nomadic cultures of the Tuareg and Wodaabe people from the West African country of Niger -- a region that for thousands of years has served as a crossroads between the Arabs of North Africa and the sub-Saharan traditions. Etran Finatawa blend traditional instruments with electric guitars, combining the polyphonic songs of the Wodaabe people with modern arrangements, transporting you to the Sahara with their evocative sound.
Disclosure bought me here :) Disclosure -Etran off there new EP Feb 28 2020
Discovered this gem in secondary school. Through Rough Guide to the music of Africa
wodaabe, fulani my ppl. Nice video
As a modern-day consumerist westerner, it's hard to fully grasp the holistic intent of this song, but it resonates beyond ones own experience...and it's as psychedelic as anything I've ever heard. It's like if the Velvet Underground came from some exotic locale..( typical western comparison) .I hope that in the next life I will be blessed with the tools to fully comprehend the freedom they feel while performing this ancient music from the future...
haha
tre cool j'adore ko mi poullo nomade Guinée fouta djalon mi salminion
Etran Finatawa were playing in Hitchin England with ROTW 2009. I made sure I saw them and they were awesome. I bought their CD "Desert Crossroads".
For ages it has been a part of our culture.
I love this music! I had the honor of seeing them play their music at Festivale International de Louisiane some years ago. Quite a life-changing experience. Their music touched something ancient in my soul, it's very hard to explain.

simply beautiful...
Toll!
What language is it? Love it
This song is in two languages: Tamasheq and Fulfulde
una recomendación de los amigos de inside africa de CNN en ingles jaja .. sino no los conociera! muy muy chido! :) saludos!
this music is so spine tingling
how can I find the lyric for this song? any help would be appreciated
Surbajooo mbaale diam. Surbajaaaa ñaale diam continued like that in pulaar
@@TheEternalTriumphant they are speaking a Tuareg language that I don’t understand. I will keep in mind when talking to family to try and fill in the gaps. Surbajo means woman, or madame. Mbada li/mbaale diam good morning or how are you this morning. Diam or jam means peace, nyaale,ñaali diam is mid day greeting as he’s greetings the woman asking her attention excuse me how are you this afternoon and so forth. The Tuareg part I don’t understand in this song.
I got their album and its pretty good.
Which part of Africa is he from?😢
very nice i really like the beat.
