Be still my heart. If that aint the most beautiful design ford ever created I dont know what is.My all time dream car.Beauty speed and handling .God Id give just about anything to have her in my garage.
For those chevy and mopar boys out there who dont give the boss 302 its due I had a friend that owned a grabber orange 70 boss 302 and ge raced it a lot.Said he beat BB chevys like the 427 and 454 chevelles and BB mopars like super bees challengers and cudas and NEVER LOST A RACE.He said that little 302 was putting out over 400 horse cuz he had it dynod .It was so quick off the line and wound so fast that by the time the BB's started really pulling the race was over.
Tom Wolak lightweight helps challenger good sound engine but not for race too heavy also what about 1967 camaro is lightweight but not enough horsepower so yeah
Tom Wolak hey may I ask you I question what’s will win a 1970 mustang mach 1 428scj drag pack twister special or a 70 boss 302 or 70 boss 429 I’m thinking of buying a old new mustang I’m going for a 71 mustang mach 1 scj I like front look of the 71-73 rather than 70 ones also what better 71 mach 1 scj or 71 boss 351
Actually the 2012 has the "C" stripes of the 1969 boss 302, the 2013 has the "hockey stick " stripe of the 1970. Like the originals the 12/13 bosses feature a unique racing engine, lowered and tuned suspension, etc. But feature many more luxury appointments than the originals. I own a 2013 with the Recaro seats and Detroit locker style rear. The very limited production "Laguna Seca" versions, delete the rear seat and have brake cooling ductwork as well as the locker style rear and Recaro racing seats...
The 2012 Boss 302 has 444 HP @ 7500 RPM and a 6 speed manual transmission. DOHC 32-valve V-8, aluminum block and heads It cost new around 42K Zero to 60 mph: 4.3 sec ¼-mile: 12.8 sec @ 113 mph Gets around 17mpg
Fall of 1969, I almost traded a '66 Corvette convertable with air for a '70 BOSS 302. That demo ride almost did it! Salesman said give it some revs. A little over four grand it felt like an after burner kicked in. My Corvette small block didn't perform like that. At the time warrenty was 4000 miles. I was not ready for a short life auto?
@@bluesky-ud9wg I didn't say anything about redline. Peak hp was @ 5800 rpm. I don't remember where the torque peak but it was not the same rpm as the hp. Just because an actor say something. It does not mean it's true.
Actually the 2012 matches the stripes and such of the 69 and the 2013 likewise the 70. the differnce is ford produced even numbers for both years of the revisit whereas for the originals tje vast majority were 1970s but the revisit still roughly matchesmthe originals total production
Yes. Back in 1970 because they would have increased in value far more than a 302 has to this point but now, you better to have a whole lot more money to own a real one.
Anthony Cach More expense to enjoy and use but high value. I'm sure a Boss 302 would be a lot more user friendly. I'd love to have the road manners of the Boss 302.
Question, could this car be rigged with some sort of electrical engine and pull a smmilar performance? Nothing to do with CO2, I've just always been intrigued with the idea.
69 and 70 Boss were so georgeous.
I m from Sweden and have a Bright Gold Metallic 1970 Boss 302 Mustang like this. 23 000 orginal miles on the odometer.
+Thomas Gustafsson
Lucky guy. 23 000 miles is cool but very a speculative number.
T.G. ..............hope you still got your BOSS ????.........7 years later !!!!!!
That boss with those wheels it's probably the most beautiful Mustang I've ever seen
I love my Grabber Green 70 Boss 302. I have a 289 Hi Po cam in it and it pulls like freight train off the line with 3:91 rear gears.
Isn't it time to step into the present with a cam?
@@bluesky-ud9wg
No. The 289 Hi Po cam with 1.73 rockers is like adding a beefier cam.
Boss 302 is my favorite car of all time :D

If it didn't make power after 5,200 stock it sure did with a camshaft change and a few other mod's.
The car's today can't hold a candle to these car's of the 70's
Uh in what way?
Killer review! Thanks a lot for profiling this great piece of Americana!

Love it awesome! 🍻
A Windsor block & Cleveland heads...nice combo. Pardon my ignorance, but what was Eleanor in the original Gone in 60;Seconds?
Eleanor was a Shelby GT500.
Thanks for the info. :-)
Dave Helmboldt Any time.
the original Eleanor was a 1973 Mustang Mach 1.
Oops. The other day I made the mistake of calling my doctor's 442 a Cutlass. Good thing he didn't have a scalpel in his hand, huh.

What was the wheel and tire size on the BOSS?
nice car
The most gorgeous and desirable mustang of all time but the colour has to be deep cadmium same as the trans am cars
Peak rpm was 5800 rpm not 5200.
He didn't say Redine at 5200 he stated the HP & TQ at 5200
Peak was 6150, at the Rev Limiter
