  • The end of the year is an opportunity to look back at the significant events or changes that we could see in our capital city in the past year. That is why we decided to remind you of the most important ones in this video.
What happened to Prague in 2024?
    • Kačerov railway station got a new look, having undergone a successful reconstruction. It is just a pity that the same fate has not yet befallen the local metro station…
    • Rajská zahrada railway station has also been improved, thanks to the new footbridge between the metro and the railway station, transferring to the train takes only a few minutes.
By the way, you can get to the city center from here by train faster than by metro. Find out for yourself: • Jak cestovat po Praze ...
    • The other two railway stations that flashed to better times in 2024 are Bubeneč, but also Vyšehrad, which is awaiting a big transformation in the next few years. You can find out more here: • Ikonická pražská nádra...
    • The first residents have arrived in a brand new development between Anděl and Smíchov. We also filmed a separate episode about it: • Největší pražská promě...
    • Several major projects related to transport have started. For example, the construction of the Smíchov Terminal has begun, the Masaryk Railway Station is undergoing a transformation, and the construction of the next stage of the Prague Circuit has begun.

    • Reconstruction has begun on the upper part of Wenceslas Square and the return of trams is also planned, which should connect it with Vinohrady.
    • Jiřího z Poděbrad Square will also see a transformation. After all, the metro station of the same name opened here after repairs.
    • 2024 did not forget about trams either - there was a further extension of the lines, for example at Pankrác.
    • Trolleybuses are making a big comeback, which have also started transporting passengers to the airport.
You can find out where they will go here: • Trolejbusy - proč je m...
    • Bus lanes have also been expanded, especially in Prague 6. Thanks to them, public transport buses are less delayed, but cars are stuck in longer traffic jams... More in our previous video: • Buspruhy - co se s ni...
To make things even worse for motorists, Prague has banned them from entering the city center at night.
    • Parking in Prague was also a big topic in 2024. For example, Prague 7 announced a referendum to raise the price for parking permits. However, locals were against it.
If you are interested in why the parking system in Prague is failing, watch the video: • Modré zóny měly vyřeši...
    • A new park called U Vody was created in Holešovice on the banks of the Vltava River, and a new section of the Povltava cycle path was opened, connecting the park with Stromovka.
A new path for cyclists and pedestrians was also created in Bubny, connecting Holešovice with Letná.
    • Due to the poor technical condition of the Libeňský Bridge, the tram connection between Holešovice and Libení was canceled. However, at least the reconstruction of this bridge has been accelerated.
But Libeňský is not the only bridge that will be repaired. We will reveal more in the video: • 3 pražské mosty, které...
    • In the fall, the cable car on Petřín was also stopped due to technical conditions. It will only start running again after reconstruction with new cars by designer Anna Marešová. Learn more here: • Lanovka na Petřín: vel...
    • The municipality surprisingly decided to cancel plans for the new Depo Zličín station on line B. The reason is concerns about low usage.
    • The “showcase of socialism” - the Máj department store - also underwent a huge transformation. What does it look like inside? We found out about that too: • Nový Máj - co se skrýv...
    • And 2024 was also a good year for tourism. Even more visitors came to Prague than in pre-covid times.
